We needed our gas line capped in the kitchen as we were replacing our gas stove. John was able to come by within our timelines to perform this before our new range arrived and also combined a furnace check-up at the same time. He was very thorough and professional doing both. After our new range arrived we realised the gas pipe would not clear the back base of the range and John was able to come out again on short notice to remove the pipe completely. We highly recommend John's services and have found our new go-to person for gas work after our last person retired!

Valentin is our go-to for any plumbing work, so when it was time to get a backwater valve installed we went directly to Strong Plumbing for the job. It's always a pleasure to deal with someone as honest and upfront as Valentin and crew. The installation itself was done efficiently, and Dennis and Sergei did a great job of installing the valve, dealing with inspection, cleaning up after, and putting our front garden back to its prior state. Dennis also filled in an unused drain hole in our basement which was venting in foul odours, and it's so much more pleasant downstairs now!

Valentin has become our go-to plumber with his responsiveness, fair pricing, and ability to service emergencies in a pinch. Our basement shower started leaking while we had house guests, so we needed to get it fixed quickly. Valentin diagnosed the issue via photos and came the next day with the necessary parts. On top of that he corrected an error in installation by the previous homeowners, which makes the shower function properly again.

Andy did a fantastic job installing a new skylight in our home. We'd long complained about having a dark upstairs hallway, and 2018 was the year we were finally going to do something about it! After scanning reviews on Homestars and emailing/calling a bunch of places, Andy was the only one who answered promptly (some didn't even respond at all!). After meeting him in-person we were confident he was the person for the job as he readily answered our questions, provided suggestions and alternatives, and would be able to complete the job within our timeframe. We happened to be going on a family vacation during that time and were hoping he could do the installation while away, which he readily accommodated. Andy provided us updates and photos of his progress, which reassured us while thousands of kms away. The skylight has transformed our upstairs completely (why didn't we do this sooner???), and we can't wait until the summer to use it fully as we opted for an electric skylight. His attention to detail and work with the drywalling were excellent, and we couldn't be happier with the end result. Thanks for a fantastic addition to our house, Andy!

Just had a great experience with Valentin and his crew with replacing our lead water service main. They were respectful of our garden and house, and took efforts to minimise the disruption and mess in our basement. They also replaced a portion of a clay basement drain pipe with a PVC pipe, did a camera inspection of the drain as we have had some issues with roots, and provided a clear explanation and quote in the event we want to proceed with removing the clay pipe and install a backwater valve. We greatly appreciate his honesty and no-pressure approach.

We discovered water pooling around our furnace in the morning, and I quickly left a message for Reliable. I had a couple of follow-up calls within an hour of leaving my message, and Reliable were able to fit in a service call the same afternoon. Dave showed up when he said he would and managed to get to the bottom of the problem and fix it, which turned out to be a clogged drainage pipe. He also took a look at our AC unit to make sure there was nothing wrong with it. I really appreciated how thorough Dave was with his work, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and Reliable to anyone.

I've used my fair share of reputable moving companies in the past, but Javier and his team are head and shoulders above all of them. First of all, Cargo Cabbie's pricing is fair, honest, and reasonable for the amazing level of service and efficiency you are getting. Everything was laid out clearly in the estimate, and I appreciated the 1/2 hour increments they charge by, as well as the fact they don't levy that stupid "transport" fee that all the other companies seem to tack on. The level of service provided by Cargo Cabbie, from their office team (thanks Hilary and Theresa!) to their movers, is exemplary. Javier and his team treated all my items and the house with care, and were so quick and efficient that my cost came in below the estimate. I know who I'm going to recommend to my friends when they need movers!

I needed the front door deadbolt replaced and patio door rekeyed at my new house, and Locksmith Care was able to provide same day punctual service at a very reasonable price. The service was great and Dimitar was able to replace the cheap deadbolt that was originally installed with a better quality one that I had purchased, but that had different dimensions. He also took the time to improve the original installation of the face plate on the door frame to make it more secure, which I really appreciated.

This is my third time using Tender Touch, and the reason I keep going back to them is because of the care they take when moving my furniture and belongings. Wayne and Elvis were the two working on my move and they were very efficient and personable throughout the move. Elvis was especially great to work with and he was constantly making sure that things were being done to my satisfaction. It took longer than expected (ergo, my bill was higher than the original estimate) given the navigation of narrow condo corridors and elevators required, but overall it was a job well done by both guys.

This is the second time I've used Tender Touch and have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. Their prices are reasonable given the care they take in protecting your house and furniture. Joe and Derek arrived on time and conducted themselves admirably during the move, taking the time to wrap all my furniture in padding or shrinkwrap, and ensuring that pieces were brought to where I needed them in my new place.

Everything from the initial phone call to dealing with the actual junk removal guys was a pleasant experience. The guys arrived on time, were polite and efficient, and even took the liberty of emptying one of my garbage bins which hadn't been part of the initial quote.

Mark was a pleasure to deal with from the beginning. He was able to accommodate my request for a quick turnaround time from coming out to provide a quote, as well as to actually installing the underlay and carpet in a small basement. I had a very tight timeframe and budget to deal with, which Mark was able to work around, and he also provided input along the way without resorting to any pressure tactics. He was always available to answer my questions. I would not hesitate to use his services again or recommend him to my friends.

Callrich wasn't originally our contractor for spray foaming, but because of a mistake I made in providing information to the original company, they were not able to start the job. This was a huge problem as the spray foaming was being done in conjunction with a roof replacement. The roofers recommended Callrich, and on extremely short notice Rich was able to get a removal crew out to the house and then start spray foaming, while coordinating everything with the roofer. I thought I was really stuck for a solution and Rich helped to make things happen!

Count me as another satisfied customer of Canadian Roofing. Bill did the initial estimate and did a very thorough job of explaining everything on the quote, providing me with various options. He even had me come up on the roof so that he could go into more detail on the various aspects of what needed to be done, the only estimator who actually did so out of the 4 I was in touch with. The actual job itself was complicated by the fact I was also having the attic spray-foamed, so there was lots of coordination required on their end. Even after a huge problem with the original spray foam company due to a big boo-boo on my part, Jason and Bill scrambled to pull some strings and had another company come in on very short notice to remove the old insulation and spray down new foam, with only a day's work delay. Throughout all this they kept me informed of progress and costs. The job itself was well done and the crew did a great job of cleaning up the mess caused by removing 4 layers of old shingles and flat roof.

Just had my energy audit conducted by Ralph at Pro Home & Building Inspections and had a great experience. He was very friendly and knowledgeable, and did a thorough job in evaluating the house and suggesting improvements. He was clear throughout the whole inspection process and made sure I understood and had asked all my questions before moving on. I also like the fact that Pro Home's inspectors have engineering backgrounds and certs.

Craig did a wonderful job restoring the white oak floors on our home, especially given that we had a very tight timeline to work with. His service was fantastic and he provided a personal level of interaction that would be hard to find with a larger company. Craig even sent photos of his work in progress to keep us updated and in the loop. As a bonus, his rates were very reasonable and the materials and equipment he used were also of top quality.
