    Basement Crack

Mario and his associate came to my house regarding two small leaks in the basement. After evaluating the situation they found that it was due to the builder not sealing the windows properly with silicon. Something other contractors just look at quickly and told me $300 to inject it. What? That's people not being honest and trying to make a buck. Mario showed me where it was coming in and where i could silicon it. NO CHARGE. I also showed him a large foundation crack (AFTER THE OTHER ISSUE) in the wall which was also visible on the outside of the property. Two days later they came back and fixed it. On time and for the same price quoted. I'm Like you, always saying "Can I trust that contractor?" With Mario and MMT from my experience yes you can.

    Basement waterproofing

Besides coming when they said they would, doing an excellent job and cleaning up any mess, Mario returned without prompting in the spring to re-lay our interlocking brick that he needed to pull up. I would recommend him again without hesitation.

    Foundation Crack

From the moment Mario came for an estimate it was clear that he knew what he was doing. Not only was his quote half of what the other guys had quoted me, but I flat out asked him about this and he explained things to me clearly about how his company operates and how he doesn't see the need to try and gauge the customer. Having a foundation leak is a scary thing for anyone, especially for a new homeowner like myself. He turned a very stressful situation into a quick, efficient and cost-effective repair. I'll recommend him to anyone who experiences similar problems. DO yourself a favour and call. I'm absolutely sure his price will blow all the others out of the water.

    waterproofing of foundation

We used MMT to waterproof half of our basement from years of moisture seeping through the foundation walls. We obtained several quotes before hiring MMT. Not only was their price the lowest, but Mario was polite, knowledgable and professional. We made the right choice. Mario has been a pleasure to work with - he is responsive and honest - a complete pleasure to work with. His team arrived on time and got the job done efficiently. They left the site clean. Mario explained (in great detail) what was done to remedy the leaks, etc. He went above and beyond to ensure that I was satisfied. Mario even followed up after the first heavy rainfall to ensure that no water was leaking through the walls they had waterproofed. I'm very pleased. Hire MMT. You will not be sorry.

    Foundation Repair - Waterproofing

I had a basement mold problem. After investigating, I found several cracks in my foundation. I received a few estimates, including one from MMT Waterproofing. Mario came out and saw my house. In my opinion, he was objective, up front and his price was very reasonable (the best of the lot). He provided me with a copy of his WSIB coverage which is crucial. He even let me talk to previous customers and see one of his projects. I have a construction safety background and I was impressed with the work he was doing and how his job sites were run. I did my research. Once I selected MMT, Mario arranged to do my repair very quickly. He completed the job in one day and stayed late to complete the repair because of rain being forecast for the next day. The job site was cleaned up without a trace of MMT being there. My basement is dry and (fingers crossed) no more cracks in the future. I would highly recommend Mario and MMT Waterproofing again, and I have referred this company to others already.

    Full basement waterproofing

Mario and his crew did a great job for us. They were on time and on budget. Mario was very clear with us about what needed to be done and why. The price was better than average for the work (hand digging the entire perimiter (150 feet) parging, replacing weeping tiles etc.) They were very considerate, always doing their best to keep things neat and clean. They were careful with the nieghbour's property even when the space was very tight between the houses. They were also very tolerant of my curious kids. Most importantly, my basement is completely dry. My thanks to Everyone at MMT.

    Basement Waterproofing

Mario & the boys from MMT Waterproofing did a great job. We had water coming into the basement through a crack in the poured foundation. To get at the crack, they needed to open up our deck first, then dig down and do the job. The best part was that Mario called back the day after our first significant rainfall to check that the basement was still dry.

    Waterproofing Basement Crack from Outside

After searching on HomeStars for reputable waterproofing companies to deal with the multiple cracks in my basement, I narrowed it down to three companies. I then checked out each company's website and phoned each one of them. I soon decided that it was Mario from MMT Waterproofing who I would first call for an estimate. (I had also done my research and KNEW that so-called polyurethane/epoxy resin crack-filling was NOT the answer - only waterproofing from the outside really works.) For the first phone call, Mario was totally professional and took the time to explain carefully and clearly his services. He didn't try to hustle me off the phone like some contractors do. He was polite, friendly and courteous. I thanked him and he asked me to call him again if I had any more questions. So the next week, I called him over to my house for an estimate. He came down to the basement, taking off his shoes (this is important!). He looked carefully at every crack and hole in the basement walls and explained carefully the reason why they were leaking and why mold was growing there. He then explained what should be done about them. Digging around the entire foundation of the house and waterproofing the foundation walls from the outside was the complete answer, but we let Mario know that we were on a budget. So, he suggested that we repair just the areas with cracks/holes from the outside. He also took a look at our biggest crack (and biggest problem) and showed us how someone tried to repair it with a polyurethane filler that subsequently failed. We thanked him and he didn't try to pressure us into making an appointment for the actual service. Then, approximately two weeks later, we decided to have Mario and MMT Waterproofing fix only one crack (the most severe one) and see how well a job he did (we were being cautious, as we had bad experiences before). So, I called him up and we made an appointment. I must also mention that he totally remembered me and the layout of my house. He took the time to again explain what he would do. Finally, the day arrived when Mario's team would come to do the work. They were slated to arrive at 8:00 a.m., but Mario phoned to say they would be approximately 30 minutes late, due to having to finish up another job from the night before. Calling when you're going to be late tells you a lot about someone's character! They then arrived at the time they said they would, and they dug beside the house where the crack was for a steady two hours and once down to the footing, reported to us that our weeping tile was actually still good. Then, they cleaned the foundation wall where the crack was, applied their stuff (not sure exactly what all the various things were, but it included some black tar and of course, the waterproofing plastic sheathing). Then, they put gravel down at the bottom, filled the dirt back in, and put more gravel at the very top. I must also mention that we had a tonne of bricks piled up right where they were to dig, and they neatly removed them and piled them up somewhere else. The next day, Mario came back to collect his cheque and thanked me again. It has been about a month since MMT Waterproofing did their work to my basement and we've seen some medium-volume rain and the wet rain-snow of Dec. 9, 2009 (the first snow of the year), and it's been dry as a bone! I'll have to see how it is in Spring when everything starts to melt! Just based on the service alone, I would recommend Mario and MMT Waterproofing to anyone out there. In fact, I will probably need his services in the future to completely fix the rest of the basement cracks (when the budget allows). In terms of actual technical skills, I can say that the job they did was A+ (based on my own research of what should properly be done). Thanks Mario and the MMT team. Update: It is now April, 2010 and the basement has remained completely dry! Normally, there would be a huge pool of water once the winter snow melted... but it's completely dry. MMT did a good job, that's for sure.

    Basement Waterproofing & Insulation

MMT Waterproofing were on time, on budget and provided superior workmanship. Their fee was very competitive - in fact I was able to add insulating the exterior of the basement as well, which will save me money in the long run! Everything was left incredibly tidy and clean after they were finished. Mario was very patient in answering all my questions. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. I am happily looking forward to a dry and warm basement from now on.
