Back in February of this year, we had sewage backed up from the floor drain in the laundry room. We tried to unclog it with Drano and snaked it but to no avail. We frantically looked up for plumbers in the middle of the night by going through Better Business Bureau website. I called the first company up (BBB accredited) that stated 24/7 emergency plumbing repairs, but there was no operator on the line, just a voice mail asking me to leave a message. Called the second one, got an operator but no callback from a technician. Called the third one and they asked for my name and address but would not give me a quote over the phone (they would need to send someone in to have a look first). Forget about that! Who wants a company that is not upfront with a customer? Guess what happened the next morning? This same company had the nerve by sending a plumber to our place to see if we still needed help, and my husband just turned him away.
Finally, AnTa Plumbing (my hero) came to the rescue. The operator on the phone was friendly and helpful. She dispatched Yuriy, a technician who arrived within 3 hours. He tried to unclog the drain but something was obstructing it, so he told us he would return the next morning with a scope camera to snake through the main drain and diagnose the problem. Sure enough, tree roots were clogging the old pipe line. AnTa sent a crew in and excavated part of the front lawn and removed the roots from a section of the pipe where the clog was. Upon further inspection, more tree roots were sprouting at different places within the pipe. We were advised that it would be better if the sewer pipe is relined, and an estimate was given without any pressure. So, we went with it and also had the floor drain replaced and a backwater valve installed (good to prevent sewage backup from the City's sewer into your home, but take precaution when the gate is shut, it also restricts wastewater from leaving your home as well).
All the work was completed in 4 days as promised and to our satisfaction. The crew worked hard through frigid weathers with ice and snow. They cleaned/tidied up the place as best as possible (couldn’t help it if there were dirt/dust here and there as it involved construction). The price was reasonable. Office staff was swift in rectifying a minor payment error. We were provided with an original invoice and a Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy Program application form. It will take 8 to 10 weeks to be processed by the City of Toronto.
We highly recommend AnTa Plumbing as they are trustworthy, punctual, dedicated and courteous.
Thank you so much AnTa, and we appreciate your professional approach in fixing our plumbing needs!
