Probably the worst garden maintenance we have ever had. They sent young students who had no idea what they were doing. Pulled out perennials they thought were weeds, cut the grass with a weed whacker (which left it damaged!), left a mess behind...When I complained I got no response.

We are very dissatisfied with the service of the Gardner. We have been a customer for the last three years, and the service is getting worse and worse. They don't clear the entire driveway which makes it hard for my elderly father to walk down the driveway to the garage to get his car. I will not be recommending them to anyone due to this poor service.

Such terrible service!! Do not have words to describe how unsatisfied I am with them ... will never recommend them to anyone!! Reading upon the bad forecasts about the 2013 winter, I had hired The Gardener to remove the snow from my single driveway. They showed up only a couple of times : twice at 2am at night and got the neighbours complaining, and another time during the day when they shoved all the snow from the driveway into the side-walk and again got the neighbours complaining!! And then they disappeared!! We have already had multiple heavy snowfalls/ snow qualls at Newmarket, ON so far and I ended up doing all the heavy lifting ... despite paying $400 (... which is higher than what other agencies charge!!)!! I really wish that I could cancel my services with them and go ahead with someone else!!

If I could give "The Gardener" Thornhill West less than 0, I would! From the beginning this location wasn't professional and I failed to see it! Last year I asked for a quote few times and they ignored it. When spring arrived, they provided me with decent quote and we hired them. Lawn maintenance didn't go well. They did show up every week, but instead of trimming, turning flower beds, removing weeds , they just cut grass. I called few times to the office, the receptionist promised to look into it and nothing changed. The last straw was organic program. "The Gardener" fully charged me in May, showed up 2 or 3 times instead of 8. I emailed the office, the owner himself promised to check what happened.It has been over 3 weeks and guess what? He didn't call back! The reason why I was so patient is because in our previous house, we used "The Gardener" Woodbridge services for almost 5 years and this crew was great! Our garden was taken care of. I don't think that all "The Gardener" locations are unprofessional. There are bad apples and it seems that there is inconsistency in how services are delivered. I was unable to find head office info. So in my case the only thing I could do would probably file a complaint through Ministry of Consumer Services.

Contracted lawn maintenance for season with Carlisle franchise. Didn't show up when promised. Dropped me as a customer because they said they couldn't meet my "expectations" which were established by them not me. DUH! Non responsive to calls; didn't show up when they said they would. Did damage to lawn with weed application and aeration.

After a month of good service on lawncutting and edging , my wife asked the crew (who were always good) about the shrubs/bushes. They said they didn't know and that they would "have to ask "Bill". We waited. Three more weeks went by with no results. My wife politely called "Gordie" (female) at the Pickering office. She was nice on the phone and said she would mention it to "Bill" who would have the crew do it that Friday. That Friday, the lawn was fine but again nothing for the shrubs/bushes. UPDATE: Bill called and explained he was not aware of the situation. He advised that his staff would do the shrubs/bushes --and they have done so.

We hired the gardener toronto to take care of the lawn at one of our rentals. They provide a fairly decent service, which although it did not start great has since been very much improved. I appreciate their great communication and willingness to fix their mistajkes. I would hire them again as long as the service level keeps up.

Decided to "outsource" and hire a service to mow my lawn in 2012 and found The Gardener. Cost is pretty reasonable and they are consistent and reliable. They seem to always come by during the day when I'm not around so they are never in the way. Hired them again for 2013!

A few years ago, I damaged my back in a work accident. I'm unable to do any heavy lifting incase I hurt myself. I was recommended this company by a friend. During this winter, there was lots of snow. This company was paid to remove mine. They did a beautiful job and were very careful. They did not hurt themselves or my car in the process. I remember when it was storming outside and I desperately needed snow removal. This company came to my aid and I'm thankful.
