    basement drain clog

My laundry drain line was blocked. They cleared my stoppage drain line in the basement. Successfully cleared it and it worked fine for awhile. 4 months later the problem reappeared. Called to see if they would give me a discount on re-fixing the same problem. They said no. As per the company's response that the technician would come inspect for free - I was considering it until they suggested it was probably my fault for not also signing up for the expensive enzyme treatment that had been offered as an additional service, and gave no indication there would be any discount on this followup service call.

    Answer from pro:

Hello Jim, In reviewing the recorded conversation, it seems that there might have been some confusion. Our dispatcher was trying to explain that she would not have any control over the pricing, and that we would be able to send the technician back to your home at no charge to investigate. The technician would be more suited to determine whether or not the repair would be covered under warranty, or performed at a discounted rate. Although the standard 60 day warranty for your service has expired, there are circumstances which would extend the warranty period. Unfortunately, our office staff would not be able to determine that over the phone. As always, we would be glad to send a technician at no charge to investigate your drainage issue. Feel free to give us a call back or send us an e-mail if you'd like to set up an appointment. Thank you & have a great day

Emergency plumbing service - basement drain backed up

Discovered basement drain back up. Called Mr Rooter based on neighbour's recommendation. Ryan arrived less than an hour after I called. Resolved the issue quickly. Very professional - provided cost estimate up front, offered options, and explained the process clearly. Very satisfied with result and would highly recommend Mr. Rooter for plumbing services.

Install new shut off vales for hot and cold flow to washer

Stuck on the long weekend with cut pipes and new washer arriving, water shut off and to the rescue comes Mr. Rooter. Within three hours of phone call, technician arrived, assessed problem and got to work. Within an hour, valves put on pipes, water turned back on and washer connected. Absolutely no hesitation to recommend Mr. Rooter and will definitely use them again for my residence and rental property. Many thanks to my technician Matt Archambault for his quick efficient service and recommendations. Thanks again, GREAT experience. !!!!

leaking from the bathtub into the living ceiling

I called Mr Rooter after my shower when the water from the bathtub was leaking from my living room ceiling. The service was great and professional. The service people were great and did more than my expectation. More than satisfied and would recommend to my friends and neighbours.

    Sewage back-up

We had an emergency sewage back-up from our basement drain. I called a number of plumbers and Mr Rooter was the only one with availability to come immediately. He was at our house within an hour. He investigated a number of possible reasons for the backup and did a thorough inspection of all of our stacks and pipes. After identifying the issue he was able to solve the problem (don't use Charmin toilet paper!) and was complete by 12:30. For 3+ hours of investigation and hard/messy work I considered $600 extremely reasonable, and will definitely call Mr. Rooter for our next plumbing job, whether it is emergency or not. Would highly recommend!

    Plumbing repair

Mr. Rooter is great when you have an emergency like a burst pipe, because they usually have someone there very quickly. This is why I give their number to my tenants. HOWEVER: If you have a job that can wait, do yourself a favour and shop around, because I have found quotes by Mr. Rooter to be more than 4X as much as other companies! I understand that they have more overhead and administration and therefore would have to be somewhat more expensive, but I have one example where they initially quoted me over $600 for a repair job that was completed by another company for less than $150!!! That's a bit much...

    Septic tank plumbing

During the winter our plumbing backed up and Mr Rooter came out on short order. They could not determined the cause from inside and started excavating the septic tank. This was the major expense as they had to chip through frozen ground which took time. We had a frozen pipe and a cluster of small roots at the baffle. I'm new to septic and found the guys were great about explaining the system, the cause and suggesting how to prevent issues in the future.

    Sewer backup

We had a sewer back up just days after we moved into our house. This was so stressful. The gentlemen came and snaked it out almost to the road. Unfortunately some of those heavy Brown paper towels had been flushed down the toilet by the previous owners. This man did an amazing job and even used an industrial javex and cleaned the laundry tubs and floor. He was very professional for a very dirty job.

    Declogging storm sewer drain

We live in Barrhaven, Ottawa. During an evening of June 2103, our storm sewer drain pipe got clogged, and started to flood near the furnace in the basement. The following morning, we called a number of plumbing companies around, to gather some quotes and book an appointment. All plumbing companies were not available until the afternoon of that day. Mr. Rooter was the first one at our place, and sent a rep. by 9:00 am. Ryan S was very courteous, but the quote was twice as expensive as the other companies. However, we decided to go with Mr. Rooter mainly because Ryan took the time to explain us what was involved (kudos Ryan): he did not exert pressure on us to make a decision, but explained us what we were facing. We negotiated that he would fix a leaky fawcet at no additional charge, which he agreed to. We were told that unlike other plumbing companies, Mr. Rooter's higher fees incorporate after office hours, and had we contacted them the night the incident occurred, the price would have been the same. Overall, we are happy with the service. If faced with an emergency, call Mr. Rooter. However, if the issue can wait, may be, you should shop around for more competitive quotes. If you call Mr. Rooter, try to get Ryan S to help you: you will get first class service.

    Emergency Plumbing

Fast and effective. We were in desperate need for a quick repair and these guys were the only ones that could accommodate our timeline without taking my kidney! The pipes were ridiculously damaged and Mr. Rooter barely batted an eyelash. They answered all our questions and got right to work. Couldn't be happier with the service we received after we thought all hope was lost! I'd definitely recommend them. Their prices can be pretty high but they were fair when we discussed options.
