Emailed Jeremy regarding replacing my mercury switch assembly in my 20 year old fireplace.Fireplace has been working intermittently over the last couple years so after searching internet for possible cause came to the conclusion that it must bevthe mercury switch. This switch is no longer used for safety reasons ,the replacement cost was around $675 + hst. Jeremy came over performed some tests and told me my wall thermostat wasnt compatible with my fireplace( purchased thermostat at a reputable dealer). So instead of an expensive mercury switch replacement all I needed was a $40 compatible thermostat. Highly recommend Jeremy, its hard to find an honest tradesman who won't sell you parts or service you don't need, Jeremy is an honest and very knowledgeable tradesman, and I won't hesitate to call him if my fireplace acts up in the future.

When our regular technician told us our almost-20-year-old gas fireplace couldn’t be saved, I called The Fireplace Doctor for a second opinion. Jeremy Graat was able to fix our old gas fireplace, capably identifying and explaining the issue and resolving it in one easy visit. Based on that experience, we decided to hire Jeremy to install a second gas unit in another part of our house. He performed all aspects of this job (removal of the old wood-burning unit, extension of our gas line to reach the location of the new unit, installation of the new unit) with an impressive degree of expertise and efficiency. Additionally, he always gave advance notice of his arrival times and showed up on schedule, he left our home neat and tidy after each visit, and his friendly, polite and professional demeanour made him a pleasure to deal with. We highly recommend Jeremy and his work!

When my original fireplace developed a problem I discovered that the company who had installed it had gone out of business. Blindly I searched the Yellow Pages & found Jeremy Graat. From our first meeting I knew I had found the right man for the job. His knowledge & his dedication to customer service soon became apparent. We've had Jeremy do the regular maintenance on our 2 gas fireplaces for the past few years. Two years ago, he converted a 3rd, wood burning fireplace to a gas fireplace for us. We have been very pleased with it. Jeremy has also helped us with an outdoor gas lamp that has had some issues staying lit. We have always had terrific service from Jeremy. He is extremely conscientious and reliable. He always explains the reason for any repairs that need to be done. Jeremy has really impressed us with his follow up contacts to make sure problems (with our gas lamp) were resolved. His fees are very reasonable. We would highly recommend Jeremy to others.

Jeremy met me the same day I contacted him about changing my outdoor barbecue gas line. He arrived the next day at the time he said he would and completed the job. He was excellent and I'll certainly call him again for any natural gas related issues I may have in the future. We had some problems with our main heating system and by the end of the day we had to shut it down and wait for the installation of a new one. Meanwhile since it was a very cold night we had to keep warm and for our house the only viable solution was to start the gas fireplaces. We didn't use them for about 2 years and of course we couldn't start them. At this point, very late in the evening we called a few companies but they were wiling to set up an appointment in the next few days. Luckily we found TheFireplaceDoctor and we spoke with Jeremy who was very professional and polite. He came to our home really quick despite the late hour and he fixed our two fireplaces. He worked very clean and professional, fixing the ignition problems, changing the gaskets, cleaning the glass panels and even replacing a sparkler electrode for free. What we liked the most beside the professionalism, Jeremy had all the parts in his van and was really well prepared. The price for the whole project was reasonable and lower than other companies and contractors whom we spoke with.
