    Squirrel removal

I can highly recommend Joe of Snap Pest Control. He was prompt, efficient, friendly, went out of his way to ensure that the job was neatly finished off and was very reasonably priced. I will definitely be using him again!

    Answer from pro:

This job required the installation of a 1 way door as well as the removal of 14 1 x 6 deck boards. It was tricky because it was around 30 feet up in the air and the boards were chewed up badly by squirrels and raccoons. I re-installed 14 new pressure treated deck boards and closed off the area with mesh. No more gaps no more pests. Thanks for the business.Joe

    Mice/mouse in attice

Noises in the attic this winter were waking me up at night. Scratching and rustling sounds, and sometimes louder sounds. I called Joe in to take care of it. He inspected all around the inside of the attic (soffits, vents, everything). He found signs of birds nesting but no other signs of animals (droppings, etc.) as well as a softball-sized hole to the outside. We were aware of starlings nesting there over the last few years. Whatever was in the attic this winter could be coming and going through this hole. From the outside, he got up 30' on a ladder on a cold February day and patched the hole with wire mesh and screws (see photos). This spring the starlings were surprised to find they couldn't get back in. They seemed quite put out by the change in circumstances. Anyway back to the main story. I still heard the noises over the next two weeks. Joe came back (no extra charge) and went back in the attic. Above my room he pulled back thick fibreglass insulation bats to reveal a hidden space between the insulation and room ceiling with mouse droppings. Mice/mouse found this space and were using it, as it was protected from the blown cellulose insulation that covers the attic. Joe baited the space and within one or two weeks, the problem was gone. Joe was professional, helpful, nice to talk to and punctual. An excellent price, and effective work. No extra charge for the second visit. He also sent me photos to forward to my landlord.

    Answer from pro:

This was a tricky job and since I found an opening where the birds were that was right above my clients bedroom one would assume it was the reason for the noises. Still, it turns out to be mice under a ton of insulation. I didn't need to do ladder work after all but the birds were dealt with as well. Pest control is not an exact science and in this case it appears to be true. In the end my client resolved two issues. Thanks for you business.Joe

    Squirrel Removal

The squirrels living underneath our third floor roof top balcony deck are finally evicted! This is thanks for Joe Bruno from SNAP for coming over to help squirrel proof our balcony deck. Coming from the services industry, there’s an understanding that client satisfaction and courteous service is very important. Something I found out that lacked in this industry. Not all companies are helpful or are fair with their fees. I found Joe to be friendly, professional and very helpful with coming up with different approaches and solution to my squirrel problem. He was also competitive with his fees. The overall customer experience has been high and refreshing. Plus most importantly…no more squirrels! I would recommend Joe and suggest you call him for your squirrel removal and pest control needs.

    Answer from pro:

Those pesky squirrels were creating a huge mess. I had to mesh off the perimeter of the deck. There were considerations to be made since the area was floating and I needed to consider expansion and contraction of the deck. In the end though the job turned out well. Thanks for everything.Joe

    Bed Bug removal

I found Joe on Home stars and was comforted by the reviews of others. Joe was great. He made solving our problem a priority. He is knowledgeable, patient, thorough and very professional. He answers his phone and e-mail promptly, even though he is very busy. He showed up when he said he would and called when he was going to be 15 mins behind schedule because of traffic (I wouldn't have even considered this late). He explained in detail what needed to be done to get rid of our bed bugs, and did exactly what he said he would do. Joe has come back to our house to follow up and make sure our bed bugs are gone and he has even offered to come out again to proactively treat the new bed I will be buying for my son. Although I hope not to require any pest control assistance in the future, I will call Joe if the need arises.

    Answer from pro:

I take bed bugs really seriously and consider them one of the hardest structural pests to remove. I book a whole day for a bed bug treatment and plan it accordingly.Typical treatments require me to be on my hands and knees with a magnifying glass to look for the bugs and their eggs. The beds are taken apart and furniture turned inside out and upside down in order to find them all. Its a lot of work but has to be done correctly the first time or there will be call backs. Thanks for your business.Joe

Retrieve raccoon babies and close vent

I had to engage Joe Bruno when raccoons ripped open my roof vent and entered my neighbor's attic space with babies in tow. Joe always responds to his phone calls, is patient and respectful and demonstrates time and again that his only interest is to assist homeowners in ridding themselves of these pests. His fee is very reasonable. A true tradesman.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for the review. It was the trickiest raccoon job I've done in a long time. This mother also re-entered the neighbor's attic through the front of the house again after your job was done 2 weeks later. She brought all of her babies and would not leave. My initial client called and with no attic door in his home I had to open a series of holes in his front wall to retrieve the babies. I finally installed some spikes to ensure she never comes back again. Thanks for your business.Joe

    Termite inspection

We had SNAP come to do a termite inspection to alleviate the concerns of a worried prospective home buyer. Joe was polite, professional, clearly an expert at his trade, and an all-around honest and friendly person. For the work done, the price was excellent and he even covered a small hole in one of our soffits with mesh that I brought to his attention after he arrived at our house with no extra charge! I would have no hesitation about using SNAP again or recommending them to anyone!! Thanks again for a great job!

    Answer from pro:

It was interesting in that I had never done any termite work in Streetsville nor ever heard about them there, however; there were time constraints and I needed to know for myself whether or not they were in the area. Glad I help.Joe

    Squirrels in the Attic

Had a problem with an uninvited guest. Called Joe and he came and found the location where our friend (squirrel) has managed to get in. Joe was very good with quickly identifying the location. He went up on the roof when there was some snow on the roof. Joe came back on another day, when it was a bit warmer, to close the entrance and put a one-way trap door. The squirrel was out within a day and we found that it was trying hard to get back in without any luck. We left the trap there for two weeks before Joe came back to remove the trap door and close off everything. Joe even brought asphalt shingles to cover the area well. He took pictures of the affected area before and after the work. He explains the problem and what he is going to do. Finding good people is hard these days and I would recommend Joe to anyone.

    Answer from pro:

The builder left an a gap between the juncture of two peaks which was simply covered up by some misplaced shingles. Typically, nobody would even notice except for some birds and then a squirrel. The area was in a location which was not visible. Not only did the squirrels set up shop but the potential for some water damage was also high because of the gaps location within a runoff zone. This job had me up on a high roof in the cold and snow and luckily ended up with a sealed roof which was an added benefit to the homeowner. Thanks for everything.Joe

    Pest Control Company

My neighbour and I had a serious mouse infestation for almost a year. We had 2 private companies come in prior to hiring SNAP Pest Control. The other companies charged more or less the same fee, but all they did was lay bait stations. There was no improvement whatsoever in the mouse situation. Then Joe Bruno showed up from SNAP, and spent several hours doing a thorough examination of my and my neighbour's houses; checking for possible openings where mice were coming in. He found several entrances, and showed us using tiny cameras how the mice were getting in. He patched up all the openings himself. He also laid a ton of very strong bait, more and more intense than either of the previous companies. After one visit from Joe, the mice were gone and have never come back. I would recommend this company to anyone.

    Answer from pro:

Having visited both properties I could clearly see that the mice were running out of control. Droppings and the smell of mice were everywhere. It was obvious there were openings it just became a question of how many and where. I had never seen so many bait stations ( mice did not find them ) before and it was obvious that the previous 2 companies approach was to simply bait and run. In the end it became a foundation issue which required some parging cement and 3 hours of work. I went to the homes once, sealed up the homes for good and laid out bait where I knew the mice would find them. Simply did my job, that's all. Thanks for the business Heather

Raccoons in crawl space wreaking havoc

With a baby on the way, we were getting very concerned about the raccoons living in the crawl space under an extension in the rear of our house. We were procrastinating dealing with this for about 6 months because the problem was complex and not really pressing since we don't use our backyard very much. But we noticed that the little buggers had made quite a nest for themselves by destroying the insulation to the vent that warmed the extension. Not only were we not getting heat to the room but we were spewing hot air into their nest. Smart little critters. Our HVAC repairman wouldn't fix the vent until the raccoon had been dealt with. We called a few companies and most of them couldn't promise to prevent the raccoons from returning after they removed them because of the specific issues going on with the plastic siding of the crawl space and other factors. ENTER JOE BRUNO. Joe at Snap Pest Control is much more than just a wildlife removal service. He is also a smart handyman who knows how to solve problems. Joe visited once for free to review the situation and together we strategized a permanent solution. He is a very nice guy, pleasant to deal with, and friendly. Creative. Via email we discussed how to deal with the problem and once we decided on a course of action he came back a few days later with all materials needed and handled the situation. He came on a cold day in the middle of the winter and worked for a few hours, all as promised. In the end he provided a very effective solution; the raccoons are gone and I don't believe there is any way for them to return. It is now 2 weeks later and today I entered the crawl space with my heating repairman and saw from the inside that the raccoons have not returned. Problem solved. Joe is a good guy. Trustworthy and smart. We would definitely recommend him to anyone who has raccoons in a tricky, complicated spot of their home. Thanks Joe! R*

    Answer from pro:

Sometimes you just gotta get down and dirty and solve a pest issue for once and for all. With a baby on the way my client needed a solution and fast. With some quick carpentry work and dremmel cutting tool the job was completed in no time. Glad I could be of help.Joe

    Mouse in house

We called up Snap Pest Control because we'd seen a couple mice (or perhaps the same one) and wanted to nip a potential problem in the bud. Joe came out right away, showed us potential entry points, and blocked them up with wiring. He also laid down these black boxes containing poison, although on future inspection the mouse apparently weren't interested in them, and hadn't taken the bait. Joe came back to our house a couple weeks later, helped us block off another entry point we had identified (under the dishwasher...those mice are sneaky!), and we haven't seen a mouse since! Fingers crossed. We would certainly recommend Joe for his thoroughness and professionalism.

    Answer from pro:

Every job is different and may require a call back. Sometimes the mice re route themselves and miss the stations altogether. In this case we had to remove the dishwasher to locate a hole and seal it for good. Note, the entry points outside were already sealed. It can take a few weeks for the mice to find the proper baits, that's all. Thanks Byron.Joe
