After noticing a wet carpet in the basement and some wood damage to a desk, we knew there was a crack in the basement foundation. After reading a lot of reviews on Homestars we came across MMT Waterproofing. Mario and his team were incredible. Mario was thorough in diagnosing the issue (as well as the proposed fix) His team was professional, careful and quick. He provided us with a quote within 48 hour of calling and was able to start the work the week after we had a 'locate' on our gas line. His team finished the job in only 3 days (would have been quicker except for a day of rain) and treated our property (and our neighbours...where they had to keep the dirt from digging) with total care. They dug up the side of the house, fixed the crack and reinforced the entire wall. Getting a basement crack fixed is never fun, but we couldn't have asked for better service than what MMT provided.

This year I had record amounts of snow melting while at the same time it was raining hard and as a result I had some seepage coming in from the basement walls in my 112 year old house. I consulted many water proofing companies about resolving the issue and chose Mario based on his knowledge and his approach. He takes his time to investigate and recommends the best approach to solve the issue. Based on that, I hired him instantly as he seemed the most knowledgeable and felt at ease that I was with a professional. Plus he's a nice friendly guy (including his team). Project took about 5 days total and Mario is very good at communicating and scheduling, something I find is lacking with a lot of contractors. We are now waterproofed and the sound of the sump pump going off in torrential rains is a beautiful thing! We have had some grading issues (as expected as the ground settles) since the project completed, but MMT will return to address any issues as part of their service! When I first contacted MMT, Mario called back within hours of my call. I explained a rather unusual situation with our sump pump and the flow of water into it. Mario not only genuinely listened to my concerns but offered a reasonable solution we both could accept. A few weeks later, Mario and his crew came and did the work as agreed to, taking several pictures showing me what was done. I found the crew extremely hard working and above all very courteous. They reflected the personality of Mario himself. Mario is patient, always responded to my questions honestly without exaggeration. I would definitely hire MMT again for any future work. This is the first time I've given a review as i feel Mario and MMT was most deserving of it.

A corner of our basement had water seeping in due to a crack in the foundation. I put this off longer than I should have because I knew the research wouldn’t be easy. I read dozens of reviews on HomeStars before settling on nine companies. Only four called back. I had two estimates booked, and both reps from each company arrived on time. We decided we needed a third estimate and called Mario. I was surprised when Mario answered the phone. I had to leave messages for the other companies, and wait for a call back to book an appointment. Many times, I had to follow up because no one called me back. Mario came the next day and he was on time. He explained everything in detail and provided us with two viable options. The work could be done externally or internally. After weighing the pros and cons, we chose to fix the issue internally. The project would include internal waterproofing on our foundation, and installation of a new drainpipe. We already had major renovations completed, and our biggest concerns were any damage to our new hardwood floors, walls or doors. Mario assured us his team would take all necessary precautions. His company is family owned, so he explained that he or a member of his family would always be onsite. We were still feeling anxious about the project and Mario said he would be at the job site himself to supervise. Five days before the project, Mario texted me to confirm. On the day of, Mario and two of his team members, Tom and Bogdan showed up on time. They worked efficiently and always took care of our home when they had to go in/out. It was a lot of work, and they only took one short break for lunch. Mario was true to his word and stayed on site, making calls from his truck, and always within an arm’s reach if his team or we needed him. He only left once to pick up some materials his team needed. We were surprised when the project was completed six hours later. Mario inspected the work and we had a short discussion before he left. There was a lot of mud and debris left from the project, but when I went downstairs, Tom and Bogdan had cleaned everything up! We were very pleased with the work! We had some other issues outside with our landscaping, downspouts and asphalt driveway. We asked Mario for some referrals. He said he rarely refers even though he is confident, because if we happen to be one out of a hundred with a negative experience, it would look bad on him and may damage our relationship. I have never heard anyone explain it this way, and it really goes to show how caring and thoughtful Mario is. We said we would take our chances, and he provided us with three referrals. Mario said he would even come back to help if needed. We are extremely happy with Mario, his professionalism and the project. What we thought was stressful went very smoothly! I highly recommend MMT Waterproofing. It’s important to seek several estimates; however, we are confident you will hire Mario!

Mario came to our house to gave us a quote to deal with basement leakage. He gave us all the possible options (interior or exterior water proofing) with detailed explanations. Mario and his crew always arrived on time, finished the work within 3 days as promised, and spend extra time to grade soil and put back gravels on properly. Mario sent me pictures of the site to explain what was done that day and the crew cleaned up all their mess each time as well. I am very impressed with how Mario interact with us. He was knowledgeable, very patient with my questions and followed through his promises. We are happy that we chose MMT waterproofing and highly recommend their service.

Mario was very conscientious in taking care of myself and the job was done quickly and efficiently - He is very knowledgeable about waterproofing and his team were great. I do not usually give people a 10, and was surprised at how many competing contractors received so high of scores, but these guys were deserving of my score - excellent job.
