We were considering a tankless water heater. Because we've known Richard and his family for several years, I felt comfortable calling him for advice and a quote. While he was on site, Richard offered to check our furnace and found a cracked heat exchanger, and since the A/C was the same vintage (21 years) and not working that well, we decided to replace everything. Richard very patiently took us through the choices of equipment and explained the rebates that were available. Two days later, the job was completed, with absolutely no mess left behind. The floor was actually cleaner than when they started. The new A/C is surprisingly quiet, we have endless hot water, and the improved air circulation from the new furnace is amazing. We were very impressed with the professionalism and workmanship shown by Richard and his crew and would not hesitate to recommend Richard and Coretemp.

Making a decision on replacing our furnace was a big deal. I got quotes from six vendors and found that only a couple of them gave enough information to make the decision easier. From other research, I found that the RUUD system was highly rated by other consumers and requested quotes on this product. Richard Payer from Coretemp Heating and Air was the only one that provided a very extensive quotation with all the items that they would provide. He made it very easy to understand the components that I needed for the size of my house; not necessarily the most expensive in his product line. His technical knowledge exceeded any of the other vendors. After checking references on Coretemp, I decided to proceed with the installation. The crew showed up on time and finished on the same day. They accommodated every request without hesitation. Everything was nicely installed; they took away the old furnace and air conditioner and left the room and outdoor area clean and tidy. Richard definitely goes the extra mile. He did everything to my satisfaction when he installed my AC and tankless water heater. Also, when I needed my furnace checked right away on a cold SUNDAY morning I called Richard. He picked up and had a guy over the next day! Who can you call these days on a SUNDAY! Thanks Richard.

It's autumn, furnace is not working and it's getting cold. Richard comes, looks at the furnace, looks at the thermostat, and very quickly figures out that we have wrong setting in the thermostat: something about "heat pump" that I don't understand but he knows all about. Now we have a warm air in the house. He did not even charge us anything - says that was too simple. :) Thank you, Richard, for excellent service! I must also say, this summer CoreTemp installed new air conditioner and tankless water heater in out house. The product, job and service were excellent, and I did not hesitate to call them again with our furnace problem. I was not disappointed: this proves that the customer satisfaction is the highest priority word in CoreTemp's lexicon. I highly recommend CoreTemp services to everybody.

After reviewing 3 quotes I selected Coretemp because of the brand names they offered (Rudd and Rinnai), the "fixed price" installation quote and their clear idea of how would they would install the venting and AC outdoor unit. Another company had roughly the same total quote; however, it came in many parts: furnace + plenum work + AC + electrical work + piping work and so on. Richard and his crew of 2 + co-op student worked steadily for about 9 hours one day and a couple of hours the next. As far as I could tell everything was installed according to code and very neatly placed both inside and out. Everything was cleaned up once the job was done. Though the installation was completed in mid-September, I waited until the furnace had been on for a couple of days. The furnace works well(and so did the AC on that one warm day (!) we had this September). Yesterday I called Coretemp because a little puddle was forming beneath the furnace. Chris came out within a couple of hours and fixed the piping from the furnace vent condensate collector. I have already recommended Coretemp to a neighbour. Well done!

I selected Coretemp for this project mainly because Richard (the owner) is very knowledgeable, has good experience with the systems I preferred and he explained clearly the installation options and process. The crew showed up and completed the installation according to the schedule; they accomodated a special request I had and left the site clean. There were some minor tune-ups required after the installation and Richard personally took care of that in a timely manner. Coretemp helped with the registration and rebate paperwork and I can also say the communication with the company is very good (swift replies to e-mails by Janice). Overall a good experience and I would recommend giving them a shot when looking for a system.

We recently purchased a 30-year old resale home and the inspection report recommended that original furnace should be replaced. Interviewed a number of companies after researching product reviews for furnaces and A/Cs. Came to the conclusion that if you picked a reliable brand, the next most important thing was the quality of the installer. Due to the tricky nature of the installation, Richard made sure we would be satisfied with the work before he began. Unlike some of the other HVAC companies we interviewed, Richard walked us through the job step by step, explaining the equipment, workmanship, and cost. While his company was not the lowest bid, his detailed quote (Model name and number, sizing, and component pricing) and client education gave us confidence in our due diligence. On the day of the install, the courteous CoreTemp crew showed up on time and worked according to schedule. At end of the project, the worksite was immaculate and we had a modern system that should last us another 30 years. Before Richard left, he completed the rebate paperwork, reviewed basic maintenance and operating procedures, and scheduled a preventative service call in a year's time. After living with the system over the winter, we've noticed an appreciable improvement in indoor air quality and our gas bill has nose-dived. Definitely a worthwhile investment and I would definitely refer Richard and Janice at CoreTemp to friends and family.

We needed to replace a low efficiency furnace and a/c and an electric water tank. We received 8 quotes from Carrier (2 dealers), Trane, Lennox, Bryant, York and Ruud (2 dealers). As well as 4 tankless water heaters (Rinnai, Navien, Noritz and Bosch) - please note that tankless water heaters may not be the best choice for every home, it does suit our needs (space and low demand). Coretemp was not the cheapest quote nor what my research said was the best overall system. However, they do offer the best furnace (Ruud), they gave the most detail in their quote and it was clear that I was not dealing with a salesman but the person who would actually do the installation. They provided references, which I made use of, and met every demand I made of them even if it wasn't their standard equipment. For example I wanted a good air cleaner without going to the expense of HEPA. Coretemp sourced a suitable air cleaner and priced it near cost, well below other quotes I had for the same cleaner. This gave me the most confidence in their quote - nothing hidden - and we were not disappointed. The installation was superb - they accommodated everything I had asked for even when I changed my mind on details. No shortcuts were taken, the workmanship quality was excellent and they left everything cleaner than when they arrived. But the most important aspect is that everything works perfectly - getting it right first time gets them top marks for customer satisfaction from me! I am happy to recommend Coretemp to anyone looking for true value and confidence that the job will be done right.

Richard was extremely helpful in guiding us through the decision process. We solicited several quotes, some much higher and some much lower, but the difference was certainly Richard. Our comfort level was very high with his ability to explain everything to us and his passion for the products he sells. The intall happened when they said it would, and while it wasn't completed same day due to a small issue, Richard was back the next morning to correct it. All in all, one of the best experiences we've had with a contractor. Kudos!

Our air conditioner broke down in the middle of a heat wave. We needed a new air conditioner asap. We called Coretemp and Richard answered the phone right away He said he could replace our air conditoner with a new one the next day if we needed it. We discussed our options he emailed us our writen agreement and we were all set to go. The next day Richard and Chris installed our new air conditioner. We have been very pleased with it so far.
