    mouse/pest control

We chose Joe based on the reviews and his website. I liked that he had before and after shots of what he'd done to deal with pests. He seemed to have experience dealing with a variety of pests and that he was a problem solver (installing grating, etc). He did not disappoint. The service was thorough. Joe even used a camera to see into the small spaces and whether or not the mice had been travelling that way/nesting -- they had. Joe just didn't put down bait. He spent a long time evaluating the problem, and considering a solution. Impressive service! Would recommend him to everyone!

    Answer from pro:

Thanks Mark for the positive review. I sensed that the mice had gained access via the crawl space area but how they were getting there proved quite tricky. I had to take a sneak peak at your neighbors house were I could see a gap under their front door which was a clear connection to your problem via the semi-detached equation. Sometimes you have to explore beyond your own property to solve a pest issue. In the end the openings were sealed up tight with some flashing and no more mice. Glad it worked out so well,

    Pest control - mice

Joe did a fabulous job in detecting the holes where the mice were coming through, but also putting a mesh around the entire area of the wall (including the closets) where there was a space between the wall and the floor to prevent further visits. In addition he installed boxes with poison in areas that could have been future entry points. Joe worked for over 3 hours in my house to complete the job. The fee I paid was well below the market. I understand that most pest control contractors would not even install a mesh. I've never seen a mouse in my house since the first visit. Joe just came by to check the boxes and everything was in order. I highly recommend his services. .

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for the review. I had to cut out 4 inch strips of quarter inch mesh in order to close off the gap between the baseboards and the flooring in order to solve the problem. The idea here was to deny access because of the nature of the homes location within a row of houses. Every job is unique and involves a systematic approach regardless of how much time it may take. Thanks again,Joe

    Raccoon Removal

Joe did a stellar job in removing a family of raccoons nestled behind my second floor guest room wall. Most importantly, when compared to his competitors, Joe's prices were the best in town. Joe's the best!

    Answer from pro:

Thanks Patrick. This was a tricky job in that raccoons were coming in from a neighbour's property into my client home. The job required me to mesh off a 3 story gap on a roof which was falling apart and dangerous all around. Personally, I`ve never seen such a large raccoon exit through a 1-way door. Thanks again, Joe

    carpenter ant control

We have just moved into an older home and began noticing carpenter ants inside and outside the house. It became a big concern when I saw many ants at night on an exterior wall near the roof line. Joe promptly visited my home and quickly assessed that the nest was likely in a rotting tree on the property that I had not previously considered. He even took down part of the tree that was unsafe due to the carpenter ant damage and dusted selective areas. While at the home he also plugged a gap around a water tap that provided an entry point for mice and thoroughly assessed the exterior for other potential pests. I high recommend SNAP pest control.

    Answer from pro:

Seeing ants on an exterior wall is the beginning of a carpenter ant problem. Every time an ant ventures up and down a wall a pheromone is released. Invisible to us the trail can stay for years. The ants follow it up and then over winter in a nice attic space. Then one warm sunny winters day they awaken thinking it is spring and can be seen in various rooms of a home. Therefore it was wise to call about the ants when my client did because of the potential for an even larger problem down the road. The ants were eating the tree in order to create galleries for their nests and it was dangerously weak. I`m talking about a branch that was 2 feet wide by 30 feet long that came down with hardly an force exerted on it whatsoever. The inner section of it was gone and with a new family and little kids in the picture it had to go. The tree was a good distance from the home but as soon as I saw the clothes line attached to it I new it was the source of the problem. I left this job with a good feeling in that I averted the potential for serious accident. Thanks again for the review Joe

    Oriental Cockroaches

Joe arrived promptly, quickly appraised the situation, and provided excellent advice to deal our cocroach situation. It is clear that he has a good knowledge of these things. We could not be happier with his service and highly recommend him.

    Answer from pro:

Oriental roaches can be one of the hardest pests to control. These roaches are able to live outdoors in warm months and are seen in homes as they venture in to over winter. They differ from German roaches in that there are no obvious nests that can be isolated and wiped out. Oriental roaches tend to be seen more in the spring and fall when rains are heavy and sewers are flowing. To escape the extra water they venture upwards and invade buildings and homes. Restaurants in particular may experience problems with these bugs because the organic material and food debris that is washed down drains invites them into structures. Once in they meander around and mysteriously show up in random locations. Sightings can be sporadic and only add to this roaches ability to make it even more annoying and difficult to control. Thanks for the review,Joe

    bedbugs

Joe what a great job you did.Joe was a great help on the matter of bedbugs knows his stuff.Joe had the whole place cleaned and put back all in the same day. Can't say enough Joe is the the man. Thanks for everything Joe

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for the review. Bed bugs are known to hide and will spread around and become even more entrenched through random spraying. There is no standard method by which all exterminators conduct treatments. I've seen all kinds of treatment methods out there from fogging, spraying, dusting ,dogs, vacuuming, heat treatments , cold treatments, the list goes on and on. I like to assess each and ever job individually and conduct it based on a solid inspection followed by systematically looking for the bugs This approach may take a whole day but call backs are rare and lives are disrupted once only. Thanks again for the review,Joe

    Carpenter Ant problem

Joe, we can't thank you enough for your very profesional services. You are the best! We really appreciate all the time you took, both times you came to our house, to really look and find the cause of the problem with the carpenter ants we had. You spent so much time observing these ants and seeing where they come from in order to get to the bottom of the problem. We have two young daughters so Joe was extremly carring and took care of the ants without just spraying chemicals everywhere. It is so nice to have found Joe and know that he is one phone call away to solve all our wildlife or pest issues. We have used his servies twice and I am sure we will again. He is the best out there, extremely knowledgeable, very profesional, careful, carrying and gives you all the advice you need to know and even more, and never rushes you. The best without a doubt. Joe, thank you! Amazing services!

Thanks guys for the great review. This issue manifested itself initially in the winter months. Sluggish carpenter ants were being found in various rooms of the house. I've seen this countless times before and knew full well that the problem really started the previous summer. It is important to understand that ant jobs are about observation and timing. In nature ants tend to forage and navigate via established pheromone trails. Trails are invisible and can last for years on a structure. Therefore, logically speaking it becomes important to erase the trail starting from its source. The primary nest with the queen could be in neighbors back yard or across the street in a park. In this particular case I was able to establish the source as well as erase the trail leading to the home. The issue was dealt with without randomly spraying chemicals everywhere in the hopes that they would just go away. Just because one does not see ants by the way doesn't mean the problem has been solved. These ants work in the early morning going to and fro while we are all sleeping . I educated my clients in what to look for if and when they should reappear. Thanks again, Joe

    Raccoon problem

If I could I'd give Joe a 12 out of 10. We've got a family of 3 raccoons living under our kitchen and sunroom and couldn't find their point-of-entry. After a thorough inspection Joe found a tunnel from our neighbour's house under the alley to our house! He gave us plenty of tips and helpful advice so this doesn't happen again. If it does -- or any other critter issues pop up -- we'll be sure to call him first!

    Answer from pro:

I was amazed too. I looked at the house and thought there was only one possible way they could be getting into that extension. Sure enough the little bears had dug a tunnel from one neighbors extension across and under a walkway and into my clients boarded up extension. I'm talking about a detached home and a tunnel that was 20 feet away. The clincher for me was the raccoons ripped off the vent underneath and created a little air conditioned rent free living space. I knew they were up to something when I saw the a/c blowing under there. I had seen this scenario before except in the reverse during the winter of last year. I reinstalled the vent and we told the neighbor to board up his space and this job was finalized. Thanks again,Joe

    Termite extermination

We had discovered that our house had been infested by termites and as you can imagine, I was very distraught. I was referred to Joe from Snap Pest Control and I cannot say enough about his ability to make this situation right!! His calming words allieviated much of the anxiety I was experiencing. His service was honest and forthcoming, right down to the calculations for the amount of chemical we needed. He has made this very stressful time easier. I had "big name" companies quote twice the price without offering all the additional service that Joe offers. Thank you Joe!! You are the best!!

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for the great review. I'm always amazed at the far reaching potential of subterranean termites. A shelter tube created by the termites was seen protruding from a basement ceiling one day by my clients. They were fortunate enough to have called a local pest control company run by one of my mentors. He took one look and knew right away that the problem was termite related. The plan was to remove portions of the affected ceiling and walls to ascertain an entry point as well as develop a plan of action. I removed a 2 x 6 that was butted up against the bottom portion of a wall and discovered an used electrical box that was cut into the cinder block foundation. It was clear that the termites were entering via this spot but since the rest of the home was finished it was decided to treat all affected wood by cross drilling with a borate. I made calculations and the slab and exterior were treated with a termitcide with excellent soil bonding properties. Water issues were also addressed and a follow up visit in 6 months was arranged where the still exposed wood (showed no signs) was retreated as insurance.

    Bedbug extermination

People weren't kidding when they said Joe was the guy to go to. He was very helpful and friendly from the first moment I called to the last moment when he left. Explained to me everything that I needed to know in detail and did not hesitate to answer any of my questions. Came to my place on time and started working right away. He looked at every nook and cranny possible and didn't miss one spot. I know that cause I was there watching him lol. He spent a good 6 hours at my place making sure that everything that needs to be done has been done. Most places that I've called has said they will be there doing the same job but at a fraction of the time which makes me think, are they just rushing through my house just to get to the next job? Probably and most likely. Joe made sure to book a day with me where he could actually spend most of the day to go through everything thoroughly and not try to fit me in between jobs like the other companies would (ie. Orkin, Royal Forest, etc.). Because it was bedbugs it required a lot to do to get rid of and preventing them from coming back. A quick spray here and there won't do any good and that's what some of these other guys are doing. Anyway I'm just rambling on here but bottom line, Joe's work was beyond my expectations and I know that he will for sure be my, as well as my family and friends, go to guy for all my pest related needs. Thanks again Joe.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for the review. I must admit that bed bug jobs are particularly challenging and require a systematic approach to become successful. There are no standardized way that bed bugs are tackled. I personally like to conduct a long inspection then plan my treatment accordingly. These jobs take time and a lot attention to detail. A bed bug job can yield poor result's and even spread to non infected areas quickly. Better to leave these particular jobs to a professional or a continued re - infestation can become a true reality for a home-owner.
