    Service Call & Annual Maintenance

    We had been experiencing issues with our humidifier leaking. Our previous service providers had proposed a very expensive and intrusive solution to fix the problem. Brian from Summer & Smith was able to provide an alternative solution to our problem for a MUCH lower cost. He assessed the issue and managed the process. He was very confident with what he was proposing and was successful with the repair. He checked our entire system and made changes and suggestions to increase the efficiency of our system. I feel that I am in good hands with Summer & Smith.

    Heating/cooling/hot water

    We have been thrilled with all three jobs Brian has done for us! He replaced our AC, serviced our furnace, and most recently fixed the sensor on our hot water tank. Brian always completed jobs on time, in budget, and is incredibly trustworthy! When recommending any fix, his suggestions balance efficiency and cost. He also always explains thoroughly what he's doing and why. I'm so glad we've found this company!

    Hvac retrofit

    Working with John for the quota and minor design changes was great as he's done lots of retrofits and knows what works and doesn't. Having Ryan and his crew doing the install, couldn't have asked for a better crew. The guys really cared about their work and the final product. Definitely recommend for new install or a retrofit.

    1) Gas furnace repair, 2) Gas hot water tank repair

    This is the second excellent major repair experience we've had with Summers & Smith. Nine years years ago we were impressed that the gal on the switchboard knew that the heat exchanger on our fourteen year old gas furnace still had a year left on its warranty. $300 for labour back then was a great savings in comparison to $2,700 for a whole new furnace which our previous service company insisted was required. Most recently, S&S's very talented Scott Walker provided knowledgeable, very competent, speedy and friendly service to replace a defective thermocouple in our gas hot water tank. We have no hesitation at all in recommending Summers and Smith to other homeowners.

    Not Recommended. Bad Experience

    We purchased a house in June 2015 that had a boiler system installed by Summers and Smith in 2010. We had some construction work on the house done after we moved in and they needed to move radiators as a result. The system shut down in January 2016 on one of the coldest days of the year. Summer and Smith came in to look at the issue. The Technician Mike G. preceded to tell us how the system had not been installed properly and had to be "completely re-piped" to fix the issue. He also 'tagged' us with a very minor deficiency so we couldn't start our system again. This did not sound right to me, as it was only installed 5 years ago and it had been his company that installed it! He wanted to charge us over $1500 to do this "repair". I decided to get a second opinion from another company. They sent a master technician within two hours of my call. He said the system was fine and all we had to do was bleed the rads properly to fix the problem. After our contractor did this, as well as put the 2 ft plastic pipe that was the "deficiency" and the system worked fine. All it cost us was the visit from the other company. Well worth the money. From our perspective, Summers and Smith were going to make us pay over $1500 to fix a problem on a system they installed in the first place, and a repair that didn't even need to be done. We felt totally taken by this company.

    Service and Installation

    After years of trying to find the right heating and air conditioner provider-who offers knowledgeable, punctual and overall courteous customer service- I finally found Summers and Smith. I've had large corporate companies in- the ones who you have to push 10 buttons on the phone to speak to a real employee-along with other local companies, and no one could fix my furnace issue. Summers and Smith resolved the problem instantly. Ever since then - which was 8 years ago- I still use them today for annual services on my furnace, air conditioner and fireplace. They truly are a genuine company, with genuine service. I trust no other.

    furnace and air conditioning

    Excellent service from sales all the way to installation, all staff are amazingly polite and helpful. A wonderful thing in this day and age where all too often customers are treated terribly. Great job all round, thanks keep up the good work.

    Annual inspection, cleaning and service of furnaces

    Summers and Smith inspect, clean and service our furnace each year. They are reliable and efficient. They arrive when scheduled, work without creating a mess and finish in a timely manner.

    New Furnace and AC

    S&S had been our service contractor for furnace and AC for several years and we were unexpectedly faced with the need to replace the furnace. We were presented with a great bundled offer and the installation team was outstanding!! We were nervous about having the ceiling of our finished basement opened for piping. The installers were careful, clean and precise in everything - they even noticed and replaced some piping related to the water heater that was not up to code (this is a rental unit not serviced by them). It is incredibly RARE to find this high level of customer service and attention to detail. Highly, highly recommend this company!!

    Heating and Air Conditioning

    Summers and Smith have been our Heating and Cooling experts for over 6 years. The company is very punctual, professional and thorough. They installed our air conditioner many years ago and have been servicing our home since then. It is apparent that they have impeccable training; all the service people that have come into my home have always been courteous, friendly and knowledgable, and they always respect my home - they wear booties to cover their shoes! The work has never been a problem, and they have kept our units (furnace,air & humidifer) running well over the years. Michael is a gentleman, upstanding and honest and I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone requiring installation or maintenance.
