    Careless and clumsy!!

Last year, my mom and I moved from North York to Markham. We were living at a rental apartment in North York because we sold our house and were waiting to move into our new home in Markham. My mom and I really regretted hiring this company. When we moved to the rental apartment, we used [competitor- ed] and they were a lot more professional. Not only were they quick, they were experienced and no damages to the house or furniture. The reason we hired Jia Jia to move to our new home was because [competitor] was fully booked and partly because my mom actually believed the "Next day moving available" line in their Chinese ad. Anyways, these Jia Jia guys bumped some furniture onto the walls and when I asked them to move my treadmill to the basement, they scratched the door frame and the wall opposite of the door. One guy moved my mom's 36 in. CRT TV to her room and he was just dying. I was so afraid he would drop the TV.

    Home Moving

I had a few friends recommend me Jia Jia movers. They are mostly mandarin chinese speaking workers, but they can usually understand and sometimes speak a little english too. Booking was efficient, but they don't seem to reply to emails. The showed up on time, had 4 guys and a large truck do my entire house move in one single trip. They very carefully disassembled and wrapped my antique grand piano up beautifully, as well as a 50" rear projector view tv. They were so fast that I was still in a rush to keep up with them in terms of taking apart last minute tables and putting things into boxes for them to move. No additional charges for rolls or tapes etc that previous moving companies charged me for. One guy did break one of my ikea dresser legs (their stuff is pretty flimsy) when he tried to lift the unit all by himself. Final bill was as quoted, but they do ask you pay enough tip (approx 10%). I would use them again or recommend them to friends.

    Moving

I moved recently with these guys and was more than happy. They turned up on time, wrapped up all of my furniture for moving, and were careful with the walls and ceiling. Pros all around. The price quoted was the price that was paid. Book early to get the cheaper truck.

    Moving

When I called Jia Jia from the yellow pages they gave me a very good price of $ 50.00 an hour which is the cheapest around and if I knew they charge me $ 75.00 an hour after 9 PM, I would have taken a noon or even better time to avoid the over time, doesn't make sense right, When I refused an overtime and the next thing they do call their office back and forth waste time and threaten to leave with my stuff or throw it on the street. The next thing they took off with the truck without informing me, I almost had a heart attack. The next day I am called to their office and see a horrifying bill, although there was no overtime but they charged me for 8 hours, which was not correct....I moved out of a two-bedroom condo and any body would laugh that I was charged for 8 hours moving, now lets see how it added to 8 hours. Their Modus Operandi of this company is to give a convenient evening time, start loading slowly and once it is like 7.30 or 8 demand an overtime and helpless customers have no choice as their stuff is in the truck.
