Harold was great. He managed to salvage our almost 100 year old floors upstairs and replaced our main floor with new hardwoods. He refinished and stained the whole house to match. He did all of this on a tight timeline as we had guests coming to stay and needed it done by a certain date. We love our new floors!

My son and his family, living in the USA, bought a fixer upper in East Toronto. My husband and I removed the broadloom on their first floor and found quarter cut oak floors that had been damaged by a poor refinishing job. After taking off broadloom, underlay, linoleum and 1940 newspapers stuck to the floor, we found painted tongue in groove pine on the second floor. Some of the people we had in to quote told us to cover the floors with laminate. Others said they would do it but were less than enthusiastic. Harold came in, gave us a competitive quote, and assured us that refinishing the floors was the best way to go. He showed great expertise on completing a very challenging project, was truly accommodating, and took great pride in his work. The results were fabulous. Harold re-finished our oak stairs and very old, very hard floors in May and June 2013. What I like about Harold is that he talks you through everything he is going to do, and makes sure you are comfortable. He was also very accommodating to our schedule. In the end, he was able to bring new life into old floors, and we're very happy with the results.

In April/2013 we hired Harold to sand & refinished the floors in our 2nd floor two bedrooms, the adjoining landing & stairs. We could not be happier with the results!!! Before Harold's expert work , all of the wood floors & stairs had different old finishes on them & they all were in pretty bad shape. Now they look better than new & all match & flow from room to room! Harold was very helpful & very patient in helping me choose the stain color. He took the extra time sanding the stair treads in order to level & take out all unevenly worn areas & they look amazing ! Harold is a true craftsman & cares about the end results! Professional, knowledgeable, helpful, honest, always courteous & and just the nicest guy ever!!!! We will be calling Harold to refinish the remaining floors on the main floor of our home & would highly recommend Harold!

I had a disaster from booking another company. I called Harold and he sanded what seemed to be painted stain on the wood, and made my floors look beautiful. It was a big job- the floors had just been poorly (over)stained- and he not only made my floors look beautiful but was one of the nicest guys I have ever met. After making my floors look great, he even called back to make sure I absolutely loved them, which I did!

Paul and Harold came in to do our floors on very short notice so we could have them done before we moved in. They worked hard and were finished ahead of schedule and under budget! They were thorough, honest and did a great job bringing the floors in our 80+ year old house back to life. We're very happy with the work they did and will hire The Floormen again in the future when we're ready to replace the ceramic tiles in our kitchen with hardwood.

Paul, Harold and their team did a terrific job on a challenging job. They encountered everything that an 80-year old home could throw at them in terms of surprises and dealt with it in a timely, cost-effective way all the while we were on vacation. Would absolutely recommend them.

The Floormen is an excellent company. We had asked them to repair and sand our 90 year oak floor, adding stain and 3 coats of polyurethane. To accommodate the schedules of other contractors, I had to ask Paul to move their starting date back several times, and Paul completely accommodated this with no problem. They also completed the project in the projected time frame. They came on the agreed date and started the repairs. Some flooring had to be pulled, the worst area being where an old fireplace had been where the flooring was positioned 90% to the rest of the floor. What was really clever was their technique of interspacing old and new wood to cover the area. Obviously they had done this sort of thing many times and knew what they were doing. They kept in constant touch, in one case about the stain we bought. They sent pictures to our remote location so we could approve it. The polyurethane, Polywhey, was again something we bought. They are aware of how to apply all the water based products and so nothing of the materials we supplied presented any problem at all. The result was a great looking floor and we are very satisfied with the company. We would use them again anytime, and recommend them to anyone.

OMG!! The Floormen were absolutely amazing!! They beautifully transformed my living and dining room hardwood floors!! With a great deal of professionalism and courtesy, they removed the factory coating from my old hardwood floors and brought out the gorgeous, grainy Brazilian walnut underneath!! Well done!! Paul and Harold did an awesome job on my hardwood floors. They were very prompt and courteous and left my floors looking brand spanking new. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone considering getting their floors done. They came all the way out to Ajax as well!
