Water was leaking from the ceiling in my son's bedroom so I went to the Homestars website and called three roofing companies who had excellent ratings. One company never called me back and someone from another company was all set to come out until he heard where I lived and then told me "we don't come out that far" even though their website said that Scarborough was one of the areas they serviced. Then I called The Cutting Edge Roofing. Robert came out that same day. He went up on the roof and took pictures. I had been hoping we could get away with having the leaky area repaired but when Robert showed me the pictures I could see what poor condition the whole roof was in. He emailed the pictures to me so I could show my husband who was not home at the time. I had Robert come back to give me an estimate for a new roof. He clearly explained what needed to be done as there were some additional issues with our carport, such as sagging joists, a skylight that we decided to have closed in and a beam on the side of the carport that was completely rotted out. Robert explained to me that he would not be able to do the work for a few weeks as he was solidly booked and was running behind schedule due to some rainy days . He personally came over at 8 o'clock one night (probably on his way home after a long day of work ) to put a tarp over the section of the roof where water was coming in so that we wouldn't have any more leaks in the meantime. The day Robert and his crew came to do the roof they worked non-stop and finished most of the work in one day and then came back the next morning to do the rest. Robert impressed me as a sincere, hard-working individual who takes pride in the work he and his crew do. Our new roof looks great! I would not hesitate to recommend The Cutting Edge Roofing.

don't know much about roofing but Robert, the owner, came across as a really genuine and knowledgeable guy when I first met him. His quote was not the cheapest, but by no means the most expensive I received, so I decided to give his company a go. The guys showed up the day the roof job was promised, and my roof had been re-shingled within two days. That was a shockingly short turnaround time for a 5 bed house, but the job was done to perfection and to a very high specification. I also asked Robert to get his people to do my roof trimmings in aluminum, and this was done with the minimum of fuss and on budget also. The great thing about Robert is that he is a hands on person, who gets his hands well and truly dirty. He also takes great pride in his work. If you want no nonsense, high quality roofing at a great price, call Cutting Edge and don't bother with the rest.

Rob Landry and his crew are FANTASTIC! Rob came by to give us an estimate on the job, then returned a second time when we had questions and revisions. He showed us many pictures of other jobs his company had done around Ontario. Although they couldn't replace our roof immediately because they had been so busy with other jobs, Rob personally came to our house to secure a tarp over the leaky area of the roof to tide us over until the full job could be done. Once they had time to do our roof, they worked efficiently as a team and completed the job in one day, including a perfect clean up! Their price was in the middle of the range we received from a total of 5 contractors. I would hire them again in a minute and would recommend them to anyone! FANTASTIC

I gave Robert and his team a 10.0. I was referred to Robert by my Realtor. I already had a good roofer in mind and on standby for when I was ready to replace the upper roof but, when I got ready to sell, my Realtor recommended I talk to Robert at The Cutting Edge Roofing. I solicited quotes from both companies requesting a primary bid plus an amount if the roof boards had to be replaced based on upgrading from the existing 3/8 inch minimum builder’s spec to ½ inch plywood. I also specified the need for a warranty that would be transferable to the new owner. The Cutting Edge Roofing won the bid in every respect. Rob was on-site within 48 hours and left a complete quote in my mail box which included roof board replacement with 5/8 inch plywood at no additional charge and shingles with lifetime warranty. He included a copy of the shingle manufacturer’s transferable warranty and his price was totally competitive with the other roofer. He also included a recommendation and quote for replacing the valleys on the lower roof which had been done 3 years earlier by a different roofer but the valleys had leaked and been repaired. When I called to tell Robert he had the business he was booked up for at least two weeks. I considered that a good sign. The next day he called me back. He had a cancellation and was able to fit me in later the same week. He had responded to my urgent need to get the roof replaced before listing the house for sale. The upper roof was replaced to perfection and the clean up was immaculate. Nothing was left behind! In addition, Robert installed custom fit , prepainted, metal valleys, in the lower roof, replaced the shingles on each side of the valleys and replaced shingles that had been perforated by the previous roofers repair work. The look was totally enhanced and the home was ready for sale with complete roof integrity. I will recommend Robert and his company every chance I get. I have already called him in to do some maintenance work on our new place.

I have a townhouse with a flat roof which was not leaking, but was ponding in a couple of areas and holding way too much water for too long. I asked Robert Landry of The Cutting Edge Roofing to inspect it and provide a recommendation. Robert advised that the roof was not in a bad condition so I did not have to do anything immediately. However, we both agreed that in the event the roof developed a leak , especially during the Winter I would have to deal with a lot of water. In light of this and the fact that the existing roof was over 15 years old I decided I wanted to install a new roof now. I was not comfortable leaving it as is. Robert provided two options and recommended that I do the one with the lower price because either would do the job and both carried the same 10 year guarantee. I concurred and he brought in his team and installed the new flat roof. They did the job in a day and did a excellent job. They built up the roof and sloped it from the front and sides towards the scupper at the rear which will ensure that buildup and retention of water in future will be minimized. I found his people professional, easy to deal with and the overall quality of their work high. It was a real pleasure dealing with Robert who impressed me as someone who really cared for his customer, took his time to explain everything to me and I feel that I got good value for my money. I guess there are really some "good guys" in the roofing industry.

We had a 5800 sq. ft. roof that required re-shingling plus we wanted to add 2 skylights. We decided to go with Robert because he took the time to explain to us what he was going to do, why he was doing it that way (because it was the right way) and that he was not going to sell us something we didn't need, nor was he going to take any shortcuts. We could tell right away that Robert was going to treat our roof like it was his own and that was exactly what we were looking for in a contractor. The job was completed without any surprises, up-selling or changes to our quote. We were so impressed with the work Robert and his crew performed....they are professional, honest, respectful and hard working men. Robert knows his trade well and his high standards show in the work he and his crew perform. Probably the best way to describe him is like the "Mike Holmes" of roofing. He truly has his clients best interest at heart and that is something very rare these days. One important note, Robert is unlike other contractors who only give you what is in the contract...he goes over and above your expectations with what he delivers...he gives you more than 110%. So, if I could give him more than a 10 star rating, I would!

Robert responded promptly to my request for an estimate. Upon arrival he inspected the roof and provided a detailed estimate for the job. The job was priced well, not the cheapest and not the most expensive of the other three quotes - no padded estimates. He was knowledgable and covered off all of the required services, costs and answered all of my questions. As a late-season job we had to work around the weather, once we got a break the team showed up and worked relentlessly into the evening. It was a bit hard to see all of the clean up required because they finished up in the dark, so Robert came back the next day to clean up and complete a few touch ups.

Reqest for quote was acted on quickly and resulted in a therough and informed consultation with no unnecessary upsell pressure. A detailed written quote wuth tentative scheduling was provided with no pressure to sign immediatly. Actual work was completed ahead of the anticipated date, and during the interim we were automatically kept updated of weather related shedule changes Work was executed efficently, ahead of time, and as agreed to without hassle by a productive and knowledgable crew with minimal disruption to ourselves. Cleanup was immaculate. This is truly a professional company that knows its buisness, and does it well.

Robert and his crew did a fantastic job. Robert was very knowledgeable and only reccomended upgardes that made sense to me. He did not try to over sell me on the job. They were on time, courteous and not a speck of roofing material or debris left behind. If it had not been for the roof colour change you would not have know that they were here. The price was very competative and I would not hesitate in reccomending them. I have absolutely no complaints regarding this job.
