    Open Concept Living

    We hired Pezhman and Arvin, to provide structural engineering services in creating a open concept Living room/ Kitchen in our existing home, as renos typically go there are always surprises, and I can't say enough about how patient and educational the process was with Rigid Frame. Both Arvin and Pezhman, worked with our designer to achieve our original plan, as some of the bearing points for the structural work had to be changed due to what was behind the walls once we began demo. I was extremely impressed with their ability to adapt to situations and their solution driven attitude. They are an asset to any renovation.

    Permit-Ready Drawings

    Previous owner did some renovations on the home. All of the work was done without permits and did not consider the appropriate loads and resulting force distribution caused by removing interior walls. We hired Arvin and Pezhman to provide permit-ready drawings to submit to the city and to shape our overall scope for the renovations. Arvin and Pezhman came for a site visit, and took all the necessary measurements in order to create their drawings. We discussed possible solutions and decided on what would be an appropriate design. We settled on two single span beams (one flush mounted on the main floor and one dropped in the basement) to keep the open concept aesthetic. It was deemed to have comparable costs as to having multiple beams and footings added in the basement. I'm not the easiest customer, as I am particular, and like things done properly. I had to change the scope of drawings part way through. Arvin, Pezhman and Emiline were very professional and accommodating to most of my requests. Whenever I had a question they would answer thoroughly and when I didn't understand something we would make sure that the issue was clarified. When the time came to submit the drawings for permits, the city official had some questions with some particular aspects of the design. Arvin was able to discuss the issue with the official and together we decided on an acceptable path forward to address the city's concern. When all is said and done, Arvin and Pehzman listened to my concerns, came up with appropriate solutions and were very professional. You can trust them to be thorough and provide excellent quality work.

    Basement Underpinning Drawings

    We were referred to Arvin and his team by our underpinning contractor, to get engineering reports and drawings for our basement project. Arvin, Pezhman and Emeline were a pleasure to work with throughout the process. They answered all our questions and made sure we got what we needed to complete our project providing us with draft drawings for review before the final drawings were stamped. They also helped us with the permitting process with the city ensuring all the necessary forms were submitted properly. My wife and I wouldn't think twice about recommending them.

    Excellent

    Excellent! Very professional, reliable and trustworthy team. They did drawings for our basement entrance and also they work for putting in the entrance. It was very handy that they did the drawings and then could also do the work. Excellent! Would definitely recommend them:)

    Architectural Drawings

    My wife and I wanted to install plumbing for a 3-piece washroom and laundry in our basement. Pezhman responded very quickly and came to our home to take measurements and prepared the drawings the following week. He raised several considerations that made a lot of sense and we ended up moving the laundry for a better flow in the basement. His team was extremely patient and helpful with us during the permit application process and took care of all the details for us. They did an excellent job and I would definitely recommend them for any architectural drawings for your project.

    Construction of walkout

    This is the first time I worked with Rigid Frames and I was extremely impressed with their professionalism, quality materials, service delivery and keeping me updated on each step of the project. They also brought unforeseen items to my attention (e.g., a rotted portion of a beam) and carefully explained a recommended option to replace it. The staff they have in their team were just as wonderful to deal with and did an outstanding job with the walkout. In the end I am extremely happy with their work and would not hesitate to recommend them or use their services in future.

    Interior Remodeling

    We hired Rigid Frame to remodel our kitchen that required permit and expertise of a structural engineer and an architect. Pezhman with his expertise in both areas helped us to design and remodel the kitchen completely (satisfying all the inspections with no issues). Pezhman and his team are very knowledgeable and extremely patient in explaining the detail of the work. He communicates well and deals with problems methodically. He gave us very valuable technical information on various stages of the project. His estimates are reasonable and honest. I would recommend him and his company with no hesitation.

    Multiple renovation projects

    Rigid Frame has been my go to structural engineers for 15 years. They are fast, reliable and helpful. They have helped me with small renovation projects to large, complicated, multi-consultant projects. As well as structural, their network of electrical, mechanical, HVAC engineers makes them a one-stop shop for all my building permits. Whether it’s a residential project or a commercial project they are professional, accurate and a pleasure to work with.

    Permit drawings for two storey new build custom house with secondary unit:

    We bought a house last summer and would like to build a custom house and add a secondary unit in the basement. We hired the team of Rigid Frame because of their excellent reputation in homestars and the entire team did a great work for us. All the communications are very seamless and they presented us with exceptional floor plans and exterior designs. They did many 3D renderings so we can visualized the design. They walk us in every step of the permit process with the city. Arvin and Pezhman are very professional and are both educated in the field of architectural and engineering. They prepared everything that are need to get the permit to the city. We will hire Rigid Frame for the construction stage because we want our dream house to be built and managed by professional engineers.     Design and Construction of Rear Addition

    We own a 100 year old small home with an existing rear kitchen addition that had significant structural problems. We were not sure what we needed or where to start so we had a few companies come out and give us an idea of what our options were. From the first time we met with Pezhman and Arvin I had a sense that they were honest, genuine professionals who knew there stuff and after working with them for almost 10 months I still feel that way today. They were willing to talk to us about different options within our budget and took the time to go through all the details so we had a complete picture of what we were dealing with. In the end we decided to tear down the existing addition and rebuild it with a new bedroom above. The crew at rigid frame were great to deal with during the preparation of our permit drawings. They were responsive, willing to incorporate changes, and in the end we had a building permit issued very quickly. Being an engineer myself I know there are many different ways for projects like this to go wrong, but to date this company has been professional, accommodating and has given us realistic expectations at each step of the process.
