I moved into my house in June of 2013. When I moved in nothing was mentioned to me about the tank being a rental. The tank was a bit rusty which I thought was no big deal as it worked just fine. A few months went by and the tank started to leak water. Not long after that it stopped working altogether. Keep in mind, at this point I had not received a single bill from Reliance. When the tank stopped working I had no water for a few days so I decided to have it replaced as there was absolutely no Reliance label or any contact info which again, why would I think it's a rental when there's no info on the tank. A few months after replacing the tank I start to get bills addressed to me for rental fees along with a letter from collections stating that I owe almost $500 in rental fees. I decided to contact Reliance to explain my situation and I was told that I am liable for the rental fees and that in order to have my name taken off the contract I would have to pay the $500 plus all the rental fees as they're still billing me every month kowing that I no longer have the tank and to top it off, they want an additional $800 for the old tank that was taken out of my house almost a year ago. Either that or give them back the old tank which obviously is non existent at this point in time.
I would not recommend anyone to do any type of business with Reliance as they don't care about anything but money.
