    Beautiful House!

    We took possession of our Homes By Avi home in Walden two weeks ago. Since the moment we walked into the show home and met Michelle and Amy we have had nothing but positive experiences. They are friendly, professional and patient as well as their design staff and all the rest of the people we've dealt with to help us in the process. The Walden team was wonderful to work with and highly recommend!

    Purchased Home

    First things first, I have purchased two properties from two different home builders and after having dealt with both, it is safe to say I would NEVER purchase another property from Homes by Avi and I would not recommend them to family or friends. There were issues throughout the entire purchasing process. Every time we tried to bring these issues up with management, we were treated terribly and none of our concerns were ever taken seriously. We were led to believe we would receive certain things included in our property that we realized on the day of possession were not included. The possession date kept getting pushed month after month and the only way we found out about this way by calling them and we always felt as though we were pestering them. I definitely would not recommend this company, as other commenter's have said, I would definitely be leery about purchasing through them.

    Homes by Avi, our best experience

    We received the most greatful and amaizing customer service from all sales staff of Homes By Avi at Walden show home location. We met two wonderful girls who took care of all our needs and made our purchasing experience simple the the best experience ever. Fully recomended, if you are looking for a new house do not hesitate to check them out.

    Griesbach Woods Condos

    We have been trying to get HBA to fix our Humidity problem in the Condo units for the last 3 years. Every time it gets above 0 in the winter, it rains out of the ceiling on the top floor. The PM has been promising that it will be fixed...still waiting.

    New Home

    I have recently moved into my new home in Nolan Hill, and other than a few minor touch ups after possession this has been an absolutely terrific experience!!! Homes by Avi made the buying process easy and kept me informed throughout. My selection centre appointments were fun and extremely helpful, and the final product is even better than I thought it could be. I will recommend Homes By Avi to anyone that will listen as we are so incredibly happy that we decided to have them build our home.

    house

    If you are looking to buy a house from this company I'd advise not to do it . My mother spent a lot if money to bulid a house with this company and our house has a methane gas leak that homes by avi have not fixed since our move in date . Terrible company with terrible workers. The people who bulit the house washed down grout in the drain witch has resulted in our house stinking of methane gas which is rediculous bad for your heath . Terrible company who hire stupud people to bulid their houses . Can not stress how terrible this company is and how they treat their customers . Absolutely terrible company .

    New home Construction / final grading

    Where do I begin?... Well.... upfront the Homes by Avi sales team and selection centre team have been great..... courteous and friendly. The NIGHTMARE began once we took possession and Avi had our money. We have been waiting for MONTHS for our final grading to be completed. Everytime we call, no one is there to deal with our call, or we are "brushed aside", or told they are coming by to do some minor unrelated work just to divert us and keep us quiet. We were the 4th or 5th house on our street......and all we see is Trico and Shane houses being constructed around us, and going to completion INCLUDING final grading . Hindsight we would have DEFINITELY gone with another builder because the post possession service by Avi staff is DEPLORABLE. They may think our complaint is just an isolated case, but do they not realize the frustrations we have gone through are witnessed first hand by friends and family? As it stands now..... our neighbour, who ironically is an AVI employee will have his final grading completed the same time as us..... and he took possession 5 months LATER than us. I guess his money has significantly more value than ours......I guess I will go back to my dining room window and stare at my "dirt and leftover construction materials"..... while the neighbours are sodding their yards and building decks. As the saying goes....."Fool me once, shame on you, etc....." You won't get another opportunity!

Grading is considered a seasonal item, as is explained on signed documents when you purchased your home and the updates that were emailed throughout the month of June and July. To complete seasonal work, our trades start at one end of the block and work their way down. It is the most efficient method to complete seasonals in a timely manner. Your neighbours grading was completed at the same time due to this methodology.

    New home

    We moved into our new Homes By Avi (HBA) home in the late summer of 2013. This home looks great but as always there are small issues that crop up. HBA built a nice home and the sales rep Maria was great. Their after service people were great to but the lady we deal with mainly now is "Nicole". For the last year it is like pulling teeth. Nobody wants to but you have to deal with it. She has been unorganized with absolutely no follow up for issues that we have. We were not dealing with her at first but have to now as she took over that spot. The driveway has had an issue for a full year and was booked for repairs through her. Nothing done all last summer. We sent numerous emails and she never got back. When she did she stated they lost the work order and it would be done this year. We are towards the end of July now and nothing. Sent her another call and she is sending a email to the concrete company. Why has she not followed up without being prompted. Also appliances that HBA uses.....go through another manufacturer. You will have less issues. Our fireplace that is 2 yrs old does not work. 3G for it. Nothing they can do for a customer and HBA says oh well. We had issues with microwave and were told it is a inferior design for the type of stove we have. We bought the package they offered. Why were we not told that? The design team in the HBA office does not help. Whenever you make a changes there are benefits and learning experiences. They were no help in planning with our changes. To long of a story to type out. It is a nice home but I would not recommend HBA.

    New Home

    If you want to live in nightmare for the rest of your life, you can go ahead and sign contract with Home By AVI. When you are looking for a new home, and talk to their associates, you may find pretty interesting and may sign contract with them right away. Once you sign contract, your nightmare starts. The nightmare does not end at all. Their construction quality is the worst of all. They don't have anyone to supervise the construction work. They leave all works in workers hand. Cracks in concrete walls and floors are common. Just before handing over the home, they will patch the cracks and hide from you (you may not notice if you don't understand construction). Even if you see cracks, they will tell you that it is common. You will be fixing everything by yourself. If you don't understand construction/engineering, you should not be going to their sales office. They have wonderful sales associates ready to trap you. You should rather spend few $ more and buy from others. I am a civil engineer, and I found very hard to absorb the quality of construction by Home by AVI.

We would, however, like to speak to a couple of your points. In your review, you mention that we 'don't have anyone to supervise the construction work'. To the contrary, Homes by Avi adheres to a strict 6-step quality control process. We are also legally bound to regular inspections from city officials at various stages of the construction process. That being said, you also have a two-year warranty period to ensure that everything is functioning properly. If you have any concerns, you can contact our warranty department directly and they will be happy to address any issues.

    project

    Built a house with Avi, I thought that they were a reputable company to built with them. I wished I had built with one of their competitors, their "estate" spec just seemed too overpriced and don't give you much. Most of their so called "estate" spec doesn't really seem that "estate". Their so called triple car garage isn't that much bigger than some extended doubles. If I built again, I would choose another builder. Also trying to ask their cost per sf to built before signing the contract is almost impossible.
