Where to start. Had a problem with furnace. Called Reliance on recommendation. Tech showed up, didn't fix my problem then red tagged my furnace for another issue. We had a month and a half to lift the tag. After two weeks of hearing nothing i called reliance. After a week of getting the run around they finally sent a tech guy. He gets there, says he wouldn't have tagged the furnace and asked where the part for the problem was. I don't know i replied, didn't you bring it? Tech guy says no the parts are delivered to home. Tech guy leaves.
So i spend another week playing phone the customer service people who keep 'sending ' tech people to appointments but they never show up. Out of frustration i call another HVAC company who actually are based in Ottawa and they fixed the problem and lifted the tag within 4 days just in time to avoid the heating being turned off. then some courier guy kept showing up with a part for me for a week after - with no call in advance- which i refused. Eventually he stopped coming.
1) the customer service people (who are somewhere in canada but not ottawa) are not well-connected to the technicians on the ground at least in ottawa. customer service were overall nice but powerless to do much as the work is out of their hands
2) the parts are delivered to the home not to the techie who comes out to do the job. that makes no sense and is overly complicated.
and increases risk of the two missing each other.
3) the local office in ottawa never called me once which makes for frustration adn more calls.
4) the technicians in ottawa rarely keep appointments
My advice, go with an HVAC company with a base in the town you live in even if it costs more.
