    Shower valve replacement

I had an issue with a failing shower and contacted McKenna's. From the outset they were professional and knowledgeable. They turned up on time, gave me an estimate, completed the work quickly, it cost what they said (which isn't usually the case with Trades !), they tested everything, tidied up and did a fantastic job. Rob (the plumber) and his mate (Matt) were outstanding, I will use these guys again and would definitely recommend them

    Plumbing Leak & Frozen Drain

McKenna Plumbing are excellent communicators, expert professionals, on time, fair priced and provide quality service. Returned home late evening to a plumbing nightmare from 2 week Florida vacation during first week of March. Plumbing leak in finished basement ceiling which was least of problems. And, frozen drain in finished ceiling of detached garage from Coach House apartment above, which was major problem. Called McKenna plumbing first thing next morning. Two plumbers (master and assistant) arrived on site in less than 2 hours from time of call. The Coach house frozen drain was a challenge due to permanent foam insulation and location above a support beam. In addition, the garage was very cold and required a portable kerosene Torpedo heater to provide a workable environment. I have to give these guys full credit for sticking with it for 3+ hours despite miserable working conditions, a cramped space to effect repair and for providing a cost savings creative solution i.e. 'sleeve' for replacement of cracked PVC drain pipe. Cost for this portion of work was $760 which was a bargain due to creative solution. Could easily been double that amount otherwise. Leaking pipe in basement ceiling was due to failed solder joint on a 90° bend in copper cold water pipe. Easy fix once located. Cost $217.00. The plumbers did a good job of cleaning up the mess and took the ruined dry wall, cracked drain and copper pipe repair trash away with them. Their card is now in my rolodex file. I highly recommend McKenna Plumbing and personally would not consider using any other plumbing firm as long as I reside in Oakville - Burlington area.

    Bathtub Leak

I called A McKenna for service on my upstairs bathtub that was leaking into my dining room downstairs. To my suprise I got an appointment for the next morning between 9:00 and 10:00 am. Again to my suprise the 2 Plumbers showes up at 9:02 am. The 2 of them were very professional and found the problem within seconds. It was then explained to me what the issue was, how much it would cost and how long it would take to fix. Once I agreed to go ahead and have it repaired before I knew it the job was complete. It took them 20 minutes to fix the issue with my bathtub and my shower and with everything included the cost was only @282.00 including service call, parts, labor and taxes. I would have no problem recommending this company to anybody needing any plumbing repairs done. GREAT JOB GUYS.

    Bathroom rough-in

I called McKenna for an estimate for a basement bathroom rough in. They stated over the phone the cost for "most" rough-ins is $1800 but would need to see it for an exact estimate. They would charge $160 for this but would offset the cost if the job was done by McKenna. I decided to go ahead with the estimate as $1800 seemed inline with the other companies estimates and McKenna seemed great over the phone. When they arrived however the cost ballooned to over $2500 since my bathroom is "big" (I don't think so). This would have been a great thing to mention before coming and wasting $160. Incidentally, they are the only company to come for an estimate that did not leave any sort of written estimate.

Mr Gillespie had contacted A McKenna Plumbing on 4 separate occasion over a two month span to inquire about our services. He was inquiring because he liked what customers had to say about our quality of workmanship and our honesty on Homestars. Mr Gillespie was interested in a basement bathroom rough in, and wanted to discuss what his option were. During the coarse of all of his phone calls Mr Gillespie was told that the (Average 3 piece Rough In) price was $1800.00. He would say thank you and end the conversation. During the 4th phone call he stated that he had many FREE quotations from other companies but wanted to use our services. Mr Gillespie then asked if we would come out to site to inspect and give a final quote as too his Bathroom spec's. Mr Gillespie was informed in all of his phone conversations that onsite visits were $145.00. This includes drive time quotations and request for City Permit as you do need a City Permit to complete this type of alteration to your plumbing system. Mr Gillespie also was told on all four phone conversations that the $145 would go towards his project. NOT SURE WHY YOU WOULD PAY US TO QUOTE YOUR JOB IF YOU HAD SIMILAR FREE QUOTES FROM OTHER PLUMBING COMPANIES . DURRING our visit (1.5hr) we spoke to him about his bathroom, that was nothing like he had described in any of his phone conversations. The project was much larger and included the supply and installation of a Sump Pump. He was left a quote, and later that day he called our office to hire us. We will post the voicemails of his requests as they are A McKenna Plumbing Ltd property. OUR OFFICE received a voice mail the morning of the scheduled start date Tuesday January 13 this voicemail simply stated that Mr Gillespie would like to cancel the job, He stated on the phone he would call back at a later date to reschedule. A McKenna Plumbing is a family run business operating for 15 years in Oakville,Burlington and Milton. We have a stellar track record within the community . At no time did we receive a call from Mr Gillespie to discuss this matter, just this review that is totaly false. We have contacted Mr Gillespie and put him on notice of the inconsistency of his review. His only response was SUE ME!!!!!

Plumbing - new stop and drain

I have asked McKenna Plumbing to install a new stop valve in my basement and new hose bib in my basement. The old valve was leaking and my hose bib fell away from the old fixture. The job took 45 minutes. Rob and his partner were professional, polite and efficient. All along I felt they were experts I could rely on. Quality, price and timeliness - exceptional. I would recommend McKenna service to all homeowners in the area. Thank you McKenna Plumbing. Renee

    Fridge water line removal

I've been using Homestars and had a lot of luck lately with the contractors that come highly recommended. While searching for "plumbing in Oakville" I came across A McKenna Plumbing who had the highest rating. They returned my call promptly and upon speaking to him this afternoon, after asking "When do you need this done by?", when I said "As soon as possible" - he had someone at my door within the hour. Great service guys! P.S. - I had three other things on the list that I wanted done. The two guys that were here were knowledgeable and saved me money on things that I really didn't need. Kudo's to you for not pushing me into something I did not need.

    Main drain backup

We had another big name company come out to look at a problem we had been having with our main drain backing up, and they recommended re-lining our pipe (we were then quoted $4000 to have this done). We had A. McKenna Plumbing come out for a second opinion, and they suggested running a snake with some sort of cutter blade on it. They explained that this would clear all the roots growing through our old clay pipe and solve the backup problem (at a fraction of the cost to re-line the pipe). We decided to go ahead with the snake, and booked an appointment for the next day. The guys showed up on time, and had the drain cleared in a few hours. We were very satisfied with the prompt, professional service provided by this local company, and will use them for all our future plumbing needs.

    Plumbing

I called A McKenna Plumbing to fix my clogged kitchen sink. Mark had his team out first thing the next day and on time. After trying to snake the pipe twice but without results, his staff were persistent and tadaa, fixed the issue! They clearly explained what was wrong, what they did to fix it, provided information on maintence, were priced fairly and were very clean considering the messy job they had to do.I've used A McKenna in the before and based on this most recent experience, they will be my first choice when it comes to plumbing services.
