Change leaking kitchen faucet, no price, left loose

Leaking kitchen faucet needed replacement. I turned off the main water to the house. I purchased a $299.00 MOEN faucet, top of the line. Called McKeena based on reviews seen on Homestars which I prefer to do. The rep told me they could come the very next day (Friday) which was fast. I could not take the day off work so they offered to come Saturday which worked well for me. At no point ways price ever discussed. The price in the end for Saturday visit was reasonable. They really should inform clients the hourly rate prior to doing any work. Preferable on the phone. The two guys who came were both very courteous and friendly. They jested that this was the third of the same model faucet they installed that week. They did mention that it was difficult to get in behind the sink and they were having some difficulty tightening. But they managed to get it installed and even cleaned up after their clutter. Asked me for a waste bag for the old parts. I was pleased with them. After 5 days the faucet became loose. I called back McKeena and they promptly advised me that all the goose neck MOEN faucets were giving trouble and recommended I remove and return it back to the store, and I should have bought a faucet from McKeena instead to avoid this issue. He did advise they could come back to tighten it, but it would just get loose in another 1-2 weeks. He recommended I purchase one from him and he would come to install it the next day. I turned down his offer to charge me for a second faucet installation. The next day I went under the sink and found the nut keeping the faucet tight was very loose. I found a wrench and spent a few minutes tightening it myself. It was hard to get in to tighten. It has now been a month and the faucet is tight as ever, even with me intentionally trying to shake and loosen it. I am disappointed that McKeena did not immediately come to check why the faucet was loose before insisting the faucet was faulty. I was also disappointed that at no time was price ever discussed until the bill came out. I would not use them again. Not because of price, but because they assumed the faucet was the issue and not the installation. Additional: I was requested by HomeStars to provide a copy of my paid invoice, which I did, otherwise HomeStars would have pulled down my honest review. I am not a competitor as McKenna might claim. Simply put McKenna did not install properly and they made me feel it was the manufactures fault, when it it actually theirs. All they had to do was come and tighten the faucet but they did not want to honour their warrant. Hopefully they do not try any retribution for my honest review.

Hi Sean, at no time have we revived a call about this situation. We can not find a Sean in Oakville Kitchen faucet install. Further to that A Mckenna Plumbing does not sell Kitchen faucets it is clearly stated on our Web site. Please post your written invoice in the photo bar to confirm proof of purchase or please remove this review. A McKenna Plumbing provides Warranty on all work 1 year from to day the work was done no question asked. We have contacted Homestar as we believe this is a false review put forth by a competitor.

    Frozen and burst pipes

Came home from vacation to find furnace broken and pipes frozen and subsequently burst. Mark was extremely helpful and only too willing to co-ordinate with the timing of the replacement furnace to come and fix our burst pipes. Came that day - highly recommend

    Shower Value Replacement

I hired A Mckenna Pluming to correct a leaky shower value in my shower. They showed up when they said they were going to, did what they had to do, cleaned up after themselves and finished the job. They were very professional in their manner towards me and my family. This company was referred to me by a neighbour on my street and I would highly recommend you using them.

Replacing water faucets for washing machines

This is an unsolicited review. This is at least the third time we have used A McKenna et al for plumbing jobs. This job consisted of replacing the faucets that supply water to our washing machine. Our 16 year old unit broke down and required replacement. When the unit was replaced and hooked up, there were leaks from the hot and cold water faucets, which had corroded. I called Mark (owner) who returned my call promptly and we booked a time for them to come (next day). They (Rob) arrived punctually. Rob was polite, identified the problem, explained it clearly as well as the repair necessary. He was fastidious and performed the replacement/repair carefully (not a drop of water on the floor). The bill was very reasonable. These guys are licensed plumbers, which distinguishes them from a lot of other companies that advertise themselves as plumbers and both professional and knowledgeable. I recommend them highly with no reservations.

Shower valve and blocked outside drain

Having used mckenna on 2 or 3 previous occasions abd been very happy with their performance they were my first call for two jobs; a shower valve replacement and clearing a blocked outside drain. The shower was fixed very quickly but In the end we were unable to clear the drain - we think its collapsed - but the guys were friendly and helpful and i would reccommend them.

connect water line to new refrigerator

I have consistently received top-notch service from A McKenna Plumbing for the past five years. Mark and his staff respond quickly, they are polite and knowledgeable. Today they came to connect the water line to my new refrigerator. I was not expecting it but they also removed all the packaging and set it up as well and made sure it was level. Great job!

    Cracked Pipe

I called because of a cracked pipe I had in the basement. They came in the same day, and replaced the cracked section. They were friendly, helpful, and efficient. They gave me some ideas about what may have caused the crack, and how to avoid problems in the future. Overall I'm completely satisfied with the service and quality, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to my friends and family.

    basement leak

Two days before my parents were going away on vacation, I went to their basement and found puddles all over the floor. I had a very positive experience with A McKenna about a year ago so I called them up again and they answered on the first ring and agreed to come out the next morning. They arrived on time, explained the leak to my parents and managed to fix it on the spot. My parents were impressed and so am I. Thanks again for your prompt, courteous service. It is nice to find a company that responds quickly, shows up on time, explains the problem thoroughly and follows through with a remedy quickly. Many thanks!

    Outside tap repair

Switched on my outside tap for the first time this year, the basement was covered in water in seconds. Looked up a plumber on Google found this company sent an email. Within a few minutes I received a call saying they could come out in 45 mins. Rob & Matt arrived as promised. Evaluated the situation quickly cut open the drywall, replaced the fittings and gave good advise about how to drain the system in the winter. Very quick, efficient, tidy, polite, professional company. I now have the best outside tap in the neighbourhood!

    Pipe replacement

I emailed Mark he called me to set a time to meet. He came on Friday and provided a quote. We scheduled the work for the next Monday. His crew arrived on time and ready with all they needed. They completed the work ahead of schedule. They were professional, cleaned up, walked me through the job on completion and did high quality work. Very impressive. It is a pleasure to do business with a company like this that puts the customer first and exceeds expectations.
