David was very thorough, and detailed in his explanations. He is highly knowledgeable on nearly every part of the property, inside and out. It also helps that he is very personable and friendly with his communication when explaining the parts of your home.

I engaged the services of Fairbairn Home and Building Inspection to inspect the house I was planning on purchasing. The inspector arrived at site on the scheduled date and time and did a very comprehensive inspection of the building as well as the appliances per my request. I found him quite knowledgeable, hands on and very thorough with his inspection. He communicated the details of the inspection, any issues noted and recommendations to me right away which was later followed by an equally comprehensive report.

David was referred to me by 2 different family members as a top-notch inspector for a fair price. He's a very outgoing and articulate guy who takes time to educate and explain things to you in a very understandable manner during the inspection. As well, he takes key snapshots during the inspection which helps provide visual clarity in the final inspection report. This isn't something that's normally done by the other "old school" inspectors who's reports are all just text based. I will definitely be recommending him to other friends and colleagues who may be looking to do a home inspection.

David Fairbairn is very professional and friendly. He did a very thorough inspection of our unit, the storage room, the parkade and the pool area. He offered to check the roof as well, but we did not have access. David took pictures of anything he thought had an issue or could be improved. I felt like I learned a lot from David. He was very open to answering questions and explained what he was checking for as he went along. David even reviewed the Depreciation report before the inspection. Report is the next best thing to a depreciation report. Must get David if your next purchase condo doesn't have a depreciation report.

I hired David to come inspect a condo that I was considering purchasing. He was extremely detail oriented, and extremely knowledgeable. You can tell he knows what he's talking about, as he answered every question that I had regarding how to repair things, or who to hire. During the inspection, he even helped to fix up a few minor leaks in the kitchen and bathroom sink. At the end of the inspection, he gave me a guidebook for how to maintain and do minor fixes around the house. I can tell that David is very passionate about what he does, and I would recommend him 10000x to everyone I know.

My initial contact with David was him on the roof inspecting it (though it looked scary watching him walking over the roof and doing a thorough check). He has a warm, affable disposition, putting you at ease with the process on the whole. An enlightening experience to watch him go through the paces and being diligent with his work.
