I have removed this review because M Scott improvements threatened me with legal action. I cannot recommend this company in good faith but I do not want to deal with any more cost or debate about this review.

I have been turning a dilapidated old garage into a workshop over the past year, and needed to replace the floor. I received several quotes for this job, and M. Scott's was not only reasonable (much more than some of the quotes I received), but also covered all of the issues and quirks involved in dealing with a renovation like this which is not straightforward. He was clearly very knowledgeable, and careful to accommodate the needs of the other contractor who I had working on the walls. The job went smoothly, quickly and they did everything as planned.

Very good in communication. Wonderful outcome of project. Remarkable expertise. Project was completed in reasonable time. Very competitive prize ($2500 lower than the next lowest estimate, $7600 lower than the highest estimate!). Most remarkable, the owner of M. Scott Improvements, offered a solution to our water diversion issue that actually saved us money. In other words, we got the feeling that Mike was acting in our best interest, instead of trying to get more money out of us. Most of the ideas we had for a complicated water solution problem at our garage he rejected, and we ended up with a solution that looks good, and was way more affordable. No question, we would hire Mike and his team again.

Mike's team recently came by and turned my shabby asphalt parking pad into a 20'x40' driveway. The work was excellent and my neighbors and even some strangers have commented on how good a job it is. His workers were on-time, on budget and friendly. We had a need for a certain type of grading so rain water would not run-off on to my neighbors property and it was done to perfection.

Mike and his crew recently completed a waterproofing and concrete job at my home. His quote for the job was reasonable and the job completed excellently and in a timely fashion considering the wet weather. Care was done to replace better cement stairs properly at my back door and they made an extra effort to make sure that the flow of water on my front sidewalk was moving away from my house after it rained. Careful thought was done at each stage and completed with pride. They were careful at the end of each day to leave the site clean and tidy. I have no reservations in recommending M. Scott Home Improvements for any related work you may have to be done.

Mike Scott and the two men working for him on the project did an excellent job in all respects. Mike discussed the scope and requirements of the project, was sympathetic to our concerns, offered constructive suggestions and was willing to work around potential problems. The estimated cost was reasonable and in line with other estimates. It was also the final cost. The job involved breaking up a walkway around the house, raising the lips of window wells and grading and pouring a new concrete walk. They arrived when they said they would. They approached the job thoughtfully. The workmanship was solid and the result excellent.. I was especially impressed by the respect they showed for the surrounding area and the care they took going about their work. They protected the flowers in the adjacent beds and only minimally cut into the lawn. They cleaned up thoroughly when they finished and left no mess.. I fully intend to bring Mike in on other jobs and would recommend him without hesitation..

We wanted a nice cement walk out patio. We had a referral from a friend that left us in a lurch and we tried to find someone to finish the job. We needed the cement poured and finalized. We found 5 contacts on the internet..some did not even respond to us and other's prices were sky high..so we took a chance on Mike Scott and his company. Him and his crew were extremely punctual, polite, skilled and professional. They followed up promptly to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs this type of work done.

The work was professionally executed and completed to our satisfaction,permitting an ease of circulation between the two properties,with proper surface water run off to the front and back of each property during heavy rainfall.( time frame was hampered by our severe weather conditions.)

When I posted on this site what project I needed to be done, Michael Scott of M Scott Home Improvements contacted me right away. After seeing pictures of the sidewalk that needed to be replaced I was given a very fair quote. Within a day or two, the workers came and the job was done very quickly, neatly, and professionally. Mike Scott helped us with our 1880's row house to waterproof our basement and pour a new floor. When I emailed via homestars looking for a quote, he was first one to respond. His pricing was fair and we felt confident in his experience. His guys were very polite, on time, and professional. I liked how Mike was on site regularly checking on the status to make sure the work was moving along and that we were happy with the progress. He returned all my calls quickly and even provided a mid project quote as we considered changing the scope of the project. He was patient with us as we put the project on hold for a week to consider underpinning or benching. He had all the required equipment to ensure the job was executed professional - they had bin on our narrow street and took it away at the end of each work day. I can certainly recommend Mike and would use him again for other similar projects.
