    Main Floor home renovation

    Todd's workmanship was outstanding and he completed the job exactly when he said and for the exact amount of his quote. I wish all my renovation contractors were like Todd. I have recommended him to my friends.

    Hardwood flooring on 2 floors and a flight of stairs

    I have an older home that I'm renovating and had numerous un-even floors which I wanted to install hardwood on. After various consultations Todd offered the most sensible solutions at a very fair price. He took what I thought was an impossible job and after some very hard work, has made my home look brand new. The floors are show-room quality. He properly prepped the old flooring so that after the install there are no squeaks or cracks and his job looks absolutely fantastic. He wants to do things right the first time, he's neat and tidy, very reasonable and wants to please the customer. I have high expectations and Todd did a great job meeting them.

    Tigerwood Hardwood Install in New Custom Home

    Todd and his company Masterpiece Hardwood Flooring Ltd. provide my luxury custom home building company with the highest level of service and installation in the Calgary marketplace. Todd is very friendly, dependable and highly detail orientated. I have a strict policy of hiring only the highest quality trades and Masterpiece is exceptional. I will continually choose to select Masterpiece as my hardwood installer. If you truly want the best the installer available in Calgary then contact Masterpiece. Prior to hiring any particular trade I interview a minimum of eight companies and from the initial meeting it was very clear that with Masterpiece's extensive marketplace install experience they would be the company of choice and then this was confirmed after Masterpiece installed over 2,000 square feet of premium Tigerwood in my luxury custom show home. Masterpiece definitely will impress you.

    Did hardwood flooring

    Did harwood flooring in all upstairs in all 5 bedrooms and hallway and split staircase. He receommended where to buy material and did all of the install. He was on time and on budget and did a great job of preparing parts for the stairs for tile later. I would highly recommend him.

    Engineered Floor Install

    Laurie in Calgary When I decided to install an Engineered floor in my Condo I quickly decided that it was not a project I wanted to do myself. I enquired about having the floors installed professionally where I purchased my flooring and they immediately recommended Todd. I contacted him for an estimate to rip my carpets and install my flooring. He contacted me promptly and I was very pleased with the quote I was given. He came on time on my install date and did a remarkable job. Todd was incrediably friendly, polite, professional and very knowledgeable about the flooring he was installing. The final price was exactly as quoted. I would highly recommend Todd for any Flooring install. Thank you, Todd. I love my new floors.

    Hardwood installation on main floor of house

    We are extremely happy with the job Todd did for us in December 2010. He was very professional and provided great service from the initial consultation to the completion of the project. The job was completed very quickly, we had no "surprises" and we have the highest regard for the quality of his work. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking at installing hard wood floors.

    Install new hardwood floor during major reno

    Knowing how critical that timing was for us as we completed a major full house tear-out reno of our house, Todd bent over backwards to keep us on schedule including cooperating with other contractors to make it work(our fault that several jobs had to happen at once). And the floor install was excellent, tight and fully to what we had asked to be done. Todd is a head down, headphones on, hard to work early and stays till the job is done (a real bonus in the sub-contracting world we found ourselves in). When the schedule got tight due to us delaying the start date (we supplied the hardwood and it arrived late), he brought in help to get us back on schedule. Very accurate transitions, bullnose and incorporation of built in-vents. And for a great price. We now sit back and admire the beautiful floors in a beautiful home. We have no reservations in recommending highly Todd and his company Masterpiece for hardwood installs. Thanks Todd for doing a great job and being to helpful in getting us there! Brian and Joanne

    Hardwood installation for upstairs level (approx. 1000sq.ft)

    Todd and his crew were recommended to me which made me confident they were going to do a good job. However, throughout the whole process they completely exceeded my expectations. If I called and left a message, my phone call was returned right away, if I had a question, they knew the answer, and when they said they were going to be at my house, they were there on time! The quality of the work they provide is outstanding...in our linen closet we have a riser & step (stair) in which they had to make modifications to allow for the door to open and close; it looks great! I was surprised how much care and attention to detail they took to make it look perfect, especially just being in the closet where no one really sees! I was a little nervous about them cutting the wood in my house as I have had another floor installed in my previous home, which was a complete nightmare to clean up, but I was pleasantly surprised with these guys! They confined the cutting to our master bedroom and they cleaned up everything! They even took the time to put all our doors back on to ensure proper working order. The entire floor looks great and we are extremely happy with it. Todd was fast, professional, knowledgeable, and we will definitely be hiring him back to do some work on our main floor hardwood. That is something we really strive to be for our customers as we know how stressful a home renovations can be. It's awesome that you noticed the little detail in the linen closet, it was definitely a challenging spot to work in but I think it turned out good. Sometimes due to weather or location we need to cut indoors. The saws are set up with a vacuum and we use wax paper under the hardwood to cut down on the dust. It's helpful to know you didn't experience any trouble with dust from the install. Enjoy your new hardwood floor and I look forward to working with you again! Todd

    Hardwood floor repair.

    I was looking for a hardwood repair company to fix my damaged hardwood floor. After contacting Todd Cannings of Masterpiece Hardwood he came to assess the damage. He told me how he was going to repair the damaged boards and presented an estimate. I already had enough pieces of hardwood left over so he was able to do the repair immediately. It was a challenging job because we wanted the minimum amount of saw dust flying around the room. Todd was courteous, knowledgeable and very professional in completing the work. He did an excellent job and left our home spotless. We would recommend Todd to anyone.

    Thanks for the review Reg! The great thing about pre-finished hardwood is that it's much easier to fix a small area or a few damaged boards as opposed to a sand and finished floor. It's a good idea to keep some extra wood from your flooring for small repairs in the future. I hope the repair helped the sale of your home and you are enjoying your new place! Todd

    Installed hard wood floor on main level.

    Todd did an excellent job. He was fast and thourough. Excellent attention to detail. Cleaned up after the job. The wood floor cleaning mop present at the end was an unexpected surprise. We suggested to him that he cover the furniture and electronics with plastic for future jobs and that he cover heat vent openings to prevent wood chips falling into the openings.

    Hi Larry and Donna, thanks for the response to the work done in your home. I am sorry to hear the dust was a bit of a problem for you. It was a product of the K3 ripout under the linoleum and is an unfortunate aspect of home renovations. It is extremely hard to have no dust when removing this flooring as it has a fine particle. I did cover your cabinets and island and tried to block off doorways to minimize the dust. For liability reasons I prefer that homeowners cover off their furniture and electronics but I apologize for not communicating this to you earlier. We are in the process of compiling an expectations sheet for our customers so they know of this ahead of time. I hope you are happy with your flooring installation and thank you for the constructive feedback. Todd
