We noticed stress cracks in the masonry around our basement windows and noticed there were no visible lintels installed on our 7 year old home. We tried to contact various companies for help and very few were responsive or willing to take on the work. I found Phong and Vans reviews on Homestars, and the reviews are all true. I contacted Phong, and he was responsive and so helpful, and so respectful. He gave us a reasonable quote, and was more than willing to come help us out. He removed bricks and found out that we did have lintels but they were too short and incorrectly placed. He put in the appropriate size, and although he wasnt able to find our exact brick to match, he found the closest thing, and even did a bit of a mortar wash on the new bricks so they could be as close as possible to our existing ones. My husband and I are very happy with the work done and knowing that our house is structurally sound. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Phong and Van to anyone. Please call him with your masonry needs, I promise you wont be disappointed.

Phong and Van did excellent work on our house. They replaced about 40 damaged bricks, filled in gaps and cracks in the walls, parged along the side of the house, fixed a window sill, and fixed some damage to our front porch brick pillar. They also fixed some issues caused by a previous job(s) that was done by someone else. Our house looks so much better after their work. And Phong was always very quick to respond to my texts which I really appreciated. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

My 1958-built bungalow was in need of serious tuckpointing in the front-facing brickwork. There were also some major cracks in our cement stairs requiring repair and a small parging job needed around our porch. Phong and Teo from Brick Aid Masonry came highly recommended, and they did Not disappoint. They were flexible with a convenient time to come do the work (once the winter weather had passed); and were fantastic professionals. The price was reasonable and they took the time needed to ensure all the work was done to the level necessary. The bonus? Aside from being expert craftsmen, Phong and Teo are great people. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Brick Aid Masonry for all your brickwork / masonry needs.

We bought a house that had multiple long, deep cracks in its brick exterior reaching up to the second level that had been improperly repaired with silicone caulk. I reached out to Brick Aid Masonry and they provided a quote the next day. Phong and Van were super professional, friendly and quick with the job. They matched the colour of the concrete mortar to match the existing building and it looks great now. We will definitely hire them again for future exterior projects.

I contacted Brick Aid Masonry in the summer of 2021 for a quote to repair the foundation parging on one entire side of my detached home. It was a project I knew about when I had purchased the home 5yrs prior, but I had never gotten around to it. The pile of crumbling concrete accumulating at the side of my home was screaming that it was time to address this issue. Brick Aid Masonry provided a reasonable quote from photos that I sent. Within a short time thereafter, we found a time that worked for both of us to start the project. From my photos it was not possible to see that the damage went down nearly the entire length of the house. They discovered this issue on the first in-person visit to my property and provided me with a very clear demonstration of the extent of the damage and the nature of the additional work they would need to do to fix it properly. This necessitated a modest increase in the final cost of the work, but nothing unreasonable. The team completed the work quickly, cleaned up the premises daily, and was very good in communicating next steps. They were quick to remedy any concerns that I articulated. Ultimately I was very happy with the final result and would hire them again.

We had a great experience working with Brick Aid Masonry, from our initial contact for an estimate, to the visit to assess the work needed, to the work itself. Our original request was to fix the crumbling mortar on our front porch steps, as well as seal the flagstone of the porch and steps. Phong’s description of their approach to fixing the mortar “sealed” the deal. Once we decided to go with Brick Aid for the job, we asked Phong whether his team would be able to partially close up a window as well, in advance of a waterproofing job that was due to start later in November. That task was added to our job, and Phong and Van made both the porch and the reduced window look great. Thank you so much!

In need of replacement/repair of the parging on one side of our 100+ year old house, with repair to cracks on the other side, as well as repair to the pointing between bricks - we got quotes from a number of masonry firms, including from BAM. When Phong came over, he talked us through what he thought needed doing and gave us a quote. It was very competitive - not the cheapest, but far from the most expensive. Phong was also willing to do the job at relatively short notice. The core work took Phong and his partner a day to do, with finishing off and clean up etc. taking an additional 1/2 day. This is what Phong had quoted and the work was - to my limited knowledge - done well. From the start Phong said he wanted to do a job that we were satisfied with and he was as good as his word - he replaced a number of cracked bricks for us that went above the work in the original quote, but he was good enough to keep the price the same. I would say that masonry work is not cheap, but for us it was necessary. I would go back to BAM and Phong if I have similar work that is needed.

Phong and van were the masons who fixed the cracks in our brick on the exterior of our home. They were super nice, efficient and did a great job! They even went above and beyond by fixing some other cracks that weren’t in the scope of the project which was much appreciated. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for masonry work as they were great to work with and did a fantastic job!

Phong did a great job. Work was delayed several times due to weather etc. But in the end all was completely well.

Phong and his crew were polite and professional. They came to redo the mortar on the front of our 100 year old house, and also mortar repair on the rest of the walls. Communication was very good throughout the the job and we definitely would recommend them to anyone!
