Amazing work to say the least! Jay took his time and did the job right and to perfection. He worked within our budget and gave us options to save. We are more than pleased with his work and will be using him again for our basement stairs. Would not hesitate to recommended him to friends and family.

Jay was great to work with. He gave us exactly what we wanted at the best price. He was fast and did a great job cleaning up after the job.

I met up with Jay from Sapphire stairs and railings, he came to do my moms staircase, upon meeting with Jay I felt he was confident and professional. Jay is neat and tidy in his work habits and never left a mess behind, and the job was done right the first time. From my first meeting with Jay for an estimate, I could tell he was a genuinely good guy. Extremely knowledgeable, you could tell he knew his trade(s) well. Their quote beat 2 others we received, and based on the end results, I would have to assume the quality and value that was delivered by Jay, his brother Kyle, and his team's work also beat anything any of those other contractors could have done. The work on our home may seem standard: new stairs and new flooring. However the previous owners of the home neglected to up-keep the home, to say the lease, leaving both our floors and main stairs extremely noisy, even when my children walked on them. The stairs in particular were actually (previously) done with such extreme poor workmanship, to the point there was no individual support for each step. We knew they were not safe, but Jay confirmed our suspicions and had a plan. Once removing the existing stairs, Jay, Kyle and their team secured sufficient support and reinforcement to each step, before installing the new step materials. Similarly, before installing the new flooring, he secured new screws directly into the sub-floor to reduce the noise when walked on. Jay, Kyle and team would always ask our preferences and ideas first, when it came to design choices (stains, colours etc.). We would then ask for his input, and his recommendations would always incorporate what we asked. He was excellent in keeping his suggestions focused on the overall, big-picture perspective - so my advice is to listen to his, even if it contradicts your own. My staircase and new flooring could now be featured in a show-home magazine - our expectations were definitely surpassed, value was delivered, and all this within the original quote. Not to mentioned the 'dead silence' we now experience when walking on the stairs and floors. Quality and workmanship 'to the T.' Thanks again to Jay, Kyle and the rest of the Sapphire team - I look forward to working with you again in the future, as soon as possible.

The work that jay and Kyle did was beyond amazing! From the first time we met jay my husband and myself had a gut feeling that he was genuine and fair and we were absolutely right about him Our staircase was horrible from previous owners trying out their DIY! They were possibly the noisiest stairs ever, but now when I walk down them it is crazy how we don’t hear a sound Jay was very helpful from the beginning with setting us up with a place to purchase our floors for the upper level. And even saved us money by being honest and telling us the underpad that was there before was still good! On top of that went above and beyond to call managers when they wouldn’t take back our in opened underpad and got us a full refund for that We are extremely happy with the entire job! Thanks so much to jay, Kyle and their crew!!

Kyle did an amazing job with his crew! He went above and beyond with taking into consideration small details with superb craftsmanship. He kept us up to date with the process and helped us understand what he was doing and why, (this was great for me as I have O.C.D ) for example he was trimming back the stairs and adding cushion room to quiet or get rid of the squeak in the very old stairs. He was able to complete the stairs in a few days and worked neat. There was no issues living in the space and using the stairs when they were working except leaving time for the stain to dry. The finished product was gorgeous! Everyone who visits is in love with our stairs. He was able to create a great focal point in our house based on examples I sent of my inspirational stairs photos I saw online. He communicated well through text and phone and was able to provide examples of his previous work to ensure that he would be able to meet my expectations. He was very professional and had amazing customer service. My boyfriend accidentally removed some of the stain when completing our renovations and Kyle was so nice and came back and retain the patches with no charge! He was able to finish the landing with spare wood from my flooring and complete the moulding around the edge of the stairs and landing for a little extra cost. The stain matches well with the wood from our upstairs flooring and continues well with the laminate on our main floor. I would recommend Sapphire Surfaces to any of my friends and family! My parents are thinking of using this company when they have to redo their stairs soon. Kyle was professional, had great customer service, and very knowledgable. They go above and beyond with their work!

Jay did an excellent job correcting height of one stair, refinishing & matching stain perfectly. Also, fantastic modification of basement staircase & installation of railing. Very professional, great workmanship & attention to detail, and cleaned up every step of the way. Highly recommend!!
