    3 different bookcase/fireplace mantles installed

    Steven worked on our previous home and I absolutely loved the work he did for us. He did four different bookcase and mantles there snd it transformed our home. Thank goodness we did it because it made our house very easy to sell. It was a no brainer to call Steven to do work on our new house. We needed wall units to surround fireplaces in 2 rooms and a full wall unit for an 85 tv in the basement. These units were much bigger than our previous ones. Steven is such a pleasure to work with. He is helpful with the design, very detail oriented, and most importantly sets expectations for timing and costs. The size of our projects were pretty big and very timing consuming so the cost didnt surprise me. It is always nice to work with someone who seems to love what he does. He was fun to have in the house and the pride he takes in his work really come out in the finished product. I couldnt recommend him enough.

    Custom bookcase for library

    Istvan is an incredible cabinet maker. The bookcase he designed and built was exceptional. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend him without reservation. The quality of the workmanship is fantastic . I will be using him again for another project soon.

    Bedroom Wardrobe

    Istvan (a.k.a. Steve) made a custom built wardrobe for our bedroom, and I could not be any happier. The finished product is high quality, beautiful and well made. We dealt with Istvan for the entire process; he is very polite, knowledgeable and friendly. Overall this was a very pleasant experience, and we enjoyed working with Istvan. I would highly recommend Istvan and his company, and I should I need any more custom work in the future, BFWW will be my first choice.

    Built-in home offices

    I was looking to build custom made home offices for my husband and I. Istvan was responsive from the initial call, very professional in all his interactions with us. The installation was clean and he met the timelines discussed when the contract was signed. We are very happy with the final product, high quality and beautiful.

    Bookcase wall and custom shelving

    Family Room TV Full Wall Built In and Kitchen Pantry

    Beautiful cabinetry designed and installed by Steven, a true professional in his trade. The finished products were way beyond our expectations. The family room cabinetry completes the room. The kitchen pantry matches the existing cabinets spot on. We couldn't be happier. Thank you Steven, your attention to detail ranks you at the top of the list. If you are fussy, this is the company for you. We highly recommend them

    Custom cabinets

    We found Blackforest Woodworking on Homestars based on the reviews. We met with Steven and were very impressed with his knowledge, experience and attention to detail. Steven asked many questions and had many samples and photos of previous work. Every detail was discussed. We met with other contractors, however we were most comfortable with Blackforest woodworking. Steven is involved at every stage and does the installation with another experienced installer. The work was completed quickly and efficiently with minimal disruption. We were very happy with the whole process and especially the end product. We would definitely recommend Blackforest woodworking to anyone. They are not the cheapest, but if you want quality custom cabinets, you won’t be disappointed.

    Two Tone Bookshelves

    Unbelievable professionalism and craftsmanship. We wanted to build a bookshelf in our front room that we are converting into an office space. It needed to be done in specific colours and with specific paint. Istvan and his team delivered and then some. He worked with us on the design and gave suggestions on how we could still accommodate an air vent and power to our speakers. He also worked with our carpenter who was going to install baton and board on the adjacent wall to ensure seamless integration. The end result (see photo) speaks for itself. I highly recommend Black Forest Woodworking and would hire them again for any future woodworking needs.

    Fireplace Built-ins and Mantle

    We chose to explore working with Steven after reviewing this same Homestars profile and we could not be more pleased with his work. We've renovated 3 homes now and Steven is at the very top of the list in terms of professionalism, responsiveness, process, and execution. All I can say is - these reviews and his high rating are right on point - - he's fantastic to work with and the end result blew us away. I cannot express enough that if you are looking to do this type of work - Steven should be your first call.

    Entryway bench and closet
