Had a problem with a slow drain, but we're on the protection plan so I called Reliance. They sent Mitch, he tried to snake out the drain but it went right through, it was so old and corroded! The metal was paper-thin. So, the plan was to come back the next day with a new drain to install. But the shut-off valve behind the sink was dripping, slowly enough that no one noticed until hours later when there was a big puddle on the floor and the baseboard trim was ruined. But our main indoor water shut-off was also old and seized, it could not be turned off, so nobody wanted to mess around with the little shut-offs behind the sink in case a little leak turned into a big one. Next step was to call the city, have the main outdoor water shut off which costs $80. Reliance sent an adviser, Todd, and he made sure to waive any charges to replace the main indoor shut off, which we had previously been told would cost $430 plus tax! This was a big relief. They also gave us a credit which was more than enough to replace our water-soaked baseboard trim. Mitch replaced the indoor shut-off with a better one, a ball valve, which is more reliable and easier to use. He did it quickly enough that the city works guys were able to wait and then turn our water back on from outside, saving us from potentially paying another charge for them to return. Todd was very helpful and saved us a lot of money, and Mitch is a good plumber and a very nice guy! Happy to have him back again if more work ever needs doing. Thanks!
