We had our backyard parking pad done through Mike and his team and the end result is really fantastic. We were worried about the water draining away from the shed and away from our house and after a big down pour we watched the water pool off and away nicely. Mike and his team were very accommodating, super polite and always cleaned up after themselves. The mutual driveway we share with the neighbours started to crack and look bad for our neighghbours side and they happily repaired and fixed it for us.

Mike came in to cement our mutual driveway as it was an attractive mixture of cement, gravel and grass. Mike and his team were recruited by our neighbour for the job. Mike was very patient with our questions and concerns and did a wonderful job balancing our needs with those of our neighbour. At the end of the day we were very pleased with the quality and calibur of the job. It was exactly as we wanted and looks great! The water is diverted beautifully away from the house and down to the street, and yet our 2 children can easily run and ride their bikes on it. Mike's team was lovely to have around and I was pleasantly surprised when they left our place each day as though they'd never been. Everything put away, swept, and tidy. Considering the extent of the job this was no easy task. We've had contractors in whose consideration was not nearly at the same level so we've come to expect less. Mike even spent time sharing his expertise on waterproofing, even though it wasn't the task at hand, giving us peace of mind on the work we'd had done by another contractor the previous year. The only reason the rating isn't a '10' is that looking back we would have preferred to discuss options for the edge of the driveway so that it could potentially be matched with the neighbour's side. At the time we likely just didn't know the questions to ask. But with all that said, I would not hesitate to recommend Mike and his crew and would definitely use him again....though by the looks of our new driveway I don't expect we'll need too : )

Mike and his team are highly professional contractors. His price is market value but his attention to precision and detail, makes him a bargain. I am a tradesman and rarely do I meet others trades with such pride of workmanship and integrity. I asked for bids from other contractors on Homstars and they either with higher scores but they either did not return my call or waited a week to call back. Mike called back on the same day, gave a quote from drawings the next day and came to see the job the following day. Although he did more work than was specified in the quote he kept the same price. The final product far exceeded my expectations. His team, Michael and Darryl were concientious, friendly, highly knowlegable and always willing to explain what they were doing. They did all the preparations and worked harder than I see most trades work and toiled nonstop through the hottest days this summer. They were very well mannered, extremely neat and careful not to damage anything with their heavy machinery. They love their job and are always trying to do a better job than Mike would do. Mike did all the concrete work with help from Michael and Darryl. Their work was perfect, completed on time and on price. I wish I had more work around the house just to have them back. Not only do I strongly recommend M. Scott but I suggest you don't consider any project without talking with him first

Mike and his team have done several construction and renovation projects for me including fencing, siding, roofing and construction of a tea house. Mike is great to work with, has very good and inovative ideas and is always open to suggestions. He is reliable, dependable and always courteous....a pleasure to work with!

My cold room, which is underneath the front porch of my house, had been very humid and damp over the winter. I thought there might be a leak but couldn't find anything. I had a couple of concrete contractors come by and they suggested thousands of dollars of work to waterproof the room, even though there were no visible leaks. I also called Mike and he came round and suggested that the problem was a lack of ventilation. In addition to the fact that there were no leaks to be seen, he also pointed out that it had recently been very dry - we'd had several weeks without rain. I hired Mike to drill a ventilation hole, and he had it done, with a screen and vent cover on the outside. Since then, the humidity in the room has remained in the low 60% area. Mike saved me a lot of money, the stress of having my front yard dug up and my garden destroyed, and did good work. I'd recommend his services to anyone looking for an honest contractor.

We had a walkway to be replaced by a ramp and degrading bricks on our front steps. The two jobs were small but necessary and Michael was accommodating with his knowledge, patience and time. We received other quotes and Michael's was within the moderate price range. But, what tipped our decision was all a matter of timing-- he was willing to start within the week. The crew was courteous and prompt from day one. Matching bricks can be a challenge and we had very low expectations, all that mattered was the repair. The replacements Michael found are better then we imagined, both in colour and texture. When the job was done even our neighbours gave a thumps up at the result and cleaniness of the job site.We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company. This was a job well done and a dangerous walkway is gone for good. Thanks guys!

We hired Mike to come out and build us a new cement path along side our driveway and leading to an existing path. His price was less than we expected and his crew worked hard and kept the area clean afterwards. Terrific work!

I have had two projects completed by Mike and they were both done professionally, on time, on budget and look great. I love the look of concrete as there is no grass growing between the paving stones. I own a number of properties and next time I will go bac to mike.

I've had several quotes for a concrete driveway. The problem is finding the right contractor that knows his trade,does the work himself,and doesn't contract the work out. I know what i want, have a very good idea as to what has to be done and i want it in writing. Mike Scott from Home Improvements explained everything as what would be happing in steps,as well as giving me some address of other clients to look at. He addressed all my concerns. Mike and his team did everything i expected a professional concrete contractor would do and more. Recommendation, High. Mike and his dedicated team gets a 10 plus from me. Pride in workmanship shows......

Mike is professional, quick and accountable. He's a pleasure to work with. He came highly recommended to me by a colleague.
