    Dryer repair

I am beyond outraged with how this company and its employees service their customers. The parts ordered came after 1 month which is fine as they've indicated its in back order. Our dryer was working except that the timer is not advancing. The technician recommended to replace the timer which we paid at $621. The same technician came and replaced a new timer. He tested it at 5 minutes and he said it takes a while for the timer to advance. I requested him to wait to ensure it will advance but he declined and if it's not working, to call back their office as he has other services to attend to. We noticed that the dryer hasn't stop for half an hour and called their office. They've said that the new timer does not have a warranty and we will have to pay $299 for a technician to diagnose the issue. By all means, please do not use this company. Once they get your money, you're nothing.

    Waste of $80 service call

Asked for a 'service call' to diagnose problem with microwave oven and provide estimate to repair. Cost for this was $80. Diagnosis was mother board electrical problem, and cost to repair a whopping $280 plus parts, another several hundred (which seems to be the norm with this company). I bought a new microwave for $250 and got it installed for $135 by a different company.

Lack of transparency on repair costs

After our dryer stopped working, we called the Appliance Repair Team to take a look. We were told the cost for the repair was $450, but were given a total bill of $850 upon completion - the equivalent cost of a new machine. Turns out they failed to provide a total the cost that reflects both materials and labour. Wholly unimpressed with customer service thereafter.

    Dryer repair

Dryer dial stopped working. They came and told me it needed a whole new control panel, that the part was in stock and that they’d be back in a couple of days to do the repair. They didn’t show. After calling customer service numerous times they finally told me the part had to be ordered and that there was no delivery date. After almost a month, I checked with the manufacturer and was informed that this part had been discontinued and that not even they could get it. Spoke again to their customer service and got nowhere. I was told at least three times that a manager would call me…no calls. DO NOT trust this company. They are untruthful and unreliable.

    Stay away

Terrible company. I was told it would be $80 service fee, plus parts. I was told I would be told clearly what the issue was before committing. None of this was true. The service person was not friendly at all, zero communication, had my dishwasher door totally opened up, and he was in the process of fixing the issue already, before telling me "Oh btw this part needs replacing. It costs $220". I fell for it. I was also juggling my kids in remote learning, and my toddler. I agreed to the part (which later I found online for sale for $20) and THEN once the person billed me, the service fee was $150!!!! Plus taxes. Close to $500. For 15 minutes of work. I don't know how these people are still able to operate. Don't fall for it! Especially busy moms at home!!! We are all tired and busy and juggling so much, with being locked down for so long. These lockdowns have us exhausted. This company is taking advantage. It's disgusting.

    Washer and fridge

Absolutely awful! This company is the worse. They charged me $280 to look at my fridge and $180 to look at my washer in the same house! Neither one was fixed. They did nothing! Stay far away from this company. When I called to speak to the manager they just told me the company is owned by investors and nothing would be done. Stay far away from them.

    Aweful Service, Intent to Mislead

Totally misleading behaviour, no real work done. A bit of cleaning. Reset a motor. Said the dryer was working. So, turns out the dryer is not working. Too bad for me. Fees charged for work done, outrageous. Customer service, integrity, standing behind their work, does not exist.

    washer repair

Consistently misleading; taking advance payments with no services provided; avoid engaging them. We were waiting for the replacement component for 8 weeks and still don't have it. Wee got it within 2 weeks, and asked them to install. They never returned a call after charging for the future services.

    Misleading be careful

Was told the rate was $80 to have a tech come out and evaluate the problem for my dishwasher. Once here it changed to $80 + $260 + parts.. Shameful never again.

    Refrigeration Repair

My refrigerator was no longer cooling, so I searched the internet under appliance repair and came across The A Team Appliance Repair. I called this so called repair company to schedule a service call; I was told I would be charged $80 for the service call to diagnose the problem, which was fine; however this is where the misleading begins. During the diagnostic, which took him 10 min, he proceeded to tell me I would need to pay $280 to further investigate & fix the problem. After 35 min of tinkering behind the fridge, which by the way is not where the issues was, it was in the freezer, he then said I needed a new Control Board and that part would be $720.32 + tax, but he would not be able to get the part for 2 weeks. I declined to proceed as I was very suspicious at this point, and unfortunately I had already signed off on the agreement to pay the $280 + tax for a total of $316.40, even though he essentially did nothing for that amount, and did not seem to know what he was doing (or did he?). He then said that if I changed my mind, he could get that part in a week at the latest, yet not 5 min before said it would be 2 weeks. I assume since I had declined to order the part to be installed he was attempting to change my mind, hence the time frame change. I then proceeded to get a second opinion which yielded a much different result for significantly less The part that I did require was a "Thermostat Defrost", for $67.70 (inc tax) which was avail same day. Out of curiosity, I inquired as to the cost of a Control Board, which the legit company quoted $218.00; that tells you right there how much The A Team Appliance Repair company mark up their parts to their customers. Of course I was extremely frustrated by the fact that I just paid $316.00 for literally NOTHING. He was not even diagnosing in the right area. He did not even open the control board to see if it was malfunctioning, he was simply making it up as he want along. I wish I would have thought to check the 'BBB site', and or 'Homestars' to see if there were any reviews; what I went through seems to be a consistent theme as I read through the other complaints. I was shocked. Unfortunately, many were mislead out of much more money than I was, simply because they trusted that their technician would fix their problem, but did not, and sadly they spent a lot of money on parts that they did not require given the appliance they supposedly fixed still did not work. When you call their customer service, it is evident that they have no interest in helping you, and when you ask to speak to the owner of the company, he of course is always in a meeting; and when they say you will get a call back from a supervisor, the call does not come. They will only accept cash or debit, which makes it much harder to recoup any kind of refund, which I suspect is the reason why they don't accept credit cards. I must say, I did think it was odd when they did not accept credit cards. It is my belief that this company "The A Team Appliance Repair" knowingly mislead their customers into paying for nonsensical diagnostics, and unnecessary parts that are significantly marked up, all without really addressing the actual issue, which leaves you with the malfunction you started with, and paying for another company to actually repair your appliance. Their business practices are egregious to the customer and they should be investigated and have their license to do business revoked. I have absolutely no problem paying for a service, but what I do have a problem with is a company that is knowingly committing fraud.
