    Bravo ROLLTEC!!

I chose ROLLTEC awnings simply because my neighbour has a 25 years old awning that still looks new! Over the years, I've watched how much enjoyment and satisfaction she's had with it, especially since she's never had a repair. So for me, it was obvious where I would purchase mine. The products speaks for itself! All the company's representatives were very professional, knowledgeable and passionate about their product & company. And of course, why wouldn't they be? The awning's design and manufacturing is of the highest quality in every aspect. Every detail, small and large, has been anticipated and accounted for. This company is well managed! I chose an automated 16 foot wide awning that is a dream to use and looks spectacular. The side curtain works well keeping out the late afternoon sun. In all my dealings with ROLLTEC, I received 100% customer satisfaction. I highly recommend this company and product. I'm so happy to know this excellence of quality and customer satisfaction still exists in Canada. Bravo ROLLTEC!!

    Adalia Extreme X3M with installation

Upon initially calling Rolltec, I was surprised at their professionalism. This was my first time buying an awning, so I did a lot of online research before calling them up. I agreed to have a salesperson come over to provide a quote. Our salesman, Steve, arrived EXACTLY on time, wasn't at all pushy and explained the product with no fancy lingo. He also informed us of a sale that they were running. We decided on the Adalia Extreme X3M with a manual crank, custom width, and a cream coloured frame. It took 4 weeks to make, they installed it within an hour and cleaned up after themselves. It's now been a couple of months and we are overall very happy with it.

    Rolltec awning service--do it yourself!

I have a Rolltec extenda awning with a 10 year warrantee (it is now 5 years old). When the arms started colliding as we retracted the awning, we called for service. Happy to come they said, and the serviceman came and put it right in under 2 minutes. I was however shocked by the $226 price tag for "service" since the office never even mentioned that just getting the guys out to your house (if it's past the first year of installation) will cost you $200. In my view, there are two ways this company can better serve its customers: (1) Inform customers ahead of time of the $200 charge for service (just for the guys turning up) (2) Provide over the phone customer support--had I been able to speak to a technician, he would easily have been able to tell me which screw to turn to fix the problem myself.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for writing your review. I am sorry that you feel this way. I would like to point out that we are not doing anything other than on your warrantee paper. With the awning you purchased we do offer 10 years manufacturing warrantee on the frame, which covers defects in parts. Labour associated with service and installation is covered 100% for the first year. We normally extend it up to 2 years after which we start to charge for labour if adjustments needed. As you mentioned, your awning is 5 years old now. We did not charge you for any parts, strictly for labour. Repair took about 20-30 minutes on site plus travelling time to your house. Please keep in mind that we are sending two technicians with fully equipped truck. When you called and questioned the charges, we reduced it for you as one time courtesy to $150.

    Repair of awning

Though I am satisfied that the repair work to replace the gear in our manual Rolltec awning had been completed, there are two areas that I am not satisfied with; - Cost of labor to replace = $200.00 Yes, I understand service call and labor charges but find that $200 for 20 minutes of work to be on the extreme side of being high. Also, the call for repair was made on Wednesday and could not get anyone out until Saturday I found to be too long of a wait Could have been more serious issues if we had high winds during these days and the awning being extended (due to gear being broke and unable to retract) - The service people that were out left grease stains on the fabric which is noticeable on the underside of awning when it is opened. Awning was installed in 2004 and had been very pleased with the installation and professionalism of the installers at that time.

    Answer from pro:

    1. Your call was received late Wednesday afternoon and we explained that this is a very busy time of the year, our installers are booked 3-4 weeks in advance, yet we can to fix your awning on the 3rd day on a Saturday which is the installers day off. I feel this is very fast service. 2. $200 labour charges is not for 20 minutes of work, this also covers travel time to and from your location. We send 2 men with a truck, our technicians are very professional and we pay them well. I think this is a reasonable charge in today's marketplace. 3. The spots which you see on the fabric is probably just dirt. We checked the broken gear when it came back and after 8 years it was very dirty. It is possible that when they were removing the gear, it touched the fabric. Just hose the fabric down with plain water or use a mild some and water solution with a soft bristle brush to remover the spot. Thank you very much for your comments and hope you enjoy your awning for many more years.

    awning over the deck

We've had a very good experience with them. The salesperson was on time, not too pushy and answered all the questions without any "smoke". The installation was quick and efficient. And best of all we have the awning now for 3 years and it's working beautifully. Rain or sun. It got a little uneven on one side- we've called the company and they explained how to adjust it.

Dear Maria, Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. We really appreciate it. Enjoy your awning.

Roll out awning for upper deck

We are very pleased with our retractable awning installation. From the moment we initially called for advice througout order process and to installation day, this company showed themself as highly professional with long awning experience. They will guide you in the right direction. The prices are very resonable. We did checked prices before we signed up with Rolltec. I found that you get best value for your dollar. We had our awning installed very early in a year. Installation is solid. Remote motor works like a charm. I would recommend this company to everybody.

    Awning installation

I was very impressed with this company. Steve was the initial point of contact as the sales rep, and he arrived right on the dot as promised at my home, which I always like...business people who show up on time! He had a wide variety of color options to choose from, which was great. The only small point of frustration was the timing and mess up surrounding the installation, which was eventually solved, but I suppose these things happen from time-to-time. Anyway, do give them a call if you're considering an awning for your home or business. I highly recommend Rolltec!

    Retractable deck awnings (2), 25' total x 11'

Thank you again for the installation guide. We rented a drywall lift to raise the awnings into place and slid them smoothly into the brackets. After installing all the bolts, we extended the awnings and did a leveling and matching adjustment to the two awnings, and we are truely delighted with finished product and ease of installation. We will get much more use from our deck now and be more comfortable in the house on sunny days as well thanks to the shade over the windows. Your product is far superior to the one my neighbour is currently installing, which he bought at Costco. He can see the difference, and the extendable valence is absolutely perfect for our situation, which Costco's does not have. Once again many thanks to you and your crew for a wonderful product and excellent service!!!! Janet & Bob Tremble

    Installed a rolltec awning 18'

Installed a rolltec awning 18'. After three months the awning started to wrinkle and keeped getting worse. Rolltec would do nothing about it just said this is normal, all awnings wrinkle. Never bein opend in the rain.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you very much for your comments. We are very sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with your awning. Unfortunately some things such as fabric wrinkles are not in our control. It is normal for awnings to wrinkle at the seams especially during first few years. When fabric is sewn together, the thikness is different where it is joined and when you roll the fabric in, wrinkles appear. Again we want to point out that this is completely normal. As fabric softens with use, you will notice that wrinkles become less noticeable.
