Outstanding service... renovating a 1926 bungalow, asbestos everywhere, and Accu-Star was exceptional in the way they treated us and the way they solved the problem. We would not hesitate to use them on every renovation we plan... :)

We are renovating an old house and came across asbestos wrapped ducts in walls that were being removed (so we had to deal with it immediately). I emailed Accu-Star at 10:00 p.m. and they responded within 10 minutes and had Elizabeth out to our house by noon the next day to do an estimate and had the job completed 2 days later. They were fantastic to deal with and I would highly recommend them.

Based on my experience, Accu-Star deserves full marks for the quality of their work, but there is another aspect of the company that should be made known. The price quoted for demolishing our garage was rather higher than I had expected, but as the garage was contaminated with asbestos and Accu-Star advertised itself as expert in asbestos containment, I agreed, since I did not want there to be any risk to our health or that of our neighbors. The work was scheduled promptly and was carried out expeditiously; the clean-up was thorough. and neat. Everything was to my satisfaction. However yesterday I received an email from Accu-Star stating: "If you write us a *10 STAR review *on the work we did for you we will mail you a *$50.00 GIFT CARD* of your choice." This practice, which I consider highly questionable ethically, cannot help but call into question the objectivity of other ten-star reviews. It is regrettable that Accu-Star apparently does not feel sufficiently confident about the quality of its work (which I found to be very good) to generate favorable publicity, but instead attempts to buy good reviews with bribery. Needless to say, I do not expect to receive a gift certificate. despite the fact that I have rated the job-performance a meriting ten stars. Addendum in reply to the company's response: If the gift certificate were offered after the review appeared, it would indeed be an expression of thanks. Specifying, in advance, a ten-star review, merits a very different name.

We were very pleased with every aspect of the mold remediation in our basement crawl space. It was done expertly, courteously and was worth what we paid to have it done. Thank you!

Terrance and his team were professional and prompt. We were amazed at the level of technology used to assess the moisture in our basement. Their service was handled with care and attention to detail. They were efficient, friendly and budget conscious. We would definitely recommend them.

The work was started quickly and everyone worked hard. Terrance dealt with us personally and negotiated our concerns. He had a crew come back to satisfy the terms. We are happy that he came back to discuss the issues that we had.

We needed to understand what was happening in our basement and remove the paneling, bracings, ceiling, appliances, countertops, a cool room full of bad things etc... Terrance was great in doing the walk through and was very reasonable when midway through the job the scope changed. They were the best price out of the ten-star companies we brought in. Steve, Henry and Tyler who did most of the work were complete pros. Communicated and cleaned up before and after and tackled the most difficult demo and remediation jobs. They have set the stage for our basement and home renovation, we can only hope everything else goes this well.

We hired AccuStar in June 2014 to do mold remediation of our basement closet, hallway and kitchenette. As well we paid Elizabeth of AccuStar $700 to do pre mold remediation Air Quality Testing. Elizabeth did the testing if our basement clothes closet, kitchenette, main floor living room and office, and second floor family room and master bedroom, along with the outside control. We expected a full detailed report analyzing the lab's results of her air quality testing. However, Elizabeth just emailed the lab's results! We had been assured by Elizabeth prior to paying for this testing that she would provide us with her report too, but this was definitely not the case after we paid for this testing! Additionally, from the first meeting with Elizabeth to give us a quote for doing mold remediation until the actual morning two weeks later that AccuStar was supposed to do the mold remediation, we were never infirmed at any time by email or phone that we had to pay 50% upfront before the work was to begin nor were we advised that we'd have to pay the balance owing of 50% at the end of mold remediation on the same day prior to post mold remediation air quality testing! As a result, when AccuStar emailed us early in the morning that work in our basement was to begin that they expected all payments that day, we were very shocked and upset by this company's very poor customer service! They even yelled at both of us on the phone rather than being a polite, caring mold remediation company! So, we immediately canceled the mold remediation job with AccuStar! If AccuStar had advised us in advance of their policy regarding payment, we would have likely continued with mold remediation by AccuStar. However, this was not the case and even their vice president was rude to us on the phone! Trust us, you do not want to deal with AccuStar! They caused us to have to start the whole process of getting quotes again from other companies which resulted in further mold spreading throughout our basement! I am very allergic to mold and am asthmatic! I had been very sick for a long time due to this mold, yet AccuStar didn't care about my health; all they cared about was making money! Definitely no it a company that should have a good rating with Home Star!

Elizabeth and her team at Accu-Star did a fantastic job removing the mold from my master bedroom. When I met Elizabeth for the consultation she was very professional and she provided me with their quote in a timely manner. She also helped reassure me that the mold damage was not as bad as I thought. Which was comforting. The team did a excellent job removing the mold. They were very clean and were very efficient. Great customer service. I highly recommend Acc-Star!

I want to write this review to tell people that Accu-Star is the most competent, honest and fair company out there!!! They are a company that cares about your family and wants you and your kids to be safe. They keep working and working until the air is completely safe for you to breathe and every last bit of toxic material is gone...and they are neat, punctual and they really know their stuff. Our basement was damaged by the July rain. We had damage to the flooring and some drywall in the back part of our house and knew that we had mould as a result. Before we found out about HomeStars, we just did a Google search...and called this other company....big mistake..We were ripped off big time by this other company who came in, looked at our basement and told us that we had mould...we KNEW that. They charged us $400 just to write a cut and paste a report saying that we had mould...no air quality testing, nothing. They didn't even try to tell us what kind of mould it was!!! Then along comes Elizabeth and her team. Within 5 minutes they had discovered mould in another place that we didn't even know we had mould in...and we had been breathing it in for a long time... She took a sample and told us that even if we didn't go with her company she was going to get it tested as she knew we had kids and this was in their playroom and she wanted us to know what kind of mould we were dealing with. Because she cares. It came back really high for black mould... They cleaned everything up and were so careful with all of our things. Then we discovered we had asbestos tile underneath another area of the floor and they cleaned that up too! They were very, very reasonable in their pricing...so much lower that everyone else and they came the same day that we called them. I can't say enough about them. If you want your house to be treated with respect and a top quality job done at a great price with great people to work with then this is your company. If we hadn't found them, our kids would still be breathing in that toxic mould... and we would never have known because your couldn't smell it or see it and it was not in the area of the house that had had the leak. They are the best. No other company compares. The rest just tried to rip us off (often quoting double the price that Accu-Star did!) I think they are hands down, the best company that we have ever dealt with. Thank you, Elizabeth!
