    Warning to new customers and to those looking to rent their equipment

    Beware of a LIEN on your property, bad customer service and LONG wait times on the phone. Reliance is very quick with their installations and service, I'll give them that. However, the rep i spoke to did not disclose the fact that even when you are renting their equipment, they put a LIEN on my property. So if you are trying to sell or refinance, you're on the hook for their equipment. Customer service is terrible with rude representatives and extremely long wait times. Also, if you email them, don't expect a reply. I would avoid them completely and go with another company and make sure they aren't putting a LIEN on your property. It should be illegal in Canada

    Tankless Natural Gas Water Heater Service

    Reliance is absolutely the WORST company I have ever dealt with in my 60 years.... We purchased our tankless natural gas water heater off the rental program from Reliance, and later asked them to provide service to the unit. They charged us for the first visit to perform routine maintenance, which of course was expected. However, that night immediately after the work was done, we could smell Natural Gas leaking into our home!!! We immediately called Reliance but they tried to deflect the issue to the gas supply company. We managed to get Reliance back the next day (not that night, even though it was an emergency). The new service technician confirmed that the previous technician had damaged the unit causing the gas leak. Unfortunately, the damaged part needed to be replaced was not available and had to be ordered. Apparently, the part was ordered, but that could never be confirmed though Reliance's office staff who were completely unresponsive to the situation. Furthermore, Reliance charged us for the second visit $247 for doing nothing to correct the damage that they caused. Almost 2 weeks later now, we still do not know if/when a replacement part will be available and nobody at Reliance is responding to the situation. Also, we are still without hot water for 2 weeks because the gas supply had to be turned off due to the leak caused by their first technician. I have now given up on Reliance and we are now looking at having to spend about $4,000 to replace the damaged water heater. Again, Reliance is the WORST company I have ever dealt with!!! They are completely inept as an organization, are unethical and provide terrible service.

    Plumbing

    Did an excellent job helping me out with my plumbing issue. Very quick and efficient. Changed tub diverter stout.

    Furnace serviced

    I was very pleased with the service provided by Lewis (110056) and will ask for him again when it is time to evaluate my air conditioner. Lewis called when he was on the way for the appointment, arrived on time and used all safety precautions at the front door (mask, indoor shoes, etc). which was greatly appreciated because my immune system is compromised. Lewis explained to me, step by step, what he was doing and why. He checked everything inside and outside of the house, took appropriate measurements, changed my furnace filter and made few recommendations with respect to my thermostat and carbon monoxide. Since I have a plan with Reliance Home Comfort, there was no charge for servicing my furnace. I highly recommend this company and will ask for Lewis when it is time to service my air conditioner. Thank you so much!

    Plumbing Repairs

    I was very happy with the plumbing services completed today. The plumber, Sasha, was timely, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He was able to fix a leak repair quickly and effectively. He also examined our old sump pump and found it was not working. Thankfully, he was able to replace it right there on the spot. Had it not been fixed, this could have led to major problems later on. Overall, This experience strengthened my trust in Reliance. Well done, Sasha!

    Air conditioning

    I was in need of either a repair or new air conditioner. My representative from alliance made the process very easy, accommodating, and enjoyable. The new AC was installed on the next business day after signing a contract. Amazing work from an amazing team!

    AC Maintenance Schedule Fulfilment

    Maintenance schedule fulfilment is very poor. Had booked appointment months ago for Jul 12th schedule slot 10AM-2PM. Nobody showed up and only found out when called Reliance and was told they were too busy and no technician available. Their reasoning defeats the purpose of making schedule or appointment. The worst is that Reliance did not even try to give the customer a courtesy call. Though was told that someone will come before 5PM which is yet to be seen. But anyway totally disappointed of the fulfilment. Cost is zero as it is part my maintenance package.
