    Water heater rental

Used to rent a water heater from them but we got tired of their constant hard-sell approach and rude calls trying to sell us more services. After a particular offensive call we phoned to cancel our account; well it truns out they charge closure fees and pickup, even though we never signed a contract -- heater was with the house when we bought it. Their response "you agree to our terms when you first paid" (they never sent any contract, we never saw any terms). My response "you owe me $120 inconvenience fee, you agree to my terms when you first received paiment from me".

replaced rented hot water heater that started to leak

Rented hot water heater was found leaking and as soon as the call was put in arrangements were made for new installation .They also keep you up to date on any scams happening in the area in regards to misleading contracts.Just wondering if they have a routine service that comes and checks on the rental equipment before you get to the point of a flooded basement?

    hot water heater repair

had a recent major renovation on my home .. when all was complete I noticed that I had a very loud noise resonating up through the duct work .. discovered the noise was via the hot water heater .. called Reliance on a Sunday expecting to be put through to an answering machine - however my call was answered within one minute and a live agent took the call .. after a short description she offered service the NEXT DAY .. and gave three or four time slots .. two of which worked - actually worked!!! the service tech then showed up ON TIME .. the tech fixed the issue within 15 minutes, stayed to make sure it was fixed and left .. what service !! I have never been happier with a company in terms of quick response and quick resolution !!!

    Furnace maintenance

Moved into a new home last year, got the Reliance Home Protection Plan. Worked out great as a new home owner you can have them come over just to check things out to make sure everything is setup correctly - Booked/Arrived same day

    Furnace repair

Reliance has good attention to detail and they did a good job. They came to do a maintenance for us and they found an issue with one of the parts. They had to come back for the part.

    Water Heater

they sent someone in to replace a motor for my heater which was supposed to solve the problem. I spent over $500 to have the motor replaced and it did not solve our problem. Then we had to replace the water heater which we have rented from the same company. It is unfortunate that we are required to pay three months in advance. over all I am not pleased with their service

    No hot water!

I moved into a rental home and was told the water heater was a rental. I was a little skeptical of this, unsure if I liked the idea of a rental water heater seeing as I have never personally had a problem with one. However after living in my home for about 3 months we were losing our hot water rapidly. I called Reliance who carried the rental and the next day someone was there to repair the water heater and he noticed something else. Being in Cambridge, we have hard water and he heard the noise in the tank and told me it needed further service and would initiate this for me. Sure enough, the following day I get a call to set up a time for the follow-up appointment and they were really good about working with my schedule. The next service tech came out and he cleaned out the tank and since then I could not be more pleased with the performance of the tank. Both techs were very courteous and cleaned up after themselves. It is unfortunate to see only negative reviews from people displeased with their experiences; I felt it important to share my satisfaction with this company. Thank you Relaince!

    Combo water heater and furnace

Over a week without heat in total after they supposedly repaired the unit. I have a brand new home and my heat goes off repeatedly. When they get around to coming out it is a different guy every time. Most of the time they don't have the parts and I have to wait more days. They subcontract to Ocean Mechanical who then subcontract to Dynasty who never answer any phone calls. When you call Ocean Mechanical the customer service department answers in the Philipines. Service is extremely poor and everyone washes their hands of responsibility. So I'm on my second go around without heat in less than two weeks and there is no resolution in sight. POOR! POOR! POOR!

    Furnace

We have one of thier "Total Comfort" agreements. On Tue (Dec/29/09) we called because our furnace was acting up and a tech came out and after spending some time on our furnace told us it needed a new board (something that controls the furnace) and he told us because of this the furnace could not be used and a part would be ordered and delivered to our house and when this part arrives to call and a tech will come out and fix the problem. After me, my wife and two young children spent a very cold night we waited for the part to arrive. Finally around 1:00 pm on Wed (Dec/30/09) the part finally arrived. We called Reliance and were told that the tech would be out the next day, after which I told them no way and we have already been without a furnace and need this thing to be fixed. After some more discussion it was agreed a tech would be sent that day. Well later that day a tech showed up and after he spent time he informed us they sent the wrong part. So to make a long story short... they have since sent out more wrong parts, we have made numerous calls to their so-called customer service and we are still waiting for our furnace to work and it is now 4:30 pm Friday, Jan 01, 2010. Hmmm, would I recommend them to any one? There is something about being on the FOURTH DAY and counting that makes someone a little hesitant about recommending these people.
