    Moving Day

    I searched for a moving company and finally settled on Metropolitan Movers after speaking with them on the phone. The reason I chose them was because of the help I received and excellent customer service. They were very polite and provided helpful information to me as I got ready for my move. I get very stressed when moving, but on moving day, the staff were courteous and professional as they put up with my over cautious behavior about my stuff. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and I will certainly be using them again myself in the future if I need to.

    Move Quebec to Ontario

    Worst moving company ever. They a moving brokers. They take your contract warm you spout movers and then farm your move out to 2 or 3 companies you know nothing about until it is a day or so before your move. That's your first chance to get reviews on them. They told me I had beautiful furniture- I did - they proceeded to scratch and scrape every piece of wood furniture I have and the words this side up meant nothing to them as all boxes were clearly just tossed crushed and contents spilled inside. DO NOT BOOK WITH METROPOLITAN MOVERS

    moving

    I contracted with Metropolitan Movers [MM] but they sent another company 2 days early [and with only 1 day's notice] claiming their fleet was called in for inspection on the day of our move. About 20 items were damaged, for well over $1000 and I have photos showing the damage and demonstrating some general carelessness [wooden mirror packed without bubble wrap and put in a box with many other items; handlebars on 3 bikes turned for packing but never straightened at destination; hole right through the bubble wrap and into our leather Lazyboy; bookshelf leg broken and top knocked right out of the joint] . MM said that I needed to try to settle with the other mover but they only offered $150. I then went back to MM but they said that they would not offer me anything, even though their website clearly states "free moving insurance up to $50,000". What I wanted, as stated in my emails, was for them to send a wood expert to fix the damages to the wood and also someone to try to fix the bad scratches they put in a leather Lazyboy; I doubt that it can be repaired for less than the cost of a new Lazyboy about $1000 as it would need new leather on both sides and it would be very hard to get the leather to match the rest of the leather. I also, particularly given the other mover and MM's response, am very skeptical of their reported weight of my load at 9680 pounds as I had sent down with a friend a 17'x7'x6' trailer fully loaded with all the heavy stuff that 2 people could get in probably 3000-4000 pounds. Our stuff did have to be stored for 17 days so I suspect the damage occurred in the warehouse when no one was looking. They never called me with the weight [MM did have my email and I only found out the day before delivery when I called to make sure everything was a go: can 2 seniors with no kids who have de cluttered a lot really move 9680 pounds plus the 3000-4000 pounds in the trailer: I really doubt it but, of course, I couldn't do anything and if I didn't pay the $10,484 balance, they were not going to deliver our things]. It has been incredibly frustrating to look at our damaged stuff for 3 weeks, only to get their final offer of $150. What about MM's guarantee: apparently, it doesn't apply in my case! MM thinks they can just wash their hands of the whole affair even though my contract was with them and they consider the other mover "a partner".

    Move 2 bed condo

    Booked for 9:00 am start time. Had two confirmation calls from the company reps as well as two confirmation emails. No one arrived by 09:15 so made a call. Was advised the truck will be there by 10:00 - due to a scheduling window to allow for traffic. It is nowhere in small print and was never mentioned during booking and confirmation calls. At 09:40 received a call from the driver- they will be late. When asked how long- said at least half- hour and he stressed "at least". I will not be recommending to anyone on a schedule or otherwise- moves are stressful enough to without this additional cause for anxiety. As well- when I booked, I was asked about the volume and the type of things to move. I was truthful as I wanted an accurate quote. I was given a timeline of 3-4 hrs. I had repeated this exact information during the first confirmation calls from another rep. This time, the quote went up to 5-6 hrs! For same amount of things- too late for me to cancel but raises red flags for integrity of this company.

    Moving from Toronto to Edmonton

    Moved recently. Had to move all my belongings and furnitures to my grandma's before leaving Toronto coming to Edmonton. They were early and on time, professional and extremely friendly. No scratches on the furniture and no damages whatsoever. Everything was packed well during the move which made the process quite clean and smooth. Compared to my last moving company, I would most certainly use them again.

    Moving Day

    Moving team was respectful, on time and very well organised. No damage to my large things. I'd hire them again. My mom is moving next month, so we hired them for her.

    Moving

    I was really worried about the move and thought I needed to shop around for movers so I did and ended up choosing to go with Metropolitan Movers. I was very pleased and surprised at how easy it was to get it all done. They did a great job!

    Moving!

    I've read both absolutely amazing and horrible reviews on this site, but I'm here to share my experience and to even things out. These movers did an absolutely amazing job! Everything was moved in a jiffy and nothing was damaged or broken (my worst fear). Not only was the move completely smooth, the folks at Metropolitan Movers are super courteous. I feel that even though excellent service should be enough, a smile always put the service a step further. They are really first class movers, and I give them my highest recommendation! Sometimes reading those negative reviews will give you a bad impression, but the number of 10 star positive experiences definitely outnumber those bad ones! I'd definitely recommend the folks at Metropolitan Movers to anyone who ever needs a move. The price was also exceedingly fair and well worth the value.

    Moving Home

    Me and my wife moved house a few weeks back, We had to rent some movers because all my friends were tied up and we just didn't have the man power to do it ourselves. We found Metropolitan Movers through an ad on facebook of all places and so we checked them out. Much to our surprise they offered cheap services and had excellent reviews from previous customers. When it came to the work at hand they got down to business and were completely professional about it. They had a joke or 2 with us but in all seriousness we were very impressed with the work they did. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone who want to find someone to help you move. We had an incredible and highly stress relieving experience.

    Moving for school

    I was moving for college and i wanted my own furniture from my room moved to my dorm so i can feel at "home", at least sp i won't be homesick. so i decided to rent movers so all stuff can be moved all at once. service was fast and professional. they are friendly and carried my stuff with care at all times and sometimes i help too. but everything went well. i recommend this service since and i will be getting them again when i move back as my experience was great with no problem with them.
