On the 13th of December our relatively new water heater stopped working. We quickly called Reliance and they had someone out there by 8am the next day. Unfortunately, the part that was required would have to be ordered. Which the technician said would be done and sent to me the next day. However, mid day on the Monday there was still no part delivered. I called the customer service line and asked where the part was. The girl spoke to the parts department who said they would look into it. I was told the parts department or customer service would follow up with me... no one did. I called again closer to 4pm and was told again that they would contact the parts department. I got a voice mail on my home phone telling me the part would not arrive until the next day. That would make it 4 days without hot water. Not acceptable. I called customer service again and had someone in escalations tell me " The technician should not have given you a time frame" and the girl I spoke to "did escalate the sxituation to the supplier" . We one,it's not my problem that the tech was not aware of what he could and could not promise. Two, if the issue had been escalated when I first called I wouldn't be talking to this person about not having how water three days later. Awful customer service.
Thankfully, I have a friend that works at Reliance, Terri who went out of her way to solve my concern. I posted my upset on FB around 5pm and before I got home at 7pm there were already messages from Reliance management advising me of how the situation would be resolved. I had to wait one more day, but knowing that I had a time frame and the issue would be solved, took a lot of stress off of me, If it had not been for Terri I would have had no commitment to a time frame and no idea if my heater would be fixed. Instead of telling me all the things that couldn't be done, Terri focused on how to fix the issue quickly. Her help with this is the reason why I didn't start raising my concern with the service I received, higher up the latter. Terri gave back my faith that I has not chosen poorly with choosing Reliance. Thank you Terri!!
