I have been a customer of Dr. Green since 2009. At the time I used to work full time from home. I have always suspected that they never actually did any of the services that I paid for. I would be working on my laptop with an entire view of the backyard. Not once did I see a Dr. Green technician go into my backyard, but I would get the bill sheet hanging on my door. In hindsight, I should have complained back then, but I didn't. During my second year using them, I came home from work, after a couple of their services, and noticed an empty beer can beside my house. I couldn't prove it was from one of the techs, but I am positive it was.
I paid for their high priced over seeding. I looked all over the yard for any grass seed, but never saw any. I just thought that maybe I couldn't see the seed. I watered the lawn every day for the 2 or 3 weeks they recommended, but I never saw any new grass appear. They say it has a warranty on it, but I never bothered with it. I had a feeling it would not have made a difference complaining.
I was also getting VERY tired of the multiple sales people coming to my door asking me if I want to be a Dr. Green customer. Even though I was already one. Also the multiple phone calls asking me to pay extra for their other services.
I look after my lawn with cutting and watering, so I was shocked to see some dead spots on my lawn. So I finally cancelled the other day and that was a chore. It took my about 15 minutes on the phone to cancel their service. With me keep saying no thank you, I would like to cancel. The CS Rep would keep telling me I am missing out on their great service and he kept offering me cheaper services and extra deals. Finally I was able to cancel. I recorded all of the information of the call in case they come back in the future to say I didn't actually cancel. I also sent them an email to confirm my cancellation request. I will call them in a month to double check that my services have indeed been cancelled.
My recommendation is to NOT use Dr. Green for any of your lawn care needs. The only positive thing I can say about this company is the email sent the day before they are supposed to show up.
