    MICE TROUBLES!!!!

After hearing scratching noises in October of 2014, I called another Pest Control company and they did a basic job by throwing poison everywhere and not wanting to come back. I then called Joe in the April of 2015 and he came out and did an Inspection of my attic. Joe was reasonable and knowledgeable and knew where the possible points of entries were. He came back in June 2015 and sealed them up and scattered poison around the areas. I was totally impressed with his calm demeanour and how professional he was. He couldn't fully guarantee the return of the mice because I live in a townhouse complex but was so determined to eliminate all possible options and for that I am grateful.

    Answer from pro:

The job involved a proper inspection and I had to move some insulation around to finally remedy the situation in the attic. Mice were getting into the walls via a plumbing vent stack . Since most plumbers tend to cut larger holes for venting I had to seal off the area with quarter inch mesh from the inside of the attic to stop the mice. Also, the exterior showed some evidence of mice climbing vertically up and into an exposed and aged gap in some window caulking on the 2 story window. This particular window had rodent rub marks all over it and I sealed it as well. The window was the source of all my clients problems. A little mesh, some staples and silicone were all that was needed to remedy this situation.

    Pavement ant infestation

I've had a perpetual issue with pavement ants coming into my home under my patio doors for a number of years now. At their worst, when I was trying to deal with it myself, they would come up into my kitchen by the hundreds, and I'd even have a dozen or more flying ants flying around as well. I've also had some other pest control companies help out in the past and they've done a reasonably good job of keeping the ants at bay, at least on the inside. Joe went above and beyond all that and I've yet to see a single ant inside or outside in the areas he treated. Instead of just treating the areas he could see, Joe went so far as to pull down the insulation in the basement, caulk up any holes he could find where the ants were able to get in, and lay down a ton of the dust along the edges that were otherwise hidden behind the insulation. He also did a great job returning all the insulation when he was finished the job. I really couldn't be happier with the work that was done. I feel now like I won't need to treat this issue very year and I won't start to panic at the first hint of warm weather for fear of the ant arming marching its way up into my kitchen. Thanks so much, Joe!

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for your review. Pavement ants and patterned concrete seem to go hand in hand. Clearly, the issue revolved around submerged foundation at the stair level. The insulation was removed and treated with a residual dust, then reinstalled. Also the seam and the lower plate were sealed with silicone. If an ant could possibly make it in to that basement from this location in the future it will perish. Why no other exterminator could not take the 30 minutes to do this one step is beyond me.

    Pest Control - Termites

Just want to say thanks Joe for a job well done. We discovered we had termites in the garage last fall and Joe came promptly to inspect when we called him. He confirmed it was termites and explained that because termites are inactive in winter that we should wait until the spring to take action. In May he came back and explained the whole process advised what steps to take to help combat termites then did what he said he would. He was very knowledgable about our problem. He did a great job and his price was very reasonable. He is great to work with and clearly explains what he is doing and is very thorough. We would highly recommend him. Thanks Joe John and Sue

    Answer from pro:

Thanks guys. A very formidable pest to deal with and I'm happy it all worked out so well. Termite jobs are tricky in that no two are ever the same. My clients were went as far as having a trench dug up so that I could treat the soil as it was back filled. Also, in tandem with a sub slab injection the cinder blocks themselves were drilled and treated. The garage was re-framed with blue wood ( boric acid based ) as added insurance.Termites can be found even in Burlington. Who would have thought.

    mice inspection

Called Joe because my daughter was fed up with years and years of mice problems. I tried and just wasn't successful. Joe came and showed me areas were mice were coming in that I never saw before. Finally, I know what's been the cause of all the trouble. I will do the sealing myself and if that doesn't work then Joe is just a call away. Great guy.

Thanks for your review. Great feeling to know that my extensive investigative approach to finding mouse access into homes is helping people get some much needed answers to lingering mouse issues. There are times when a problem simply requires a fresh perspective with an unbiased approach. Most homeowners develop a familiarity with their homes which makes it difficult to spot an existing opening because it simply disappears into the landscape. This type of story is why I truly love my job.Joe

    Carpenter Ants

Joe from Snap Pest Control was able to come the very next day after calling them. He located the ant nest almost immediately and sprayed the area. He also made recommendations for the prevention of new ant nests from forming. I would definitely do business again for any pest control service.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks guys. I located the main nest and isolated two other satellite colonies which were directly in line with a bay window. My client has a little work ahead of himself to remove some conducive conditions but in the end the ants will be gone.

    Mice problem

We had a mouse problem (not too widespread) and called Joe right away because we were very happy with how he secured our roof and attic from squirrels last year. He found a couple of spots where they could be coming in, in addition to finding a big problem with a basement window that no else ever noticed! He suggested we do the small fixes ourselves and showed us how - I offered to compensate him for his time, but he kept refusing! Very nice gentleman, very professional, and I will not hesitate to call Joe back if we have another problem.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks guys for your kind review. During the course of my inspection I tend to discover problem areas which may be conducive to pests. The window repair was complex and best left to a contractor. ,Joe

    Pest Control

We cannot speak highly enough of Joe. We had Joe treat our newly bought house in February 2015 for mice (all the mice are gone!). We really appreciated his knowledge, honesty and price. We to found Snap Pest Control through the Homestars website, and I can honestly say that all the positive reviews that we read on here were accurate. We have since recommended Snap Pest Control to others and we will indeed be utilizing Joe's services into the future.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks guys. I am happy your mice are gone. Mice are everywhere and its not getting any better. Even now in June I've been getting calls for mice. Mice seem to be an all year round phenomena. Get those homes mouse proofed before mid August or else the little critters will be already inside .Joe

    pest control for suspected termites

We contacted several pest control services for a suspected termite problem. Joe Bruno from SNAP told us based on what we told him over the phone that it cannot be termites and wanted us to send a photo. Once it was done he advised us not to waste money as it did not seem to be termites and that he will come and have a look. The price he quoted was far more less than what others quoted for a visit inspection. He came on time, did a professional job and confirmed that our problem is not termites. He advised me of what needs to be done, reviewed the area and put some dust powder to control the ants. I would recommend him for his professional and courteous services to anyone I know.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks guys for your review. I have been involved with the termite side of pest control now for many years. The common issues are winged ants and their similarity with reproductive termites. Interestingly enough this has been a busy year indeed for swarming termites and ants. Thanks again.

    Raccoon removal

I would like to thank Joe for the help he gave us when we had a raccoon that entered our house through the roof. He came the same day and made sure that all possible points of entre was protected. He then create a door for the raccoon to exit. This was yesterday and the raccoon is out and trying to get back in but he is not able to. Joe did a great job and was very professional in explaining to me the possible options. I would strongly recommend his services.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks guys. Seeing a raccoon try and fail to get through my work feels like I've done my job. It is good to know that baby season is over now and the damage and baby raccoons crying into the night somewhat abated. This is the time however to pest proof houses before the fall which I'm already thinking about. Joe

    Pests be gone ...

Joe is amazing. We have used SNAP twice now (once for raccoons in the roof and second time for rats in the basement). Joe is extremely knowledgeable but more importantly honest and realistic. He put our minds at ease in both instances. He is also non-judgmental and gets right to work on a solution that will be long term, not just a quick fix. I would recommend Joe to anyone and I can't say enough positive things about his service. Thanks Joe, but hopefully we won't be seeing you soon!

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for your review.I get the "won't be seeing you again thing" all the time. Should this actually come to pass then I've done my Job. Joe
