Bought from Chantelle at Sterling Homes, she was very knowledgeable, professional and advocated for us with her head/back office. We have had some repairs done to our house and have dealt with Ben. Ben’s response time is excellent and he is really great to work with, Sterling is lucky to have such a caring, hardworking employee. Having said that, Sterling Home Builders head/back office can definitely improve when it comes to customer satisfaction and doing what is right for their customers!

Specific example: We paid for our garage and our garage cement pad/driveway to be increased by 2’ thinking it would go to the edge of our garage. Our friends also built with Sterling at the same time and did not pay extra but got the same width (same amount of cement) for free. Later we found out that that the “concrete crews also fell victim to and were just simply going with what they are used to in the area.” (Quote from Randy). We asked Sterling if they would do what we figure “is the right thing to do” and maybe give us a little compensation as we paid for what maybe other got for free. Sterling reply was “We cannot compensate you…. The cost error is solely on the concrete crew that did the work”

Every time I look at my drive way, I feel a bit uneasy. My next-door neighbor and my friend also constantly remind us that we paid for something that they got for free. Sterling had the chance to make this a win, win… but instead decided to just follow the contract. So for now I respectfully just live with it…they were allowed to change the contract conditions because of change of suppliers and also our Island was not placed in the proper spot (it was off by about 2 inches) and we let them off the hook… too bad it did not work both ways in this particular case.

Ernesto fixed all of the problems quickly with high quality. He tried his best to fix every problem and follow up if someone else came for the maintenance which made me feel he is very responsible and organized. You can reach him by text, phone, or email; and he reply you immediately. He is knowledgeable in house maintenance, which is very helpful if you have any questions about your house.

We bought a showhome from Sterling homes and after a few months contacted them for a few repairs we noticed. The office sent off an email to their warranty team and gave me Ernesto's number to follow up if I needed to. A few days later Ernesto contacted me and dropped by the house to have a look at the claim. He's a really nice guy, we chatted for a bit then he got to work. The bedroom door was more difficult to than he anticipated because he didn't have all the tools for the task. He was very clear as to what he would be doing next (I appreciate clarity). Anyway, a few days later he sent over James to fix the problem. James was a real professional. He assessed the task, got his tools and in no time he had it done. I must say I am impressed by Sterling's Warranty program. Thanks guys!

Found a perfect home that I was looking for. They have a great team. A few Warranty issues are being taken care by Ernesto. He is a great guy and always available when needed. Keep it up! Cheers!

We got excellent maintenance service by Sterling customer satisfaction technician Mr Ernesto. He gives good advice and fixes things in a timely manner. He takes care of things professionally. Keep it up.

We bought a corner townhouse from them and was advised it will be done by April or May 2018. So we signed up with Sterling coz the price was right, the timing and location was perfect! We picked the location for the future school so we need to be moving in before September that year. Turns out the ground breaking was going to happen in April and the house completed by end of November 2018. We were late for school and the school wasn't too pleased. In fact, our relationship with the school and teachers went sour. So we opted to pull-out our kids from brick-and-mortar school and homeschool instead this year (2019). But when we moved in November the stairs leading up the porch was temporary and rickety, we walked on pallets. Our garage and yard wasn't finished so we had to park on the street. What is the point of moving to a house from a condo when you can't use the garage? Anyway, that wasn't the main issue. Due to the -40 temp our van's engine gave out and cost us $3500 to replace. Finally, by April 2019 they start breaking ground for our garage. But we watch the whole area taking shape which is really difficult since we are surrounded by houses that are completely finished except for the row of townhomes beside us all by Sterling. After 5 long months, the garage is finally done and sod installed. A neighbor came by and advised we need to water the sod so it doesn't die on us. We didn't get a call, an explanation or note what to do. We were told by friends that we are supposed to hear from them. Nothing and it's been a week. Also, no steps / stairs for the back of house so we can access the yard or garage. Good thing my husband thought of keeping some of the pallets / planks in case. We have been parking on the street from November 2018 till September 2019. Our front porch is getting crowded with all our 3 kids' bikes (all age 7 and under), scooters and what-nots. We had to live through Winter, Spring, Summer and now start of Autumn... feeling envy for little things like the neighbor's nice porch, garage and yard. I felt like crying certain days coz of frustration. I also keep receiving emails about grand openings for Sterling's other locations / projects when our houses here are in need some attention. Why not close some projects first? I know there are wonderful people working in this company. Our sales agent Ryan was exceptional, even warranty people were not too bad. I suppose it has something to do with PM's ability to manage timelines and get their act together. It's just a townhouse and it feels like the little people like us get overlooked or devalued coz our houses are not in the millions. Don't get me wrong, we love our house already -- we want this to be our forever home -- but our overall experience could be better. Some of our friends bought from Homes by Avi and some from Bedrock and they got exceptional service. If you have the money to spend, look elsewhere. By the way, we have moved our stuff that belongs to the garage and stopped waiting for Sterling as my husband figured our how to calibrate the clicker with the automatic door thingy. Can you blame us? Took me over a year to finally type up a review. I was hoping I don't have to resort to this but I can no longer just sit and wait.

Trevor (Warranty Technician) & Randy(Customer Satisfaction Manager) have been exceptional in helping us with any repairs and completion of our outstanding seasonal items. They are always prompt in setting up work orders for any of our requests. They show that they really care about how we feel as customers. They both ensured we got refunded for overcharges on our water bills due to leakage in the toilets in our home after making sure that the repairs were done as soon as we noticed and informed them. They also helped to contact the construction team about our outstanding seasonal items, ensuring we got all sorted before the start of cold season and to avoid any push to next season. We really can not thank you enough.

Ben from Sterling Homes warranty was phenomenal. Our home has had a water leak in the basement and when I called him, he didn’t answer but got back to me within an hour or two which was fantastic. He came to the house and figured out where the problem roughly was, he got on the phone with the plumbing company and had it all organized for them to come repair it. Our home is off warranty for the problem at hand but Ben had everything covered except the plumber which saved me a lot of cash. Ben was great from start to finish.
