    HVAC installed new system in home

    Chris came to give us a quote. We reviewed it along with 3 other quotes and decided to go with Chris. On the first few days of work I arrived to see that he was connecting the new ductwork to the old ductwork when I discussed it with him he said that's what I agreed to in the contract. I thought this strange so I reviewed the contract to find out that his initial quote/contract was different than the contract I signed. He had changed the contract when he came back for the signing. Very sly!! He then told me that in order to have all new ductwork replaced with new I would have to pay extra! We argued and after some discussion he decided to install the new ductwork. His work was not well done. There were 2 workers Chris (different from the owner) & Jun. Their work was shoddy with screws that would not allow us to place the drywall against so we had to remove them all and put in flat head screws. That was very time consuming. They did not tape the seams in the ductwork which like removing all the round headed screws was very time consuming. They eventually sent a Jun who taped the remaining vents. Then the vents were placed incorrectly one behind a door which I had to call in someone else for fix that mess. Then there were the wall vents which were placed too low to put on the baseboards. That took 2 or 3 trips to repair all of that. Very disappointing. The job itself tooks months to finish as opposed to weeks. When the guys were here redoing things the owner would tell them hurry up and finish we have another job to do!! I just finished another house needless to say I did not call City Home Comfort for their services & nor will I in the future. I would not recommend this company.

    Furnace

    Simply great service! It's so good when you find a company that consistently deliver in all aspects. Needed a new furnace and after talking to a couple of local companies by phone, I was researching models and filled in my info for a local quote. Within a minute I got a phone call from CHC who offered to send someone around to assess. It was 7pm and when I asked if it was possible that evening, I got a call back saying that someone could be there by 9pm. Shawn attended from CHC. Very friendly and professional. Looked at hydro and gas bills and assessed potential savings/opportunities. Explained available rebate process and connected me for the initial audit. While I got two separate callbacks from other companies and their reps attended, Shawn stood out in terms of expertise. After some follow up questions with Shawn, decided on a Amana modulating furnace and this was installed two days later by Chris and a fellow worker. Existing ecoBee thermostat was utilised. Install, clean up and explanation was great. Definitely recommend CHC for a new furance or any existing maintenance or repairs.

    I would highly recommend City home comfort

    I would highly recommend City home comfort . We recently moved into a house in Markham. Paul fixed many items for us. He was professional, polite and extremely helpful. We felt pricing was fair as well. It was an all around great experience. Thanks!!

    Very happy with their service.

    We came back from vacation and our furnace was down and it was cold and damp in our home. City home comfort responded at in the am the following morning and had us in warm temperature in 5 hours. Very happy with their service.

    Highly recommend.

    Jeff a member of the City home comfort team has been professional, capable, and most helpful. He arrived promptly, answer all questions, and resolved the issue effectively at the time of service. Options are offered with professional advice but without pressure to choose a particular one. Highly recommend.

    Could be better

    The price for furnace repair isn’t very friendly as they charge min inspection+1hr labour regardless of the issue, I was provided a temporary fix without knowing how long it would last. The furnace isn’t really behaving the same way the technician described but at least it works for now.

    Grateful for the staff at City home comfort

    Grateful for the staff at City home comfort . Quality company. Professional yet personable which is appreciated. Our system wasn't the best canvas to work with but they have really exceed expectations with service and fixing the system we have, bringing things up to code and making things work safely.

    furnace repair and cleaning

    We have used City Home Comfort many times in the past for our furnace cleaning and repairs without an issue, in fact, they have always been pleasant and helpful to deal with. However, this time we were not happy with the billing. Our furnace wasn't working properly and a technician came out for a service call to repair it for $170 plus hst. He determined it wasn't working properly due to the flame sensor not being cleaning properly in the past. I did not say anything to the technician at the time, but after having thought about it I felt this was neglect on their part, as City Home Gas is the only company who has cleaned our furnace throughout the years and they hadn't done it properly. We feel at the very least we should have been billed the lesser cleaning fee, approx. $100, instead. I contacted the company about this and was disappointed that I received no response. The technician himself was very pleasant and efficient, and like I said we have had a good experience in the past with them, it is the recent billing and lack of response to make it right that we are disappointed in.

I would just like to add that we did previously call you for your preventive maintenance reminder 10/22/2019 since your last one was done 11/16/2018, We always like to be proactive, This way we can avoid emergency service calls and extra cost that incur with it. There is many factors why A flame sensor fails The amount of usage. How many times the furnace cycles. Whether you’re taking combustion air from inside or outside. How many hours a furnace operates. And the condition of the furnace. It is recommended that a furnace be cleaned and tuned every year including the flame Sensor. We have seen dirty flame sensors that last one year and we have seen dirty flame sensors that last 3 years unfortunately in your case it was only a year.Looking at our technicians report, We see that he has recommended a few parts that work together with the flame sensor and and these are contributing factors to your furnace break down. Once again I apologize we did not connect, I would like to talk to you about it and make sure we can come up with good solution for you.     Darryl and Darin from City home comfort installed my new Furnace

    Darryl and Darin from City home comfort installed my new Furnace and air conditioning unit today. They were on time, polite professional and answered all my questions..Also cleaned up after themselves which was a real plus. Couldn’t be more pleased. I highly recommend City home comfort. I use them for all of my furnace and air-conditioning needs
