    An 85 year old Widow

Before you even consider contacting this company, please go to https://www.cbc.ca/search and search Appliance Repair Team. Oddly enough, they're the first story that pop's up...... My Mother in law called for a washer repair and paid $780 cash only to find out a couple of days later that the circuit board would take at least 2 weeks to get so she cancelled the work and purchased a new one but realized she had to pay something for the service call. That something was $380...Pretty expensive but it is what it is. She called every Friday from the start of September asking for her refund cheque. I found out about it in mid-November after her weekly call when she asked her for it to be sent via courier (which they charged her $30 for) and that as well was never received nor sent. How do I know, there was no tracking number. After calling (the Customer Service manager) and leaving no less than 6 messages with no return call I went up there and would not leave until I received the cheque. I was shocked to see phrases written on a glass office window that read "That's a good question, I'll look into that" and "I'd be upset too" leading one to conclude that this is the norm and those are standard replies for Customer Service staff to use.. So, they still deducted the $30 for the courier but now it became a matter of principal so I went up again. Naturally, there was no cheque but again, I wouldn't leave until I received it. With all that said; I expect the company to reply and deny it which appears to be common practice so I will remind Marcella and whomever else over there about Sue from Oshawa as a gentle reminder. This chapter is now closed and Sue will never have need to contact them again and the odds of Sue or I ever recommending them are about the same as a Monkey playing a Tuba flying out of my rear-end! Simply isn't going to happen. Over to you "Appliance Repair Team" and let's hear how you have no record of this or even better, justify it. Dave (the Son-in-Law) from Toronto

    Washer repair

Came to fix our Samsung washer Make me sign to pay for labour $280 +tax Before diagnosis and to pay for parts later . When I found out the tech didn’t have a clue of what was wrong and told me outer tub is cracked and 3 other problems he created ,That was going to cost me over $750.00 .I talked to a girl in the office which was very rude and threatened me to take me to collection and ruin my credit if I don’t pay the $316. I paid $316.40 and went and bought Same washer from the brick with 5 year warranty free delivery and installation and parts and to pick the old one for $900.

    Dishwasher repair

Tech came and "fixed" the dishwasher, in less than an hour, the dishwasher was having the same error. Called the Customer Service people immediately only to be told that the tech could not come back until 3 days later. I said this was unacceptable and asked to get another tech to come only to be told that they would charge me for another visit. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told there was no one there and to call back the next day. I waited and called the next day only to be told that the manager was off and that the only thing they could do was book me for the same time slot 3 days later. When I asked if they could expedite my repair and send another tech, they told me that they would charge me again for the visit. They were completely inflexible and very rude and condescending on the phone. Their lack of willingness to try and rectify the situation was infuriating. I would Strongly not recommend this company to anyone.

    Microwave repair service

Appliance Repair Team Worst repair company I have ever dealt with. The telephone customer staff are rude, not willing to be helpful, had trouble finding my information with each call and they do not announce who they are. I had to ask with each call "Who am I speaking to" then the attitude started. I spoke to 6 different people over the course 2.5 weeks regarding, part delays and repair technician no shows after an appointment was book. The staff would not divulge who the Manager was stating; they can not give out their last name; I have still not hear from the owner or manager. Warning would not recommend this company, very unprofessional and they overcharge for their service. Also on their website they say they accept major credit cards and they do not and they over charge for their parts and repair. Now the repair was done and they call daily to tell me the part is in and to book my repair appointment!

    Non-Transparent pricing strategy

They did the standard $80 dispatch fee, waived if you accept the labour estimate (in this case $280). I asked how much it would cost to replace the washing machines tub and bearings as i was fairly certain this was the issue. He deflected, by saying it was repairable and that it would cost $1400 to buy a replacement to fit in it's place. Against my better judgement I accepted the labour cost and then after 50 minutes of work he came and told me the repair i had originally asked the repair price of would be $908. It's a 15 year old washer and he still tried to pressure me into doing the repair. The total costs would have been $1,350 if i had done them. He even tried to tell me that mine was better as it was a european model and that he could tell because the top was flat... I should have checked with BBB before calling.

The Technician could not fix my dishwasher

A technician from Appliance Repair Team came twice to fix my dishwasher. The first time he tried one part. The second time he tried another every expensive one that I had to pre-pay for. Finally, he could not fix it. He left with the part and the company promised a refund but have not given one.

    Horrible horrible horrible

I called this company to fix my stove. They booked a window with me from 4-8. They didn’t show up, didn’t call, nothing. I reschedule for the next day, had to take time off work. The window was 1-4. My child’s daycare called and I had to leave to pick them up. I left at 3:50. Ten minutes before the end of the window. They came and left me a $90.00 bill. When I called back the “manager” was extremely rude and said you have to pay it or we will take you to collects. Stay away from these people.

    Stay Away - Dishwasher service

I called this company and spoke to the phone rep who said they cost to repair the dishwasher would be $80,00 for the tech to visit and check the dishwasher and provide a provide a quote. Well the tech shows up walks into the kitchen and says it will be $280.00 plus to repair the dishwasher. He did not eve look at the machine to determine what might be wrong. So I asked what the $280.00 was for and he said to hopefully repair the dishwasher but that there would be extra expenses for parts and anything else that might be wrong. I asked what about checking to see what is wrong and the tech said the $80.00 is just to get him to the door nothing else. STAY AWAY....this is an unethical group to use and will take your hard earned $$$$ run away!

    Total waste of money

Asked 2 people on phone before booking appointment for labor cost to fix my microwave. Both said we don't know, but their advertisement says, we will always tell you cost of labor. The tech arrived next day and said 280. flat charge for a micro. Who's going to pay that plus parts to fix a 500 microwave!! FALSE ADVERTISING AND TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!

    still waiting

repair tech showed up to my house to repair a stove, that I had informed has a known problem with the upper door switch/locking latch, he informed me it would cost $280 for the repair plus parts, I informed great get it working. 20 minutes after he was done googling the stove and model he informed this part was discontinued, and presented me with a $316.41 bill for a repair ...? I have to say, I'm a bit confused and a little ticked off, he didn't fix anything as the part is discontinued, but felt it just to charge me $316.41 for a repair...? the tech that showed up spent more time searching the model of the stove on google then anytime actually working on it. more offensive is when he left, I found all the information regarding serial # and model # on the metal plate that is attached to the top left corner of the stove he so called repaired. I have called customer service 4 different times all of which informed they would be getting back to me, "Sonia" who I spoke with this morning informed she would look into this matter and get back to me today. it's now 5:54pm and guess what , I'm still waiting. I have also left 2 messages on the customer services form on their web site and received an email informing someone would be getting back to me. guess what.... I'm Still Waiting Sergio Baylet Cambridge Ontario.
