dishwasher repair

Our 10 year old dishwasher stopped working so we called Appliance Repair Team. They said that the minimum charge to come was $80, which would be deducted from any repair charges. When the serviceman came, it turned out that $80 was the cost of turning up. After inspecting the dishwasher (for $280), he said that it needed a new display membrane, which, with labour, would cost another $420. When I asked if it would be worth it to pay almost as much as the cost of a new machine, he said that the other parts were fine and would last for a while. Since I was already in for $280, I agreed and he ordered the part, which he returned to install three weeks later. Yesterday, just over three months later, the dishwasher died. When I called the Appliance Repair Team, they said that their services were only guaranteed for thirty days, but they would reduce the minimum service charge to $50, which would seem to mean a minimum of $250 more than I had already paid. It was an expensive lesson, but the moral of the story is: If you have an appliance problem, do not call the Appliance Repair Team. It will be cheaper to get a new machine.

Ridiculous Repair cost of Washer and Dryer

I contacted ApplianceRepairTeam.ca for Dryer and washer repair.

Total cost $813.6 for both of them !! and I stupidly paid them as it was urgent.

and They charged the fuse $120 plus taxes of the dryer.

I don't recommend this company !! I wish I read the comments here before contact them.

Washing Machine Repair

After looking at the washing machine, the technician said I needed to replace the main board. I asked if it was in stock. He said yes. I told him I wanted confirmation all needed parts were in stock because I did not want to wait three weeks to get my washer fixed. He assured me the part I needed was in stock and he would receive it in 3-4 days and he would come the next day to repair the machine. The following week I was told the technician also ordered a hose and they were waiting for it to arrive. The following week I was told the hose was on back order and they did not know when it would arrive. When I asked why the technician ordered a hose without telling me I needed one they tried to make it sound like he did me a favour because they weren't charging for the hose. Three weeks later, they still don't have the hose. When I told them I wanted to cancel the repair they insisted I pay an administration and restocking fee because the main board had arrived even though I had made it clear to the technician that I did not want to order any parts unless they were in stock. Obviously, this company has no customer service and they mislead customers. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Dryer Repair - Need to Pay for Full Repair Even if They Can't Do It

They came by to quote on a dryer repair. I was expecting about $90 for them to come and look at it, and an additional cost for parts & labour if they were able to fix it. He examined it quickly and charged me right away for repair of the rotation system, pulley & bearing service, and motor service. He then went to get the part needed, but came back and let me know he didn't have it, but they'd order it and come back in a few days. They didn't call for about a week, so I called them and they indicated they hadn't found the part yet. I called another week later and they indicated they couldn't get the part so can't do the work, but I still had to pay for the labour as if they did. Apparently their policy is that you pay in full for labour whether they can do the work or not. So, I essentially paid $316 for them to assess the machine. Fortunately my wife was able to find the part online and we fixed the dryer ourselves. I would never trust this company ever!

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY

Sept. 23, 2020

Why is it that The Appliance Repair Team can repeat the same fraudulent behavior for years and still function legally? I am one of many who has paid them for services and parts that haven't been supplied.

Being of retirement age and disabled, myself with MS, and my husband equally disabled with a very recent hip replacement and in a panic over a broken washing machine, I failed to research the company as I usually would have. I fell for their web site promises of same day service. Needless to say, this was a grave mistake.

Our experience is as follows:

APPLIANCE REPAIR TEAM COMPLAINT

#1 On Aug. 19 I hired The Appliance Repair Team to fix my washing machine that wasn’t working.

#2. Kamal came from the co. diagnosed for $280 and said it needed a new transmission assembly for around $1500. He needs $889.52 that day in either cash or debit. The remaining balance of $573.12 would be charged when completed. With He’d be back on Tues. 25 to fix it.

#.3 Appointment cancelled, family emergency...back on Fri. 28

#4 Still upset, had to take the weekend off, back on Mon, 31

#5 Can't come back until Thurs. Sept.3

#6 It's now Sept. 3 and Mathew came; said he needed a grinder to remove ceased bolt. He'd come back on Wed. Sept. 9th.

#7 Wed. Can't make it...be back on Fri.Sept. 11

#8 Fri. Sept.11 Mathew came back with a grinder, couldn't do whatever she had planned. and took the whole outer tub, saying he had to have help to remove a bolt and needed a flange. He'd be back later that day. Didn't come back, so I phoned the company. They said he'd be back that night or phone, if not, he'd squeeze us in Sat. morning. There was no call and no visit.

#9 Mon. Sept. 15 Still no sign of Mathew or any news from the company. At this point the washing machine is in pieces throughout the basement with the drum removed from our premises. I can’t even get another company to address the problem because a major component has been removed. I phoned the company and was told that Mathew would get in touch with me to set up a time for installation.

#10 Thurs. Sept. 17 Have not heard from either Mathew or The Appliance Repair Team. Sent an email to ART complaining of lack of service (same as this one up to Sept.17). Fri. Sept18 will be 30 days since the contract with The Appliance Repair Team was signed. No work has been completed; The transmission assembly ($1014.38) though charged for has not been seen, much less installed.

#11 They phoned and said they would come on Sept.21 between 3-6pm.

#12 They did not show up on Sept.21. I phoned them and they said a manager wanted to talk to me. They would phone back on the morning of Sept. 22.

#13 Sept.22 I sent them an email laying out my complaint plans and giving them 48 hrs. to respond. I received an answering email saying;

Dear Tina,

We received your message.

If your message required a response, one of our team members will contact you shortly.

Best regards,

Customer Service

The A Team Appliance Repair

Sept.23

The Appliance Repair Team has not held up its responsibilities regarding this contract and we would therefore like to cancel it. We expect to be refunded the $889.52 and have the property (the outer washing machine tub) that was removed from out premises returned.

If this does not happen in the next 48 hours, I will be lodging complaints and writing negative reviews with:

1.The Better Business Bureau.

2. Homestars

3. Filing complaints with Consumer Protection Ontario. and Competition Bureau of Canada.

4. Investigating initiating a class action suit against your company and contacting police regarding theft of property.

Please stay away from the company

I wish I had read "yelp" reviews about this company before calling them. Just like everyone else, I was overcharged. They charge $88 for a visit. I ended up paying over $320 for the microwave fuse replacement.

dishwasher repair on kitchenaid appliance

The service guy showed up and had no idea what was wrong with it. My husband gave him our shop vac to suction the hoses. He was on the phone constantly trying to talk to another employee. They Only take cash payments, no credit card, which my husband was charged $317.00 and the dishwasher still doesn't go through the cycles completely and dry the dishes. Now they want another $477.60 to order a new part to see if that will fix the problem. I have no idea what the $317.00 was paid for when it still doesn't work properly. They completely ripped us off as my machine was never fixed and the repair guy didn't know what the problem was.

A warning.

This company spends a fortune on SEO and has mastered the promise of same-day repair. All to quickly entice suckas like us.

They operate under a number of different names. There are many customers with eerily similar complaints. In retrospect we have significant concerns about this.

They charge $80 to show up, then quote you $300 for quickly diagnosed mumbo-jumbo "repairs" that take five minutes. Then they explain to you that you need a $500 part. Which if you disagree to, still leaves you on the hook for hundred of dollars of "service".

The technician quickly pockets the money and leaves.

When you call them back to complain about the shell game they initially refuse to refund your money...eventually escalating to token amounts that are intended to stop you from complaining to authorities.

This experiences makes me lose faith in the world.
