I woke up Tuesday morning with a flooded area in my basement which housed hot water heater and furnace. Water was approximately 1 ft. deep. Once the water was drained I determined the water heater had failed and 20 yr. old furnace would not start again.
Water heater belonged to local Hydro and a phone call to them had the water heater replaced next day.
As for furnace I had no idea who would fix or replace it. I chose Reliance Home Comfort. Late afternoon I reached Reliance. The earliest they could come was the next morning between 7-10am. Adam, a technician came around 7:30am to diagnose damage. Result was the motherboard and fan motor were destroyed due to water damage.
Considering repair costs to a furnace 20+ years old, I decided to opt for new furnace. Adam called a sales rep. Bryan Tuckett, and he came to see me around 10am, and after talking about furnace replacement options I chose my new furnace. Bryan then called for an installer and after speaking with dispatch the installation was set for that same afternoon.
By 5pm the new furnace was up and running. I did end up spending about 30 hours with no heat and no hot water, but hydro had water heater replaced and Reliance had my new furnace installed. Also, I would like to say the 2 person installation team were very professional and pleasantly answered my questions. They did a great job in installing furnace, cleaning up after and took all waste and old furnace with them.
A special thank you to Bryan(sales rep.) for responding so quickly and was a pleasure to deal with.
I would certainly recommend Reliance home comfort to anyone who is thinking about a furnace replacement or finds themselves in the situation I was in this past Tues.
Thank you Reliance.
Happy customer!
