    Termite control

I am thankful we found Joe through referral. We realized we had a termite problem so Joe came to the house, did an initial, detailed assessment recommending that various walls and ceilings be opened up to get an idea of the scope of the problem. Joe worked well with our tradesman who did the demolition. When we opened up walls/ceilings, Joe came and quickly identified key termite entry points and attraction areas due to old studwork and water leakage/downspout issues. He did some initial spot sprays and patiently walked us through the process and future steps we need to take. He always answered my questions. He came back two more times to spray (and also drilled holes in floor joices to improve effectiveness) using different products for brick walls and wood that are apparently less toxic than what other companies use. This was a positive in my eyes. There is more work to be done but we feel we are in good hands with a knowledgeable professional and a nice person we trust. Thanks, Joe.

Thank you for you review. I know that this job is still a work in progress however it is reassuring to know that the termites are indeed out of the structure. Conducive conditions leading to the termite issue have been addressed. . I would monitor the home for now and re-inspect come the spring. I like to conduct my termite treatments in the later spring months after the initial rains have subsided. Spring rains dilute the treatment at a time when the termites themselves are working there way up from the soil ( approx. 4 feet below grade ) . It is important that the termites encounter the barrier correctly with the correct potency. I look forward to concluding this secondary treatment. Joe

    Home Pest Control

So, we moved into a new home, and discovered that we had a mouse problem. I immediately called one of the major pest control companies to take care of the problem. They showed up, put a few boxes around, and spread some poison. They were never able to tell me exactly how the mice were gaining access to my home. This amazing service cost me just about $400. The deal was that this fee would cover me for a year of service calls. I was not impressed. The technicians were in no did out of my house super fast. No one could be bothered to check out the perimeter of my home properly to see how these things wee getting in, they were only interested in checking the lock boxes, and replenishing the poison baits. Fast forward to the following fall. Again, the mice were back. There was no way I was going to call back this big company, so I took to the internet. After reading a few reviews, I decided to call Snap Pest Control. Joe came to my home and then spent the next three hours scouring the perimeter of my house, including looking under my deck, to source out the origin of the mice. He figured it out! He sealed up the gaps that he found, and spent some time going through the house to lay poison along the trail that the mice seemed to be using, it has been over a year now, and for the first fall since w.e have moved here, no mice! I would highly recommend Snap Pest Control to anyone with a pest problem, Joe is a caring, patient individual that takes the time to find out the source of the problem, instead of offering bandaid solutions. Thanks again, Joe!

Thanks for a such a nice review. Once again the same story whereby exterior inspections are just not done. It takes less time to find and plug a hole properly for once and for all then to continuously make repeat visits and just bait. I am truly amazed. Joe

    mice

I'm here to write a review of Joe's service about six months after his visit. I'm happy to say that since he came to the house, we haven't seen any signs of mice. Joe is both very friendly and incredibly professional. We'd previously hired another pest service we found via homestars to address our mouse problem, and while they baited the house sufficiently so the problem disappeared for a while, the mouse returned soon enough. Joe on the other hand really worked to address our problem: he found possible entry sources and even went as far getting underneath our wooden front steps to properly block an entry point. Joe, thanks so much for your help. I'm so grateful we found you. Your services was outstanding, and you charged far less than your competitors who did much less to help us. We've already recommended you to friends.

Thanks for the great review. I remember the job well. I had to remove most of the front porch to find the hole which was located under the front door on the left hand side. I had seen the scenario many times before in this style of Victorian home and made a mental note whilst ringing the doorbell. Afterwards I inserted a scope in this very spot and sure enough there it was. Quarter inch mesh and cement were used to secure the opening. I even screwed some weakened spots with extra 3 inch deck screws. I figured why not make it safer as well. Once again this review clearly demonstrates that finding and closing access points is possible. Thanks again,Joe

    termite control

We called Joe from Snap in the summer because we noticed termites in the basement. Joe came and inspected the basement and made suggestions. I’m very happy with the idea that Joe did the investigation carefully. He pointed out to us that there were specific problems connected with the accumulative causes of the termites (e.g. the position of our downspouts and blocked drains, the flooding in Toronto etc.) As part of the plan, we were advised to remove all wood to soil contact throughout the basement floor, ceilings and walls, basement windows, and sealed up all nail holes etc. He literally had to return to the job several times in order to complete the treatment properly. It was a job that the termites needed to be flushed out from the first floor (wood floor) down to the basement. Joe had to drill tiny holes into our floor joists (upstairs) and into our basement slab. He brought all the tools necessary to do the job and made calculations to determine the amount of chemical treatment required. He also had to struggle with the parking on the street due to the sizeable spray equipment needed and the busy downtown traffic and the closure of our street due to the water main repair program by the City at the time. He used two chemicals, one for the wood, one for the soil and he came back to do two spread out sprays for the job. The termites are gone and we know what to watch out for. Thank you, Joe!

Thanks for the kind review. Termites are indeed the most difficult structural pest to exterminate. There are conducive conditions involved which should be addressed in tandem with a plan and control measures. I had to make multiple trips on this particular job to assess the situation and was fortunate indeed to have a client that was systematic and willing to open her home. Thanks again, Joe

    Squirrel Problem

Joe was excellent. We had discovered that we had an animal nesting in our roof above our porch. We made a call to Joe and were surprised and pleased that he would come out to our house on a Sunday (the following day). Joe was prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. We discovered it was a squirrel who luckily had left our roof when Joe arrived. Joe covered the access point where the squirrel was getting in. He did an excellent job and extremely neat job. I have to say, there is no way that squirrely is getting back in. Joe also suggested we remove a couple of branches where he felt the squirrel was probably gaining access to our porch. I would definitely use Joe again and would not hesitate to recommend him! Thanks so much Joe!!

Thanks for the kind review. Not often that squirrels see me coming and just give up and thrown in the towel like that. Thanks again, Joe

    Squirrel removal

I had had persistent squirrel problems (inside walls of our house) which had been going on for months. Joe came over on two visits, spent a long time figuring out what the problem was and then fixing it. That was a few months ago and the problem has not returned. He spent more time and solved the problem for less money than I had spent previously trying to have the problem solved. I would have saved a lot of money and frustration if I had started with Joe in the first place. From now on I will use Snap Pest control for all my pest issues. Thanks, Joe!

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for your review. I know how frustrating it can be to have squirrels in a home and particularly in walls. Pest control is not always an exact science and this jobs challenge involved eliminating the impossible in order to arrive at the possible entry. I had to use a tracking powder to figure out the problem. The previous company did return many times to try to solve this issue in all fairness to them. After examining the re-entry it turns out that they kept looking at various locations when all the while it was related to the original meshed area. Everybody makes mistakes and the issue here was that this tech didn't double check his work and spent a lot of time going into different directions. In the end the mesh was loose enough for the squirrels' to simply squeeze through. I'm glad that it worked out well. Thanks again, Joe

    service

I came home one day after work a month or so ago and found droppings from mice on my counter. I freaked out and started to yell!! I have never had mice and couldn't even think of wanting to cook in my now contaminated kitchen. My husband tried saying that the kitchen was dirty, which I know it is not. I started cleaning out cupboards and found more droppings. My husband went to the store and bought stuff to try and control it. After a week I saw more droppings. I told him, get a professional in, I was tired of this!!!!I I was asking around and I got a referral from a friend for SNAP. I called the number and I was going on and on freaking out on the guy, he was so genuine and reserved and told me not to worry, he would get rid of them for me. He came over and was a very down to earth guy. He came with all sorts of tools and was ready to work. He did a full inspection of the house and showed me pictures of openings where he thought the mice could have entered the house. He laid down bait and sealed off the openings. He was here for a couple of hours. WE HAVE NOT SEEN ANY MICE SINCE!!!! THANK YOU JOE

    Answer from pro:

I thank you for your nice review. I managed to find a few openings which were sealed off. Taking pictures of my work to show clients what was found is important to me so that some closure can be finally be attained. People should see what the problem was and how it was resolved. In fact I routinely review photos of rodent entry daily as practice and even after a thousand jobs still find something new to add to my experience. One should never be complacent when it comes to mice and often times I am double checking and even triple checking a home to ensure I haven't missed something. On occasion I have even resorted to getting a second opinion from a different tech altogether in order to solve a nagging pest issue. All in all I'm just happy I could be of assistance. Joe.

    mouse problem

We feel so lucky to have found Joe! We've had mouse problems in the past and although we always called professionals, the problem recurred a year or two later. We thought this must be "natural" for an old house. When Joe arrived, he did a thorough inspection of the house inside and outside. None of our previous professionals had looked at the exterior of the house and none had been so thorough. Joe found -- and fixed immediately -- two holes in the brick exterior that were large enough for mice to come in. Of course he also thoroughly addressed the inside mouse problem as well, and will be following-up with us in 3 or 4 weeks to make sure the problem is actually solved (also a first for us). We are so impressed with Joe. He is well-informed and well-equipped (he even uses a "scope" to see into crevices inside and outside the house). On top of all that -- he's incredibly nice! We totally recommend SNAP Pest Control. Thanks for everything Joe!

Thanks so much for the great review. I keep seeing this scenario whereby techs out there are not doing exterior inspections. Frankly, every time I hear that exterior inspections are not conduced truly amazes me. It is only logical to establish and close off entry so that the cycle of rodent issues can be resolved. Thanks again for your review, Joe

    Pest Control

Joe at Snap Pest Control is a pleasant guy for an unpleasant problem! We moved onto our first ravine property a year ago and have had our fair share of unwanted critters in and around our home. I happened to call Snap Pest Control soon after we moved in to deal with a mice problem we had. Joe came and took care of it at a very reasonable price- and since then, no more mice in the house. Then over the course of the summer, we had raccoons making a mess of our deck, squirrels chewing away at the roof, then swarms of bees making their nests in the backyard too. Over time, Joe took care of all of these problems with just a few visits- again at a very reasonable cost. You can rely on Joe- if he says he will be there to help you, you can be sure that he will. What a relief to know that we can depend on friendly, professional help to maintain a pest-free home, which enables us to enjoy living on the ravine.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for the review. I must admit that ravine properties do pose some challenges in pest control terms. Being proactive is the key to controlling potential issues before there are problems. Once again thanks for you business

    Raccoon removal

Joe - thank you for all your help. Your communication and customer service was incredible. So happy we hired you to address the raccoon issues at our house. Ver appreciated.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for your review. The challenging aspect of this job involved raccoon proofing the home as well as removing the raccoons ability to even get on the roof. A previous company had installed a 1 way door and simply left the meshed boxes on the dormers. The boxes were an eye sore and took away from the homes charm and esthetic quality. I installed color keyed mesh, removed some vines which were acting like a ladder) and spiked the downspouts on all corners to remove vertical access.
