    Service Humidifier and Furnace

Chris B service engineer is highly professional. He thoroughly checked the items listed above and also the water heater. He is patient and cool and discovered that the problem relates to plumbing depart. He phoned his Company to depute a guy to check the fault. His feedback and his diagnostic skills proved right when the plumber visited our place. The problem is being attended to now after our suffering for some time. Thanks Chris.

    Furnace and Air Conditioner Installation

July 2017 - Sales rep was good and helpful. Went with Reliance as they were a large and reputable firm (and certainly not even close to the cheapest). Installers were sloppy, left debris and some of their supplies behind. Although my home needs some work, where I had done the work, they left gouges and holes in the drywall when removing the furnace. They vented the furnace over the basement window which has rendered it unusable as the venting would direct the exhaust from the furnace back into the basement if the window is opened even slightly. They were called back once to remove a humidifier that was no longer being used but was part of the original furnace and again left a tool behind. The cuts made in the walls and ceiling structure to vent the furnace and are large, sloppy and an eyesore. I will have to have a contractor in to repair and fix the damage done. I would definitely not recommend Reliance to anyone.

Overpriced water heater rental and repair

It costs $60/Mon to rent 50 gallon conventional vent gas water heater. It stopped working 2-3 years after installed. Called camed next day to repair didn't have the part. Next day they were supposed to be here in the am. I thought first thing. Didn't arrive till 11:20. Had issues installing part. He hadn't installed this particular part before. Had issues getting it all back together and stripped a screw so had to replace another part which he didn't have so had to go back to the office to get. However by 3:00 or so this afternoon I had hot water again. That said both guys I dealt with we're very nice. I appreciated their help. Def great people to deal with. The cost benefit however...

    New Furnace Install

Excellent experience from start to finish. Chris in sales was very helpful and took the time over two visits and numerous emails to address all of our concerns. He laid out all options both pro and con and we never got the impression that he was just trying to sell the equipment and move on. The install by Luc and Kyle was very thorough and they had a lot of respect for our property, cleaned up after their work, and did a very good install. They would not leave until they were assured that we were comfortable with the new equipment and how it worked. Great job guys!

    Installing a humidifier

The installer was businesslike, personable and technically competent. It turned out that there wasn't sufficient space for the humidifier we had selected. So he explained the situation to us, gave us another option and arranged a new installation date.

    Furnace and thermostat

October 5, 2016 - my old thermostat failed and I called Reliance for a replacement. Was told 'not a thermostat, but wiring' After rewiring to no success, they replaced the thermostat with a cheapie they had in the truck and got some activity. Bill claims parts under 1 year warranty. We spent a very uncomfortable winter with wide temp fluctuations. They convinced me that the problems were my fault although their internal reports indicated that the thermostat was the wrong type and might need to be replaced. In spring, the system failed to connect with the air conditioner. They could not return for at least three weeks, so I went to another service organization, who sent me to the original equipment manufacturer. They replaced the thermostat, and system now works fine. Reliance refused to accept return of their thermostat, because I did not use them again.

    HVAC

AC went out. Another bad circuit board. Mack (2172) fixed the issue and replaced the motor. It's the 3rd time he's helped us and each time he was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable.
