sold our old place - new owner wont pay the rental agreement

We just sold our condo and the new owner is saying that she does not want to pay the rental fees of $25/mo and refuses to sign off on the paperwork to set up the Pre-authorized payments from her bank account. As a result, Reliance is still withdrawing $ from our account every month even though we no longer own that property. They say they are legally allowed to do that??? Anytime I call I just get their voice mail with no option of waiting for the next available rep and then I get told someone will contact me back within 48 hrs. It is impossible to contact a live agent in the billing dept when I wish to. I have called 5 times over the past 3 days and I have gotten "disconnected" 3 of those times. Their customer service reliability is garbage. Apparently they said our only option to get the $ back is to take the new owner to small claims court. I much prefer Direct Energy - they are a lot easier to get in contact with. Based on this - I will not refer any of my friends to Reliance.

    Water Heater Install

Woke up to a "hissing" noise, went downstairs to investigate, found that water heater was spewing water out of the top vent, turned of the supply and called Reliance (we rent our tank from them) Repair man was out to our house within three hours of call, replaced the water heater, since we rent the heater from Reliance we had no charge for the repair.

    Bran New AC under warranty

We purchased new furnace &AC for our home& my cousin purchased an AC for his. Our agreement included a $100 referral check for each house. Equipment was installed Oct 09, and was well done, my cousin received his check but we never did. It took us till Feb 2010 to finally get a hold of someone, to deal with this, and we settled for the $100 credit, on the water heater bill. A month ago, we contacted the Oshawa center to request to raise the AC, for landscaping purposes and we were told the fee would be $100. 2 wks after, tech called my husband and told him that we will be charged a service call as well, but we were not made aware of this, so we cancelled. Then last Saturday, we turned the AC on, the temp in the house is still 32 deg. since! We called & booked a tech to come out for Tuesday Jul 06, from 1-5. Same day @ 3.45 I called & was told that someone is still coming. At 4.10 they called to re-book for Thursday Jul 08. Devastated, I asked to talk to the manager/London Branch Supervisor, the rep would not help, no name or a # for anyone, not even her own supervisor, but she offered to transfer me to a box where I can leave a message- "4 children in the house, temp is 32 degrees, the youngest one 3.5yrs old developed rash on her back from the heat yesterday. AC is bran new, never used, cost $7200 with furnace; running since Saturday, with very little cold air coming out. Did we get for the service that we paid for? My husband called 3x to get a hold of someone in customer relations. The reps. hung up on him "accidentally". On the 4th time, he spoke to someone, who tried his best to help us, offered us two free months credit, but could not do any better. He called again and told us to fix it, and they would reimburse us. I am still trying to get someone to come out sooner, no luck so far. Who is accountable for all this? Where do customers go to address their issues? What is the purpose of the call center if they cannot help you or offer you alternative solutions? Poor communication management system, staff training and customer service, and the customer pays for it-very disapointing!

    home securities system

I was happy with the price, seeing as how competitors charged me 35$ versus the 20$ cost. It was a quick and hastle free installation. They arrived on time and cleaned up afterwards, leaving no mess behind for me to deal with. I would recommend Reliance to fellow home owners.

    Furnace and water heater

They represtative came in and even though she had a sick family member she stil came on time and installed the furnace and high eff water heater. They came back to reprogram the thermostat for me - the manager in Kitchener was excellent was well to deal with for any of my questions. Have had trouble free since. They also re-capped the chimney after the other co screwed up and did this for free. They aslo installed another plug for free as well and really helped to make the experience trouble free.

    hot water tank repair

We had difficulties with hot water tank that is rented. Notified Reliance and a technician was sent within 2-3 days, free of charge, for repair. The technician was very thorough, spent time explaining that the issue was and did not rush the job.

    Hot water tank replacement

My rental tank died so i called to have it fixed. Service guy told me i needed to upgrade to a 40 gal tank but first i had to pay $400 for a chimney vent sleeve. Its in my crawl space under the house so i asked him to measure to make sure the new larger tank will fit. The technician also tried to sell me on getting my ducts cleaned from some third party and the phone hasn't stopped ringing. Next service tech showed up to replace the tank after I have the sleeve installed and tells me it won't fit! Not even close, its off buy seven inches of height. Now this guy tries selling me the tankless water heater, a new furnace and air conditioner. The tech tells me his boss will come over the next day at 4pm with options and prices. No one shows up! I call reliance and they tell me someone will be there that night or the next morning. Instead I get a call at 7AM Saturday morning telling me they are not coming till the next morning. I call back and tell them if they don't get somebody out here today i'm going to a competitor and they tell me to bad. RELIANCE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS MY FAMILY JUST WANTS A HOT SHOWER

    Fixing a Furance

The guy who came out was very helpfull and fixed the problem quickly. The only thing was it took a day and a half to come out in the middle of winter, so it was a bit cold in the house and was not good when you have children

    new furnace

We had relience come to service our furnace and they had to tag it. They sent over a sales rep to show us furnaces and he was very helpful and explained all the benifits with having an audit done. We went with them because they were very quick and efficent. We were very pleased with the service.
