We hired Plantit Builders to complete our basement. I was very satisfied with the service provided from planning, budgeting, initial design and drafting the requirements. However, after the project Co-ordinator commenced the construction work we didn't see any commitment or accountability on his part towards our project. Timelines were not adhered to, no work for almost 4 weeks and there wasn't any transparency in terms of communication. Having mentioned that, when we escalated our concerns to the General Manager - Beau Nychka, he took immediate actions. Joe parker was our new Project Manager. Things were more streamlined and accounted for once he took over. We were provided project updates at the end of each week for the work that is scheduled to be completed in the coming weeks and also if there were any unforeseen delay that were expected with detailed explanation for it. Joe was always available for taking care of any concerns or for accommodating any changes requested. We are very impressed with his quality of work. The ratings are provided considering the new Project manager and experience with other divisions of Planit Builders.

We had PlanIt finish our basement. They listened to our ideas in how we wanted it developed. The crew lead by John P. Was great. John. Kept us in the loop on what was happening and was easy to reach when we needed him. A great experience overall .

We hired Planit Builders June 10, 2015 to build our basement and garage. 
The projects cost over $95,000.00 and took until July 20, 2016 to complete. Over 13 Months!!
The Estimated Completion for the garage was Originally Dec. 2015, but was changed to February and cost $34190.84 
The Basement cost over $65,000.00 for 790 sq ft. 
And we did all the painting, supplied door knobs, lights, plumbing fixtures and all appliances!
Just the planning alone took more than 8 months! There were weeks when nothing happened.
Finally constructions began end of March 2016!
Then the fun really began. 
We had to pay extra for a full size kitchen, which is what we requested in the first place.
We had to pay extra to have the electrical panel moved. Also requested at the beginning.
We had the place rented for July 1st, 2016. Suite still wasn’t done! 
Luckily the new tenants didn’t have to be out of their house until July 20. 
The tenants did need to move some stuff before the 20th so they put stuff in our garage. 
Just before July 1st we discovered several problems. The kitchen cupboards were measured wrong and we had to put in a smaller sink. Not what I wanted at all.
The only sink that would fit that wasn’t a special order was from Ikea. However Ikea North America no longer had stock and wasn’t getting any more. We have a friend from Norway ask his father to pick one up at Ikea there and Planit would have it shipped to Canada. Took them over a week just to arrange the pick-up, and a month to pay our friend back! The sink was being installed the day our tenants moved in. 
They also measured the laundry room wrong. We had to return the washer and dryer we had bought and get a compact size.
Again, not what we wanted at all for the suite. 
Especially since compact machines are double the price.
Since we couldn’t put a double garage in the back because of city bi-laws, we used up some of the credit to put a cement foundation for our future hot tub as well as the electrical. The electrical had to be redone 3 times. The water pools in the corner of the pad by the wall of the garage.
To save some money, we opted to paint. Really bad idea! 3 three times that we took off to paint the walls or area was a mess. We finally got it all done just before the renters moved in.
Communication with this company other than Beau Nychka is abysmal. Calls to their accountant took weeks. Long gaps in the planning stage. The billing is vague, wasn’t sure what was included and what wasn’t. didn’t find out we needed a curtain rod until the very end as one isn’t included.
Bottom line, only use this company if you have an endless amount of time, money and patience. Other wise look elsewhere.
It would have been less work and hassle for to hire the trades myself to get it done.

What did I like about PLANiT Builders: Loved the promptness of response from our site supervisor to how quickly the whole project went along. Was a very pleasant experience from start to finish. What would you like to see improvement with: Some trades could provide better input to the site supervisor to keep updates accurate to when certain tasks will be completed Am I happy with final product? Yes Would I recommend PLANiT Builders to others? Extreme likely

We hired Planit Builder to do our garage, the price of the garage are fair and they processed everything, we do not have to worry about paper works back and fort to get permit or anything, drawing/ ingeenering layout, they took care of it,their workers are respectful/friendly people. It took them 2 months right to their time range to finished our garage, over all I am pleased because they did an excellent job. I would recommend planit builder to friends and to a anybody.

We had a great Planit Builders experience. We developed 1100 sq ft in our basement and from start to finish were very impressed with how our job progressed and with the responsiveness of the staff. The quality of the work is impressive. We're getting great use of the space now. Thanks to our site supervisor Dale who made sure everything went smoothly, followed up on all our questions and coordinated a great team of contractors.

Would definitely recommend Planit Builders to anyone considering a renovation or development. They were extremely easy to deal with and always kept us up to date with status reports. The quality of the work speaks for itself, and we are extremely pleased with the finished product. These guys are awesome!!

Joe Parker and frank garland shared supervision of our project. We were very happy with the service. Any questions or concerns were quickly acted upon. Garage was completed on time. We loved that Joe and frank always answered their phones. We definitely felt that there was always someone looking out for our best interest. We are happy with the finished garage.

We loved working with PlanIt builders. From start to finish everything went smoothly thanks to the work of our project manager John P. They worked in a fast and efficient manor and catered to our schedules all while keeping our yard as clean as possible. Now we have an amazing finished two car garage with plenty of room for storage. Our experience with PlanIt Builder was amazing. That was our second experience with this company. Two years ago we built our garage with them as well. We were very happy with all the work our project manager John P. did for us. He was great and everything run so smoothly we couldn't believe it. He kept us all the time informed about the work progress, and the work was very well done and in time. We are very happy with the outcome of our basement and we will recommend PlanIt Builder to our friends.
