Cutting Edge did a fantastic job replacing our badly worn roof. They were very professional and the new roof looks amazing. The team that did the roof, was very efficient, clean and friendly. Even the neighbours commented on how these guys were very courteous and professional. Top notch roofers from our experience.

After 14 years it was time to replace the roof that the builder had put on our Tribute home. We reached out to a few companies and got prices, including The Cutting Edge Roofing. Robert (owner) was the only one who actually went on to our roof and kindly supplied us with pictures of areas of concern. We obtained the quote in the fall but did not take immediate action as we hoped to be able to sneak in another winter before having to replace the roof. Of course this would be the year when the wind does it's damage and we lost some shingles. Robert came out again and had a temporary fix put in place. When I tried to pay him he advised that if we went with his quote we could just consider it part of the job. I paid a small deposit and we agree to talk again in a few months once it warmed up. At not time did we feel pressured into anything or any attempt to up sell. We met a week ago to sign the contract and to pick out our shingle colours. Robert brought samples out for us to view and described the difference between the types and qualities. As promised Robert's team arrived on time. moved anything needing to be moved and ensured total clean up when they were done. Jimmy (site supervisor) sent us pictures upon completion showing us the various stages of work. This was very much appreciated. Overall all just a great experience. I would also like to note that their price was not the cheapest I received but after reading all the reviews an the service level we received during the quoting phase we decided to go with whom we thought we could trust. Very professional company. They did a fantastic job. They even emailed pictures of the job to us. The only company to offer us Owens Corning shingles which was important to us. They also provided 6 ft ice shield where the other companies (4 other companies quoted us) only offered 3 ft. They also used a high quality underlay. Very friendly and very professional group. I asked 3 highly rated roofing contractors on Homestars in the fall of 2015 to quote on installing a new roof on my house. Robert is the owner of The Cutting Edge Roofing and he wants to inspect the roof of any prospective client and provide a quote which is a task not handled by the owners at a lot of other companies who tend to rely on estimators. I believe this allows Robert to more effectively manage the overall process from start to finish. His quote was competitive, but included extra features (e.g. 6 feet of ice and water protection) that other vendors wouldn't provide. I did my homework and learned the Cutting Edge is one of the few roofers in the GTA certified by Owens Corning to install their shingles which was another strong selling point which goes beyond merely looking at the cost figures alone. This is a very important point...you have to look at various factors to do an apples to apples comparison and read the quotes carefully and ask questions if anything is unclear. The strong warranty was also a plus. I also liked the fact that Robert let me pay for a portion of the cost using a credit card, whereas the other vendors did not offer any credit options. Robert was unable to replace my roof during the fall due to existing orders, but because he wanted the business (and I was willing to wait to have the best company do the job), he installed a tarp on my roof to protect some potentially vulnerable areas until he could complete the work in May 2016. He even installed a brown tarp at my request so it would blend in with my existing roof as much as possible. This involved extra work for him, with no extra cost to me, other than paying a reasonable deposit when he installed the tarp to ensure I would stick with his company when the job was performed months later. The work was completed in one day in May 2016 and the roof has held up quite well so far. Robert also replaced the roof on the little shed in my backyard. He surprised me by putting in a high quality roof on the shed (including valleys!!), so it looked much sharper than I had envisioned. All these little extras add up and reinforce the fact that Robert and his crew take pride in their work and care about their customers.

Company was recommended to us by another contractor doing electrical work in our home. They cut the roof to connect a bathroom vent. Small job but also informed us our roof was in good shape and thought it would last several more years. Also sealed a couple cracks in 2 bathroom stacks without charging. Very polite. Would definitely call in for advice/work when roof needs replacing.

Very easy to deal with company, show up and do exactly what they said they would. Full quote in writing provided along with pics of the condition of the my roof beforehand. I had been quoted less and much more, but I went with Rob and co because the ease of doing business. They started as I walked my kids to school and were done before I brought them home. I was experiencing a leak in my roof at the skylight. I called 3 companies for estimates, each said the plywood under the shingles had to be replaced. When giving the estimate, Rob gave us a couple of options for the type of plywood and shingles. After hearing my desires to have a long life single and mould-free wood, he recommended 1/2 inch mould resistant plywood (replacing the 1/4 that was there) and 50 year shingles. He also insisted to have additional ice shield in the roof valleys and 6 feet around the eves of the house - to which I was vary happy to agree. The job took a day and a bit to complete. They even gave me pictures before, during and after the process. I sent these to my insurance company and they removed restrictions on my roof. Everyone at The Cutting Edge was great, from Rob and Jimmy to all the team that worked on my roof. I would recommend them to any one. They did a great job and if I needed it in the future (which would not be for another 50 years!), I would absolutely use them again. Great job guys!

An upper level Reno revealed evidence of a roof leak. After getting 4 quotes, I decided to go with The Cutting Edge Roofing. It wasn't the most economic quote but based on thoroughness of the quote which included replacement of roof boards if needed, the recommendation of a neighbour, and the professionalism of Robert, I decided to have them replace my roof. He was the only one who assured me that if he couldn't replace the roof before it snowed that he would weather proof it to prevent any further damage at no extra cost. The job done in one day before the first snowfall. Before and after pictures were provided and areas of concern and solutions were explained to me. I'm a very satisfied customer.

We bought our home about 3 years ago and we knew at that time that we were going to need a new roof. Our new home as a whole, was a fixer upper and the list of repairs was long..and costly. We agreed to finally tackle the roof this summer and did what most home owners do, we contacted a few roofers in our area and price matched etc. But a roof is a big purchase and one that you have to be confident in both the product and the installation and as this is generally a trade that the average homeowner can't do themselves, you have to be 100% confident in your choice. The Cutting Edge Roofing gave us, without question, that level of confidence. The owner was extremely knowledgeable and patient with my questions (I had a lot) and his crew was second to none! These guys were there from sun up to sun down to ensure that our job was done right. We never felt that they were rushing the job, and the level of communication from The Cutting Edge Roofing to us as homeowner and from the crew of The Cutting Edge Roofing to homeowner was literally from the commencement of the job to the completion of the job. The crew even took the time to give us photos of the before and afters which was extremely helpful and appreciated. I would highly recommend The Cutting Edge Roofing. When it comes to a job this big, you go with the company that has the experience, a thorough understanding and the knowledge of the industry and a crew that will get the job done right.

Here’s my story. I have learned that the cheapest is not necessarily the best. Six years ago I got a new roof and it was put on top of the old shingles. At that time I got six quotes and went with the cheapest. Needless to say, within five months I had a leaky roof. I called them back many times to repair the leak. They eventually came but never repaired it properly – and my friend and I had to do a homemade patch job. It’s held until now, but I decided not to push my luck any longer. The time had come to get a proper new roof. I began the process of getting quotes and through Homestars I came across Robert at The Cutting Edge Roofing company. Having learned my lesson, I knew what I was looking for and Robert met all my requirements. I’m glad I went with my gut feeling this time and chose The Cutting Edge Roofing. They were not the most expensive, nor they were not the cheapest, but they were very reasonable. The crew of seven men arrived on the agreed upon date and time. They were professional and efficient. They were respectful of my property and took all necessary measures to ensure a safe and clean workplace. They worked quickly and the clean up was very thorough. It was a pleasure to get the service we agreed upon, for which I was paying. In fact, they went beyond what our contract stated; whether it was extra vents or repairing wood on the roof, there was never a question. When the owner of the company gets his hands dirty and works with his crew of seven, you know he takes great pride in the work his company does. Robert was on site to ensure the job was up to his high standards and that I was absolutely satisfied. Jimmy, the site supervisor, also worked alongside his crew. As promised, he took pictures of each step of the job so I could see the work being done up on the roof. In my case, that wasn’t necessary, as I joined them on the roof and the crew were very accommodating. I highly recommend The Cutting Edge.
