All the on site Techs are great friendly, knowledgeable and it builds trust in a part of the home most people don’t fully understand, yet its critical to our homes. I contacted City Home Comfort to cancel a furnace installation, the day after initially arranging the appointment and 2 days before the proposed installation date, which was well within the cancellation period under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002. There was never any indication, verbally or in any of the written documentation, that a $1000 deposit that the company had charged my credit card was non-refundable. The company provided written acknowledgement that the appointment was cancelled, also 2 days before the originally scheduled appointment, and at no time subsequently came to install a furnace or visit our home. However, I did not realize that they had not refunded my deposit until months later when reviewing my credit card statements. Upon discovering this, I called the company numerous times, speaking to various staff who indicated they would pass my messages regarding my request for refund to someone with authority to deal with it. I also followed up in writing on several occasions with the company, providing relevant documentation including a copy of my credit card statement with the $1000 charge from City Home Comfort in Scarborough on it, and requesting a refund. Eventually I sent them a registered letter providing the documentation and demanding repayment. Despite all my efforts, I never received a reply from City Home Comfort and my $1000 was never refunded. Yesterday I posted a google review, which ironically the company immediately responded to, claiming that they had no record of me and, they were ‘sorry a company charged you, but it wasn’t ours’, that I seemed to be a competitor, suggesting my review was a fake that that ‘to claim the Consumer protection clause is a clear indication this is fake’. I am a consumer, not a competitor, and their apparent lack of records that their company charged me simply proves that their record-keeping is inadequate. I fail to see how my referencing the Consumer Protection Act somehow leads to the conclusion that my review is ‘fake’. My complaint stands. Avoid this company at all costs!Answer from pro:
Hi Becky, Thanks for addressing this situation about your card being charged. You can always call us for a faster response. We have no email correspondence found, but after investigation, I did find a charge for a cancelled invoice from 2019 for a customer named Rebecca with a different last name, that had approved an invoice and then cancelled the furnace installation after our company had purchased the products and ordered the custom sheet metal. Since we cannot refund charges that are over 2 years old. We can provide a solution that can work for you by providing free service for your equipment or a discount on a new product.

City Home Comfort has maintained my old furnace,ac and water heater for years. When my a.c. Broke down on Aug. 24, the hottest day of the summer, they were obviously swamped with calls but their dispatcher, Anna, convinced a tech to add me on to his day and he came to do the repair at 7:30 P.M. When I decided to replace my furnace ac and water heater I chose City Home Comfort because of the long-standing excellent service they have provided. The installation crew did an excellent job, the piping and lines neatly placed and all refuse cleaned up and removed. I highly recommend City Home Comfort. G.Finley TorontoAnswer from pro:

Experiencing occasional failure of hot water (once every 2-3 weeks) but not sustained for complete failure. Turning off the faucet and turning on again usually clears the problem. The technician cleaned the flame sensor and checked other components. Later an estimate was provided should we wish to replace the flame sensor.Answer from pro:

I highly recommend the services of City Home Comfort (CHC). I was in a situation where the old heater (2011) was malfunctioning, and the Lessor told me that the unit was end of life and replacement parts could not be sourced. A replacement lease was quoted at 3x the monthly charge I have been paying. Chris D of CHC was familiar with the Combi Boiler unit requirements and his team identified that the last vendor installed a tankless water heater in 2011 instead of the Boiler system the Builder had originally installed in 2008. After providing a reasonable quote, Chris D came to the house and verified the Combi unit would operate as expected with the high velocity blower and that it would serve the needs of the 2200 sqft townhouse. The unit they quoted and installed is 18K BTU whereas other companies quoting were proposing units as small as 12K BTU. I would recommend this supplier based on responsiveness, cost competitiveness and technical knowledge without hesitation.Answer from pro:

I had City Home Comfort install a Trane furnace last year and they just returned for its first annual maintenance. The technician was friendly and knowledgeable and he gave it a good going-over before declaring it fit and ready for the upcoming heating season. Every time I have had contact with the company, I have been impressed with their attitude and commitment to excellent customer service - from their bid-beating pricing to the professional and timely follow-up communication ensuring that I am satisfied with my purchase.
