We had a roofer lined up to do our roof in the fall but we ended up having hail damage and Great Canadian came to look at the roof for our insurance company. The salesman at Great Canadian told us they had a cancellation and could do our roof in 3 weeks so we decided to go with them and cancelled our other guy. After they took our deposit (deductible and we upgraded to 50 year shingles) we waited to hear from them again but couldn't get our calls returned. I finally got ahold of a manager who told me their salesman was wrong and their was no way they could do our roof until next year. I was annoyed and pushed them to honour their word. After weeks of back and forth and me always having to call them as they wouldn't ever return calls, they agreed. They told us they would be roofing our roof in a few weeks. Then of course nobody showed up on the promised date....and again....and again. This continued on for weeks until randomly in the dead of winter, with no warning, a guy was on our roof ripping off the shingles. Great Canadian clearly subcontracted this job to 3 guys with a truck. They worked hard, it was freezing and I felt terrible for them. They were working in snowstorms and very cold temperatures. Given a heads up from Great Canadian, we never would have agreed to this. I couldn't even get the management at Great Canadian to call me back when the workers decided to leave their giant Husky in our yard without our knowledge. The very worst part was these guys didn't use tarps or care about making a mess. Now that spring is here I have filled up garbage cans full of shingles and debris. I have picked up hundreds of nails in our yard. I would avoid this company.

I wish I had same pleasant experiece with great canadian as other customers, but great canadian is not great to me at all, they are very bad at customer care, they only be nice to you before you hand the job to them, then very rude and money focus!

Great company up front...salesman did a great job of selling the company, getting the right work done and finally scheduled was not so great. Numerous calls had to be made to figure out what was going on for our various projects.

I orginally contacted this group for a quote for new siding. Their quote was very accurate and broke down all the costs. But it was just out of budget at the time. So we looked into insulation! They were awesome with the quote and insulation. When i get the $$ for the siding I will be contacting them

The estimator came out promptly to look at our leaky veranda roof in the fall, but it took a LONG time (over a month) to receive the formal estimate and have the work done. It took several phone calls (and finally one to the vice president), but eventually they came out. The repairs seem to have worked... we've now had a few warm days with melting and, so far, no leaks!

These guys were very fast. They did the whole job in about a half a day. I saw them show up in the morning and when I came back at noon they were almost done. I wish I had stayed around to see them work. Pretty impressive. The lines on the shingles were not as straight as I usually see, but it's really not noticeable. There were no leaks, so that's what matters.

Started this project in july and was told the siding job was approximately 4 days. Demolition certainly went fast and crew was knowledgeable and very pleasant. However, kept running out of material because apparently the salesman "always under orders"....Had to wait each time but the longest was a six week wait to finish one side of the house. Meanwhile our front lawn and small special garden died. Only some calls were answered and it was always "the end of the week". Material finally arrived and half way through it turns out that two types of material were sent. Then we find out that the majority of our house was done in material that has been discontinued so either they rip everything off and start agian or just finish this one side with slighlly different material. We said just finish the side and then get on to the sophits etc. This happened. However, the sophits for the front of the house (in the veranda) was "short" again. Not only did we wait the 6 week for the siding that was different but over 6 weeks now for the sophits. The veranda was started but cannot be finished until this is completed. Here it is November 2nd an it is still incomplete. Two days ago a package of something showed up on our lawn in the snow but has not been used as of yet. Can't use the front door for last month. Was a hazard if halloweening children came by so we had to block it off and pretend we weren't at home to keep them away. We looked into this company and saw so many great reviews but we've had extremely bad luck. Sure the guys are friendly when they come but if they only come every 6 weeks and now it's winter.... This should have been totally complete by my birthday in mid August...need I say that I am very angry? I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy...total disaster. We chose the most expensive finishes and even that didn't make a difference.

They did an excellent job from start to finish. I highly recommend this company for this service. After 2 days the complete roof was finished, and there was no evidence that they were even there except for a brand new roof.

My roof suffered damage during a windstorm and the repair was done as an insurance claim (I paid the deductible). Great Canadian Roofing was recommended by the insurance company. They informed ahead of time of when supplies would be delivered and when they would start work. They provided written guidelines of how I should prepare the house and yard for the work. They showed up when they said they would. When they were finished, they left the yard clean - I have found no roofing materials in the yard. They were quick and efficient - the job was done in just over a day (they would have been done in a day but ran short of one type of material). Most of the work was done while I was at work but I did meet the crew the second morning and they were polite and well presented. The only reason I am not giving the company 5 out of 5 is I have nothing to compare this against and I have an aversion to giving top rating except in cases of exceptional, one in a million, above and beyond, service.

The work was good but it did take some time, and a few phone calls to get them out. They kept saying they were coming. It was a busy time for them and our siding issue was not an emergency. Otherwise we were happy.
