Homes by Avi was amazing for us! The whole process was excellent and we would recommend them to friends and family for sure. From the selection process to the building we were always kept in the loop and excited for the next week. The sales staff (Amy and Reg) in the show home in Walden were great to deal with and always accommodating to us. We are 4 months moved in and no complaints!Review from Customer of Homes By Avi Inc. I have previously built four new homes in Calgary but this one, built by Homes By AVI supercedes all other experience. The customer service from Amy and Reg was incomparable. They were friendly, informative, kind and prompt. The workmanship was superior and I received so much more for the price. I recommend Homes by AVI for that extremely satisfying experience.Review from Customer of Homes By Avi Inc. Customer of Homes By Avi Inc.

We had an amazing experience working with the entire Homes By Avi team. Reg and Amy were so informative and helpful throughout the whole buying process. Our possession date was right on time and went very smoothly! Any concerns we had were dealt with in a timely manner and with a courteous attitude, something we really appreciated. The area superintendent, Andy, is an absolute pleasure to deal with. You can tell he is an extremely experienced home builder and takes pride in every home he oversees. Our kitchen was minimally upgraded and guests always comment on how much they love it and can't believe they were all standard selections! We know we made the right choice in buying a Homes By Avi house!Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

My husband and I had an incredible experience working with Home by Avi to build our dream home in Walden. Every department was run so efficiently and each group along the way made us feel so comfortable and assured us throughout the entire process. Starting with the sales team, they walked us through everything we needed in an extremely efficient manner and was able to answer and assure us of all of our many questions and insecurities that come from clients who have never built a home before. There are many building choices to choose from with Homes By Avi and there is so much flexibility you can have with each house build you choose. The sales team is excellent at walking you through all of these options to make you feel comfortable and confident in the home you choose. The interior design team helped us through all of the detailed decision-making that was required and helped us pair colours and designs together that we would have never been able to put together ourselves. The standard packaging that Homes By Avi provides with their homes is very high-end and desirable. The marketing team was equipped with all the documentation any new home builder would ever want to have about building their first home and everything was put together very professional and organized. The warrantee team has been diligent at making sure all of our questions and items that need to be addressed with a new home were not only answered but also addressed extremely efficiently. Everyone has been so wonderful to work with and we would highly recommend using Homes By Avi as the company to build your next home with!Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

From the beginning my experience with Homes by Avi has been nothing but positive. As a first time home buyer I had a lot of questions which were all answered and addressed. I was incredibly happy that they allowed me to make some changes here and there such as door height, flooring material, conduits for my now mounted TV etc. These changes made my home feel more personalized for my needs and wants. My 3 month warranty meeting is coming up and I have no complains. The sales team (Anita), Warranty (Nonie and Paul), construction (Kyle) have all been amazing to work with! I will always recommend Homes by Avi to my family and friends and they will be my first choice when I look at building my second home in the future.Review from Laura Styler Laura Styler

Where do I start. Was so excited to buy a Homes by Avi spec home, looked beautiful and was excited on this journey as a first time home buyer. Lets start, they do NOT disclose anything, unless you do your research and know what questions to ask, they will not tell you anything. This is their sales tactic. Be warned, they fit electric water tanks (not disclosed unless you read every single document, then you will find it but they certainly do not tell you), this is a cost saving on their part as electric tanks are cheaper. They sales staff do not always tell the truth or mis-communicate things. We were told by a sales staff member that a reason they changed out their windows from a 2 story (18ft drop) pane of glass to divided glass was that 'it looked to grand among the other houses', of course, found this was untrue! Upon pre-inspection of the new home, we found out that our shower glass was too short for my 6ft1" fiance and the tiling was messy and not flush to the shower glass cubicle. We were told that this was a standard shower height (it does have a frame) and that the showroom was an upgrade - again, if this is true, not disclosed, not in any of our documents stating the size or anything as 'standard'. The Selections Centre Manager tried to tell us that the standard size they fit of shower glass is 5ft5" to 5ft8" which is ridiculous!!! That is not a standard size, she also went on to explain and send photos of what we shower height we had, it certainly was not and my fiance would take off his head just trying to get in the shower!! They tried to charge us for this, as they kept saying it was an "upgrade". We argued it out and after them trying to intimidate us to get us to back down, they agreed and absorbed the cost themselves!! This should have been done without the battle. They had over two weeks to do it and ensured us it would be done before possession. It wasn't so had to chase them up to make sure it would be done. Tried calling the General Manager but he appeared to hang up midst conversation and never responded to voice mails, we showed up at the Avi offices as that was the only way to make sure we could deal with someone. It was eventually done the day after possession! Now we have issues with our balcony door with water pooling in as there is no proper seal on it and it isn't flush to the frame, or driveway is eroding and the concrete under the steps are eroding, we had a crack in our basement wall that was leaking in water we found on moving day, that has been filled but it is an issue that shouldn't have happened. I understand settling cracks in the concrete floor, but the foundation wall!! Its been an endless battle and that is just after 3 weeks of moving in. I dread to think what I will find wrong next!! Do not build with them, they unprofessional approach, bad product and attitude of using intimidation and trying to make people give up is appalling for a company of this size!! Never ever again would I use or recommend this company!!!Answer from pro:

Haven purchased 3 new homes I would say this last one had the most issues. I had to contently be watching to make sure what we agreed to happened. Going through the finishing process was painful. Constant mistakes were made almost every time communicated. The issues didn't end at the sale side. They only care about the sale, so once you take possession, good luck having your concerns dealt with then. They hide behind Alberta New Home warranty program for everything. So if you have an issue that isn't a major defect you are on your own! For the amount we paid for the home, I expect a certain level of customer service. Avi does not care. I would not recommend them to my family or friends after the way they treated us in the end.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Everything seemed to be going well. We bought a unit at Canoe that was to be a rental property last summer and will be taking possession in August. This spring, we find out that our previous possession date was moved from Sept or Oct to July or August. When questioned, AVI representatives stated that this has been repeatedly identified in frequent emails. As it turns out, there were more than one email lists and the most used had the WRONG address for us! We had missed countless emails and construction updates and now we're to prepare for possession in as little as a month. After a stressful period things died down. When it came to closing the deal, yet another error on AVIs part occurred which has cost us dearly. And the worst part of it all, absolutely no effort to rectify the situation. In fact, the area sales manager has insinuated that we never did identify the unit as a rental property! From the very beginning we were very clear of the point and several emails have been sent bs k and forth asking various questions about tenants, rentals, rental income etc. But why the big deal?? Because if a condo is to be a rental, the GST rebate does not apply. That would have saved us over $4000 and was identified on our purchase agreement. So now all of a sudden we are on the hook for thousands of dollars that we had never agreed to plus additional legal fees in order to clean up AVIs mess. AVI then submitted the wrong SIA which very nearly cost us many more thousands in late fees. And when approached by us asking them to consider rectifying the situation by even paying the extra legal fees that were brought on by THEIR errors, I was told that we never told them it was a rental property. Deciet and complete unprofessionalism is what you will find with AVI in Calgary.
